  1. Is it ok with you for people to complain about their favorite sports teams or their favorite car companies? I'm not buying either of those either atm. Are you still ok with me taking jabs at Polaris and Ski-Doo but not Cat? That seems rather.... odd. Just hoping to clarify who/what's fair game and what isn't, on the internet. Fact: Textron has done and is doing precisely what many predicted they would do to Arctic Cat.
  2. add in a nutshell, I can't ever recall a time where the Cat faithful have ever been so negative about their brand - it's not just a few of us here, it's on HCS, FB and even ArcticInsider - the most positive pro-Cat platform ever. when John Sandberg walked away, that should have been the biggest tell of them all. http://www.arcticinsider.com/Article/Gone-Exploring-A-Brief-Story-About-Me
  3. and more so, the 800 Zuke imo, Greg knows a lot and nailed it, and total complacency from inept management who not only let the competition eat their lunch in the retail landscape, they got beat up and had their milk money taken. then Hosanna arrived in a Textron leisure suit, and has been milking the teets until the udder runs dry. that's how the game gets played, they have no interest or loyalty to the consumer or the brand, to them it's like buying a truckload of grapefruit for $250 and selling as many as possible for $5 each until they run out, then they sell the truck and trailer and it's game over and they walk away and you've got a $5 grapefruit. let's look at the past few months... Cat's 60th anniversary = nothing burger and a Garmin GPS while Poo & Doo launch new shit once again. Brian Dick, a racer, engineer and someone who understands the industry, it's products, consumers, place in the market is walked out the door. Then they hire a person from Atlanta who has ZERO experience in the snowmobile industry to steer the ship and make it more lean, mean and green. for those who can't see the writing on the wall. get some fucking glasses that aren't all green.
  4. Country Cat makes more $ on their parts and soft goods than most by a country mile... pun intended. They stock parts, their prices are always right there (I understand margins as good as anyone) and their customer service is top notch, regardless of Cat. Have ordered must-have parts on a Friday and had them in time on a Saturday morning without fail. Any manufacturer with half a brain should be lucky to have a dealer as good as them serving the online parts ordering public. Last time I tried ordering a part priority from one of the local dealers and told them I was willing to pay a premium for a widget I was told a week and a ludicrous shipping price. CC had it in stock and it was $6 for Spee-Dee delivery which gets to me in one day. Hard to beat that.
  5. From my pov getting rid of Brian seems to be the final nail in the coffin of any new innovation on the snow side coming from Cat. I also have an awful gut feeling they're going to kill the race program next (again). How much did they spend on the display at ERX again?
  6. Do you think the nice lady from Atlanta will be doing lot's of product testing, interacting with racers/consumers and getting her hands dirty? Her dog is a pretty light color...
  7. yup, they definitely don't want a guy like that walking out the door with any top secret plans for a Garmin GPS, plans for a new single cylinder kids sled or the magic formula to primer gray paint.
  8. Brian is a racer and enthusiast - clearly there's no room for guys like him, Roger Skime, The Hibberts, Craig Kennedy, Donn Eide, Greg Spaulding, Russ Ebert or etc., etc., etc. under this new Textron tent. https://patents.justia.com/inventor/brian-w-dick Please let us know when this new Ditch Witch from Atlanta impresses you with her brilliant engineering and dazzling new products.
  9. @Zambroski this is the new face of Arctic Cat. https://www.facebook.com/TSVRecruiting/videos/heidi-mcnary-vice-president-of-our-tracker-off-road-business-at-tsv-discusses-th/1599201636901485/
  10. Odd, Ramstad sees them EVERYWHERE!!!! Let go, or quit? Wow, last of the Mohicans Kloety hanging in there? Good grief. But so many people claimed Textron was the Savior of Arctic Cat. Like Jesus...
  11. Most of us here that 'don't play well with others' can no longer view that forum.
  12. this was interesting Taiga is ahead of the curve, and I expect Poo & Doo to follow. It's sort of exciting to see this transformation... sort of Even at our home/cottage we're transitioning to more electric stuff, chainsaws, weed eaters, Milwaukee (you name it) but haven't succumbed to our vehicles, outboards or sleds yet.
  13. We Are Now A Kawasaki Dealer Video: Express™ Series Golf Carts. Very New. Very Extra. (mailchi.mp)
  14. idk man, spent some time on tight trails on my friends Assault the winter before last and was shocked at how well you could turn it. but since I started the gimmick commentary let's stick with that until they beat Cat at an XC race.
  15. Will be interesting to see how the 136 tipped rail Poo Cross Country does. It's supposed to ride like a 128 but gives riders that extra bit of rail and track for added traction and bump bridging. Maybe it works, or maybe it's a great marketing gimmick. They have been using that setup in the Iron Dog sleds for a while now.
  16. If I can attach a slide hammer to it, I can fix it.
  17. With the likelihood of terrain racing coming back to XC for the 21/22 season it will be interesting to see if Herf and Cat stick with the 129 or if they go 137.
  18. currently, Tahoe, old V70R, wife's Saab was and most every performance car I've ever owned. big fan of good suspension and brake mods going way back. I don't miss a rat's nest of vacuum hoses under the hoods. I like the seats in my 06 Tahoe much better than everything GM has done since 2007. They should really bring back I tops... or T tops 100% on the 'SUV' comment The OEM domestics did a great job of convincing morons they weren't buying station wagons back in the early nineties - which is really what they are. Personally, I love station wagons and have been sad to see most of them killed off by American manufacturers as I grew up driving them and still have one. The CTS-V and Magnum SRT wagons were cool cars in my book. Drove one of these through high school, dad bought it new and I only destroyed one transmission doing Reverse to 1st drops. Used to pack eight friends in it, a keg of beer and drive around on the lake in winter with it. My younger brother finally destroyed it long after I was out on my own, seems a rod went through the side of the block when he accidently hit neutral at WOT while manually banging gears on the column shifter.
  19. That's incredibly easy to fix, the only vehicle we have that isn't lowered atm is my wifes. For your new ride... https://www.crownsuspension.com/2019-silverado/sierra-1500/
  20. Hard to play with your phone while driving the older iron with a hands on driving experience. Vehicles are too easy to drive today which I feel has led to far too much distracted driving. Maybe they should teach student drivers in cars with three on the tree
  21. remember regular cab short box trucks? @fortune46x my first truck had a starter pedal on the floor of all the things I've owned and foolishly parted ways with in my lifetime, that was by far my dumbest move to date.
  22. some of us old timers were having a laugh about 'things' they no longer utilize in modern cars and trucks one of the things on my list was the vent/fly windows on the front doors, another said metal switch knobs you can use with a glove on - and a real ashtray and cigar lighter and one of the younger guys said (hilariously) - a back seat you can have sex in. what's on your list?
  23. For Sale: 2019 Arctic Cat ZR8000RR...... just saying have you had a sit down interview with a technician in the past decade? the talent pool is getting shallower every day. we've created an entire generation of people that have (for the most part) no interest or desire to 'fix things' (a vague term). as I see it, this country is in big trouble, and the good techs, machinists and fabricators out there at some point will be able to demand similar wages to plumbers and electricians whose jobs haven't technically changed since Edison/Tesla or shit running downhill. modern tech's are vastly underpaid, and if not for decades of wage suppression by the industries that utilize them, maybe there wouldn't be a shortage of qualified ones out there. the average tech these days has around $40K invested in tools alone, where the plumber and electrician have a canvas bag full of junk that isn't work most techs 1/4" drive socket set. I have more...
