He's not talking about adding timing. He's talking about running your tuned 1100 at 8100 becuase there is less timing at that RPM level. The stock setup ran at 7800 which has more timing at that rpm level. When you increase the booth the RPM's increase as the extra power pushes the stock clutching past 7800. His contention is don't load the motor with heavier clutching to bring it back to 7800 as the higher boost combined with the heavier load to get it back to 7800 along with the more aggressive timing will cause detonation. if you have good fuel it's irrelevant and the sled will make more power at 7800. You know you are right that you can run it at 8100 and it will be fine no one is saying your wrong well I'm not at least.

The problem isn't the clutching at 7800, it's the load put on the motor at 7800 and without great fuel you get detonation. Running it at a higher rpm where you have less timing is a bandaid for poor fuel
