Yet mattis supported the Kerry Iran deal to large extent. He went as far as to defend it while sec of def. Why? Because Mattis is a true believer in diplomacy. He knows the importance of keeping diplomatic channels open. It’s the only alternative to war in the human species. So while the idiots try and paint mattis as a war monger, remember that he pushed for diplomacy harder than anyone. Does anyone know why mattis and Obama had a falling out? Because he asked too many questions that pushed the administration to look closely at future Middle East scenarios. Mattis understands cause and effect better than anyone in this pathetic whitehouse, or for that matter the last five administrations. I think at this point he could write a 10 year script on how wirld events are going play out in Middle East and be 80% accurate.
