  1. Polaris is absolutely killing it right now especially with marketing and options. No doubt about that but it’s not like they did that overnight either, they had absolute garbage for a while and slowly over the last 10 years built themselves into the powerhouse they are. I think if cat could get the gauge thing out of the way to shut people up and like we said a “playful” skid it would get a lot of attention. I honestly would rather they didn’t change the body of what they have now just because changes have a tendency of ruining good things. And obviously the biggest thing would be a bigger than 850 motor or even some sort of triple, I feel like with emissions playing a factor big now and them having a bulkhead that would fit it, an 800 or 900 triple would be something that pulled people over in droves just to say they had one. I think some decent little changes marketed the right way could put them right back in the game and I also agree they do need to do something soon to stop losing people before it’s far too late.
  2. I agree 1000% as soon as the 18s came out I said that they should’ve called it something else. They need a gauge, at least optional for the bar hopping dildos that care about that stuff or to show they’re listening and care. Cat needs a skid that can handle the big bumps at high speeds like the slide action but isn’t stiffer than a honeymooners prick on smooth trails. Ski doo has the best skid at low speeds by far, Polaris is better at low speeds but isn’t as stable or comfortable at high speeds through the big stuff as the cat imo, the r motion is horrible and unpredictable in high speed bumps from what I’ve experienced on them. If cat could make a skid that keeps the front a little more planted than the Polaris but still will transfer and have a “fun factor” and put someone in there that can market the shit out it then I think they could start pulling people back in. They’re not far off the mark and I don’t understand really why people who ride them are so mad about it but I do absolutely agree that they aren’t doing anything that’s gonna bring in new customers.
  3. Don’t get me wrong it’s a genius marketing ploy to charge people so much for lack luster machines and accessories that they have no choice but to be fully invested in your brand, but fuck are they lack luster. Honestly I probably have an RR over an XCR just because of my comfortability on the procross platform and the walker evans vs QS3R’s. If I could afford one of each I’d have them both. But I think I have my buddy talked into an indy XCR 850 for next year and I’m sure we’ll do a lot of swapping back ang forth to compare that and my 22 RR once they’re set up. Edit- forgot to make my point. Polaris and Cat are so close with their badass trail sleds (RR/XCR) and Doo is absolutely out to lunch with the renegade XRS it’s embarrassing, but Im almost positive that if the Assault 144 isn’t the number one selling trail sled the Renny XRS is, makes no sense.
  4. Yea it’s masked well with dark shades. I always thought they were putrid to begin with but I took that picture of all of our sleds Saturday and when I went back and looked at it I was shocked that they’re even worse than I thought. I also rode it and that was lackluster as well. If people actually rode sleds abc based their decisions on buying them off that I think textron would own BRP and arctic cat would be Duking it out with Poo for number 1. Ski doo gets so deep in peoples brains though it’s insane. Forget BNG they go with BSEFG (bold same exact fucking graphics for the laymen) ski doo fucking sucks. Or maybe I’m just mad because I just had to help my buddy do secondary rollers in his 17 XRS and you have to dismantle half the fucking machine for something you should be able to do by taking a single bolt out... Anyhow fuck ski doo and all the head to toe XPS clowns that ride them. 😂
  5. 100% agree, I think cat should’ve called the 18+ something else. It shows how much people pay attention to marketing hype over actual product as well.
  6. The Matryx is not as ugly in person, I’d still definitely take an AXYS sled over it but it’s nowhere near as bad as the G4. Check the pic for reference of how ugly they are.
  7. I just bought Toms 19 limited for my girlfriend and he seemed pretty pumped when messaged he’ll take the high windshield I took off of it and it’ll fit the 22 he orders 😂 At this point you’re getting an 09, 14 or 12 masked as a 22. Arctic cat just can’t seem to find a better mask, or at least market theirs as good as the others. Ramstad is a babbling moron and I wish people would just stop calling him out on it so he wouldn’t have anything to talk about and/or prove. also the 22 RR looks pretty bitchin to me. I’m ordering one whenever I can. Mainly because I’d order a 2022 Rupp Nitro from my dealer if that’s all he had. Secondly because I rode a 20’ G4 and 20’ XCR this weekend and still think the RR procross is the best trail weapon out there. They definitely need something new that’ll steal people back though. At least put an exact same design but 1 piece tunnel and some new plastics without killing the looks and market the piss out of it like the other 2 do as “brand new game changer,” oh and a new motor is gonna be needed to get people to switch.
  8. Feb 18th. Nobody has any “leaked” info that I know, everyone knew last year that nothing new was coming besides the blast way before the release. Something like 15 people got canned from Cat when the Riot pictures leaked before it’s release so hopefully all this is some good news. I just hope they don’t fuck up the handling or ride/predictability of the trail sleds or the looks if it’s something new. At least I can be hopeful for the next 2 weeks.
  9. If cat came back out with a ZR3 with QS3R’s it’d be the ultimate smooth trail weapon.
  10. Wasn’t Selby on a 7000 or 5000 cat for a few ice races last year?
  11. http://www.obups.com/products/engine.htm check down towards the bottom on this page.
  12. The dealer is fixing it and selling it for me, he wrote me a check for what we agreed on and I gave him the insurance check and it’s gonna be considered a trade in towards my 22. He’s giving almost exactly what I paid and the tax savings and not being tied up with a sled that’s waiting for parts makes up for the rest. It pays to have a good dealer.
  13. From what I’ve heard, from 2 of what I would consider “reputable sources“, the Polaris guys are probably gonna be back pedaling on what “all new chassis” and “game changer” means. Front end is staying the same as it should and guys looking for a new motor aren’t gonna be too excited. Snowmageddon will be different and we should know more relatively soon.
  14. Mine would do it but it wasn’t as fun once it was in 5th. It should be high 6xx hp on 200 pills and go basement 10s (keeping my expectations low). But it’ll definitely be a fun daily drivable stick car, hell it was with just a cam/longtubes.
  15. What happened to Herf in open? He was still on the podium, just not his normal step.
  16. I actually threw the sled up on marketplace since we’re having a bad winter and sled prices are so high. I got back to the truck last Sunday and had 4 messages of people saying they come buy it for $13,500 cash, of course this is after it got hit. One guy is still interested once it’s fixed and I didn’t talk to the others. I found a 19 limited 600 with iAct that I’d could buy, ride for the winter, give to my gf, sell her clapped out xp ski Doo when I order a 22 and come out about even with where I started so that’s the plan. Stopped at the dealer the other day, $4500 in repairs, needs a tunnel and everything..
  17. 124 GPS on my buddies first hopped up turbo sled. 152 on my buddies GSXR 750 and 155 in my uncles E55 AMG. All my friends have faster toys than me apparently, my WS6 would hit 135 at the top of 4th then you’d shift to 5th with the double OD t56 and it would feel like a week to hit 140. The extra 75-100hp on motor and going from 3.42s to a built 8.8 with 4.10s should help that this year.
  18. I like arctic cat probably 40% because my family always had them growing up and 60% now because I feel like they have the best trail sled on the market, it doesn’t take much to dial in a gen 2 procross and when they are I feel they’re the best rider forward trail sled ever produced. I did want to give an Indy XCR a shot but I have die hard Polaris buddies who had them and said they were horribly valved and just did nothing well. Most importantly most hated brand is 150% ski Doo, bump steering, bull dozer-like handling, washy front end. I’d give them credit for the ride in the skid on the 16(ish) and up but the side to side bucking in the stutter bumps takes all that out of the picture. And they have the biggest group of dildos that ride them, maybe not like the normal ski Doo guys but I’m talking the head to toe XPS gear, only ride brand new every year XRS’s and only ride with other guys who have XPS’s. You can commonly find these dorks riding, standing up, 25mph down the center of the trail but thinking they’re giving 2001 Blair Morgan a run for his money. They’re the brands bread and butter because they’ll never ride their pushy, $17k piles of shit hard enough to realize how bad they handle and will keep buying new ones when theirs are “worn out” after a 400 mile season of “hard riding.”
  19. I just think the pictures sick and the sled looks sick but we don’t get along after 2 mishap laden rides (not on the sled or cats fault) so it’s for sale when it’s fixed if it’s not totaled
  20. On the last part my only question is a very puzzled “how?!” Lol
  21. I snow checked a 21 Zr8000rr this year. 21 miles into the first ride I hit a washout at a weird angle and bent the spindle. Today I went riding and 80 miles into a 100 mile day came out from lunch went down the trail a couple miles until it smoothed out and we could speed up and sit down. I went to put my foot in the footwell and it was tight. Next time we stopped I checked it out, running board bent, bar from the “pyramid” to the running board bent, Inner footwell piece tweaked and belly pan cracked underneath. Someone must have whacked it in the parking lot and took off. (Second time this has happened to me but last time, about 10 years ago, the guy did it right in front of me to my old Mxz 670ho took my address ordered me a ski and trailing arm, both were just gouged up, and had it shipped to my house). So I’m thinking the sled has some sort of bad juju on it, I’ll be taking it to the dealer to have them and the insurance sort it out. I may have him just sell it after that. Has anyone had this sort of thing happen right out the gate or felt a sled was somehow “cursed” did you sell it? Did it get better? Idk if I’m overreacting or being to superstitious and I do love the sled and would love to keep riding it it just seems like something is off about it and it’s just not meant to be, also kind of don’t want to keep it around and find what the 3rd issue is going to be.
  22. Got it for Christmas for me and my sister when I was a year and a half old. She went into some pricker bushes the first time she rode it so it was all mine after that. My parents still talk about me at 3 and 4 years old waking up before them and getting dressed to ride then waking them up on the weekends. Only time I would come inside before dark was when it needed gas.
  23. Seat of the pants and lining up my buddies 850s with my 18 Ctec this seems opposite of everything I’ve experienced but maybe it’s the 20/21 motor (I forget what my 18 had for gearing though). The Cat definitely makes some steam out the back now. My 18 was always as fast or faster down low than the poo 850s and they would come around up top by a lot, the ski doos weren’t really a factor either way but it seems like they have things figured out.
  24. No the one we discussed for hood removal. This spindle came out nice and easy due to the whole 21 miles on the machine thing... fuckin cat
