This is a very strange sight....I am not use to the weather actually trying to cooperate with us vs. another kick to head. Forecast is looking much better now

I rode from sled club house on Snow Valley to Wasaga for breakfast and back...nice little first shake down run, everything worked fine, including me....hard to believe it for a Cat! It was brisk, light traffic heading out, much heavier coming back. Snow was thinner near Wasaga. It has been years since I rode that area....it is nice, a mixture of farm field and bush. Can't say much about the people that decided to park in an already full parking lot at the club house....had to unhitch my trailer from the truck, move it by hand to pull out of my parking spot... Nice run though otherwise.
  7. What is this new rule all about? I guess I'll look it up later, but first I'm hearing about that.... sounds like a good one though.

That's the thing, need to balance between not overpricing yourself and still provide a good install....Fine line now a days.
  9. Lol... That show is priceless.

My brother and I installed my furnace, I was a little concerned afterwards that everything was as it should be, so a year or so after I had it, I had one of those pre-season check ups done prior to the winter....the guy made a few comments in regards to the install & asked who did it, told him self installed, his comment afterwards was that it put a lot of guys that do it for a living to shame.
  11. A bit of both, in some cases.....some can be so cheap that they make stupid mistakes. Anyways, you were the one referencing money previously, which is what I commented on.. Regardless, multiple lives lost, for whatever reason......if this road is as populated as suggested, I would think a neighbour would have heard an explosion of some sort if that was the case. I know when I am at a cottage in the winter, any noise is usually quite pronounced with most of the leaves fallen and the cool/cold nights. The other thing to consider, most people when placed in a crisis situation, like a fire in your home, cannot deal very well with it or make the "best" choices, which could result in life lost, one of the reasons it is highly recommended to have a planned escape route should a fire happen, it requires less thought......the dogs for all we know could have been caged at night.

And safety vest....need to be prepared for what all life can throw at ya! Gary...just having some fun !!!
  13. Agreed....and just because someone has money or an expensive cottage, does mean they are cheap and blinded by certain things when it comes to spending as little as a $100 or so on some detectors. I am sure you know this, but some of the cheapest people in life are those with lots of money....

Exactly like mine....And if you refer to the manual, it tells you the cfm for each settings. Nice being able to custume these how you like....I might adjust might again if and when we get the woodstove installed with a return vent right by it.

That is a pretty neat tool....but you still need to now move all the snow that is now at the base of the house I would imagine.
  16. I've been to a few cottages that simple had the detectors removed and sitting on a shelf.....I assume because seasonal use with little to no heat in winter, the batteries die and rather than hearing the chirp, they get removed and forgotten about.

On my unit, that is now older, the fan speeds can be changed on the board inside the furnace with dip switches, you can change it for heat or air, plus I think also for when blower is at idle or when heat or air is called for by the t-stat. Your installers either left the settings "stock" or set them based on other parameters, but could be changed if you wanted to I'm sure.

Unofficially, I know the clubs likes to have some sleds run 65 to pack things before the groomer goes around the loop.....I know I have been asked to in the past when I ran into the club at the ASC shelter where D101B meets 65....

Agreed, hence the much needed packing comment.

I recalled a short cut a few years ago as well that crossed some lakes when we stayed at Three Bears....just followed the instructions provided & the tracks, but I thought that shortcut was to the C trail, but I might be wrong?

Looks real pretty! Too bad that entire area is still Red on the map.....I am sure there are trails that can ran and much needed packing though.

I have not, however they received some new snow yesterday after the milder temps the other day. I suspect the OFSC map will change a fair amount as the week comes to a close with the new snow falling.
