  1. Lets be honest, the average sledder is now an old fat guy, almost as old and fat as an HD rider
  2. Exactly why everyone on FB wants twins for their clapped out old pos trail sled
  3. Cat builds every trail sled and crossover with electric start, and a recoil...
  4. Not sure, but I don't see the factories giving any rebates, programs, or even floorplan on those units, when they will be trying to sell 23's
  5. do they still have the dyno correction factors all fucked up???
  6. Same conditions for everyone. BTW this doo did much better against the tcat than the prototypes they had in the spring
  7. The Tcat was first to 60', 330', 500', and 660'. At 500' the box stock tcat had higher mph than any point on the track, of every pass the doo made
  8. Oh, and poo blew up before the first pass, and didn't compete
  9. Jesus you guys are slacking The turbos ran 660' because of sketchy shutdown conditions. on the Tcat's first pass it ran a lower et than the ski dud did on any of its 4 passes stock and dealer prep.
  10. It's a poo 800, the fact that it runs at all means its a good one... fire a timesert in it, and switch injectors from cylinder to cylinder. If you want to get serious, a degree wheel, and piston stop will tell you if the pto crank pin is out of time with the mag side.

  12. They are spending that much time and $$ to weld up scrap metal, so they can crate a sled????? Could have had an american company forge or extrude the spindles for less.....
  13. Cat 8 has already beaten the 840 at the shootout, and in the real world The doo 900 is way way down on HP, and not sure if arctic adventures can cheat enough to get it ahead, but I'm sure they are trying.
  14. Yup, bigger and heavier, but not a huge amount heavier. I originally was going to put one in the sled, had the engine, ecu and harness, but it would have been a lot of work to do right.. Running carbs, and the same size case made it easier, even then the pipe barely fit between the steering post and plug boots
  15. That was the most fun, best handling sled possibly ever. I had on 09 RSX that I converted into XC trim. Put the 600 in a rubbermaid tub under the bench, and dropped in a heavily modified F7 carb bottom end with home ported F9SS top end, and my own head domes. Took it to Jaws to have the pipe made/fit. Had a flywheel cut with another keyway to give it 8* advance with the dial on 0. Modified a reverse cam secondary to fit, and ditched the pos team. It was a handful, clutch engagement at 6k, and full throttle rpm of 9,200, but at the same weight as a 500, and more than double the HP, the thing was awesome. The hot-start button still worked
  16. You can't begin to imagine
  17. I ran twins with individual "silencers" on my trail sled way back
  18. Is everthing you guys ride out there that flat and straight??
  19. I know the numbers I was told by tech, my rep, and Halvorson. It was more than any cat engine in 20 years, but still well below industry norms. Last season we had the first warranty engine failure at the shop in over 10 years, and have been in the top 5 unit sales every one of those years.
  20. seems you're skipping some of your bullshit you should be backing up....
  21. ... no delete post button here?? I'm out of practice and pulled the trigger too early...
  22. So if cats 800, in a "heavy outdated chassis", is faster than the latest and greatest 840 with unmatched durability, whats going to happen when a bigger version comes out in a significantly lighter chassis?? That "heavy outdated chassis" has been crushing poo in XC FWIW
