Huh! It's almost like there's ebbs and flows and things balance out in the end. Like the winter before when we set snowfall records or the fact that our 5 year average, including this winter, is still above historical average. Huh! Huh!

Last summer was a super bad drought also and it basically continued through the winter. These things happen. I think it was the 1930's where there was a ~10 year drought that was pretty brutal "the dust bowl". I can only imagine the bleeding heart propaganda we'd have to go through if we went on a ten year run like that today.

I'd agree. I don't doubt those flares can help. If they knock down any snow at all, some of that will end up staying in tunnel or hitting the track as it falls. Just like everyone so mystified that the catalyst cools better but look at the snowflap, different design to catch more snow. The issue all along was lack of snow on the exchangers so anything that would increase that will help cooling. My high country on the trail would throw a big rooster tail everywhere, it looked sweet. But it'd get hot because snow was going under the flap. The smaller the track lug and smaller the rear bogie wheels will both help the track carry snow up into the tunnel instead of spitting it out back.

If you guys want to fix your cooling issues cut a frickin hole in your hoods and put some fins on your cylinders like real men

Nice example of how they'll attempt outrage over nothing. OMG different countries are changing temperatures at different times OMG. They could have easily framed it as, "rest of world is one third as warm as x country". But that doesn't sell to the morons like saying x country is 3 times hotter!!!1!111! It's basically just like saying Iowa warmed 3x as fast as MN over the last 24 hours.

I'm coming off a high country so it may be a little different than a trail sled. In proper snow off trail it was fine. But access trails and slow speed exploring you'd have to watch it. But still not too bad, I I never had a light come on like what some people apparently would. If mine got into the 120's I'd be concerned and maybe once or twice it got into the 130's. In good snow it was always at 105.

Yeah, it's probably just old PTSD from procross'. On my old zr900 there's just a light and I would've even seen it if it came on. Never look at those gauges. In my limited catalyst time this year, I was surprised how well it cooked for the conditions I had. Maybe I will get back to not looking at it. For me it's going to be all the single track trails I travel around on, often slow going and compacted.

I wonder if you'll be able to read actual coolant temp with the g8 gauge. The sport gauge just gives a cold-hot gauge

That's ridiculous. Angled studs, so it's just for wannabe drag racers? Because anyone serious would be running real studs. And trail guys should want braking if they're decent riders. Plus that guy talks funny.
