  1. So I recently picked up a 2006 Silverado 1500.

There was a clicking noise that I could here when going through a drive thru or other places where the sound could bounce back to me. I found that a front axle was loose. It must of backed off after the previous owner had the bearing replaced 2ish years ago. For some reason gm doesn't use a staked nut or pin.

I tightened the axle but unfortunately the clicking is still there. I guess the bearing is gone from being loose for who knows how long.

I have a camping trip coming up and i want to get it dealt with so it doesn't cause any problems.

I am looking at some options online and I am leaning towards a World Parts regular bearing for $100 or their premium bearing for $127 cad.

Does anyone have any experience with world parts as a brand? Is it decent or should I steer clear?

Can anyone explain the hate towards Harleys?  I don’t mean this thread, but in general people are always talking shit about them.  Like I think Volkswagen’s are junk but if someone shows up to a bbq with one I don’t feel the need to tell the owner what a lousy car they are.  But wear a Harley shirt to the bbq and some loudmouth idiot is bound to say something about leaking oil or turning gas into noise without the harmful effects of horsepower

I think the problem is that they are generally way overpriced of sub par build quality. Then the stereotypical people riding them. Rev the engine like it will stall at anything less than 3/4's rpm at every light, make it obnoxiously loud so people can hate from 6 blocks away, dress yourself with brand whore everything so you can be as visually as loud as your bike but with zero functionality to prevent the 1000lbs ugly you are riding from turning you in to a minced meat pie, ect.

  3. I was wondering if anyone in Canada would be interested in filling out a two question survey? For every entry using this link (https://www.gunpost.ca//contest?referral=562202) it gives me an extra 5 entries to win a shotgun. The posted picture is the entire survey. I won't see anything but extra entries in the draw.

The contest is only available for Canada only. So I don't believe entries from the us will help unfortunately.

    Thank you

  4. Well steering racked changed in the Forester. Took a few hours. Dropped the lock to lock from 3 turns to 2.5.

Measured the hub placement at the tie rod mount before disassembly. Looks like it is damn close to bang on but still taking it in for an alignment before I drive it anywhere.

No more leaks! At least running in position while I am standing there watching it.

Ps. It isn't my garage. I am very lucky my brother in law lets me use his for this kind of stuff. I work on his vehicles a bunch so it works out.
