  1. Crap I better get a motor in the Puma!!
  2. I probably have more Arcticwear than that cooks guy, and oh yeah paid in full!
  3. It's only because his fuel tank is bigger
  4. Two sleds (or more) is the only way to go if you're interested in both trail riding and off trail riding
  5. I'd like to know why aren't we talking about brake reservoir capacity and adjusting their levels so they're all the same? It's unfair to have low brake reservoir capacity! Also. We should be putting a meth tank in every sled for weigh in. It's unfair skidoo has to run one and not everybody else. Also. Skidoo has shot and that's unfair so we should weigh the skidoo with a regular lead acid battery. Basically we need to make all the sleds exactly the same so everything is "fair". Then they will all weigh the same and there will be no winners and losers. Brilliant! I can't think of a single thing that could go wrong with this mentality.
  6. There's trade off to everything. It comes down to the rider and what they prefer. Some riders might not experience the shortcomings of a track because they ride in a way that those shortcomings are not exposed, or their snow conditions or the trails they ride do not expose them. But it's simple physics that a longer length won't have the ability to pivot in a turn as free or fast, given everything else being the same.
  7. That's only 3" difference which is one inch less than 4".
  8. Oh, yes I know who the Brown's are. I will have to disagree with you on the thinking that what one racer prefers means it's better for all people. This comes down to personal preference, there's not a right and wrong. I race dirt bikes and you could ask 10 racers what bike they like or what traits they like in a bike and you'll get 10 different answers. Because people have different riding styles and ride at different speeds and value different traits and feelings from a machine. I would bet that Zach and David have different setups to their race sleds. Also what these top level snowmobilers racers like really doesn't apply to trail riders.. both in the terrain and speed/intensity. What they do is worlds apart from a trail rider. Totally different. But even if it was the same, like I said there's still no right and wrong, it's personal preference. If he likes the color purple that doesn't mean purple is the best color for everyone. But back to the original point. Cat does offer a 129" again in the catalyst so they must know there is a difference with the lengths and pros and cons for each one might appeal to different buyers.
  9. Can I what? I don't race snowmobiles. I have no idea if I'm smarter than Zach and Dave (whoever that is), we'd have to do some IQ tests to figure that out, but I don't understand the relevance of these questions in relation to my question?
  10. That's weird because the difference between a 137 vs 145 is the same as 129 vs 137. You say you can't tell the difference to the 129, but you say of course you could tell the difference to the 145?
  11. So do you think you could tell a difference between your 137", and a 145"?
  12. He should have got out of business a long time before he's in debt for the rest of his life. There were a lot of poor decisions made to get to that point.
  13. I believe the official word is the racers preferred it for ice racing. However, Cat didn't offer a consumer 129 in those years and cat's claim was the 137 does everything better and the 129 is not needed.. so it's entirely possible they were told to say it's for ice racing because that is not what customers do at all. If racers said it also works better on snow then people would complain and say "see that's why we want a 129". And Cat didn't want to produce extra models
  14. Interesting, they're still using the original design catalyst ski loops on some of the MY 2025 demos. I wonder if they might still use them, it's a little thing but I liked them better than the procross era loops. Yes I know they were originally breaking and that's why they went away from them. But interesting they're on new demo sleds now.
  15. And by race sled they mean race Jag https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2AmG-jr4ws/?igsh=MTBwejh2bjc4bTdpMA==
  16. Not sure what you mean, Cat made that sled, sooooo ..... And while the procross can look good, the catalyst looks WAY better imo. Especially side by side. Catalyst is leaner and meaner, tighter. All the differences in catalyst as far as mass centralization, lighter weight, compact and all that, you can SEE the character difference in the machines just by looking at them. No denying it. And if you value the light weight and responsive elements of a machine you'll prefer the catalyst aesthetics because that's what it looks like and is.
  17. The procross sleds can look pretty good.
  18. I got tricked into drinking malort once. It was a cruel trick.
  19. Coincidentally the musher was wearing a Polaris jacket
  20. Sometimes those mushers are mean to the dogs, I've seen one guy stop the team and punch the crap out of the dog.
