Very seldom do I participate in the bashing. If I do it is usually about a brand of sled. If some of the newer members, and we all know who they are, on HCS, would have followed, "I don't like that, so I will just leave, or not wander into the GDF", HCS would not have lost so many members. I am still there, for now.

Chris, If you buy a 650 and go into it accepting  it isn't a topend sled, but a very good trail sprint sled, you will be happy. JMO

for those that have branded blankets for their smokers, any reason a welding blanket can't be used?

For me the Matryx seat sucks. I like to ride forward and the narrow dirtbike type seat has no support. I know many will say it is made that way for aggressive riders. That does not change my opinion, that I am entitled to, and several others that don't like it. Otherwise it is a good sled. 650 is strong off the bottom and through the midrange. I still prefer my XC850 137, which I have not rode yet this year.

Can you put marks on each gear and  the chain, when it is loose or tight, to see if it always happens at your marks?  Sounds like a tweaked shaft though.

• Bontz, I think it was Todd. He replied to a similar thread on HCS after I snowchecked last spring.

#19 is the front cooler. In your pic, Where the 2 hose clamps #5 across from each other,  connect ,  are the full length tunnel coolers. They are basically the tunnel top,#13,in my pic,  with the tunnel sides riveted to them.
