That ad will be gone in no time. Some coy boy IL pick it up with grandiose intentions, then it will sit in the yard till the wife makes him put it back on kijihi. .
9 hp may be weak but it's a start of a new segment that was needed. Perf shops will be along to hop em up a Lil just like the 120's.
It's a Yamaha engine (their logo right on the recoil in the ZR) so you can bet they will have a version as well.
Team 8 just rolled in behind 2nd place. One of the sleds has heavy damage to right front suspension. After all the effort at least they get to see the finish line.
It's not a refueling station. Location determined by individual teams, they are to pre stage fuel, race sleds arrive and drivers fuel themselves. Support team to stand by providing no assistance.
This is the only time in the race where refueling is allowed at a non designated location, teams support crew arranges to have fuel ready but cannot assst in the actual fueling. 120 miles between checkpoints Ruby and Tanana is the reason for this one exception.
The way the official DQ release reads: "The crew providing fuel made contact with the racer's snowmobiles"
That does not sound like a case of random bystanders approaching to help.
Agree on the sponsors are going to be miffed. These are both Factory sponsored teams; alot at stake and results will be used for marketing.
I really feel for team 8 here, they ran a great program.
I don't think they were blatantly trying to gain an advantage in this case but these guys are very experienced in this race and should have known better. There will always be greater scrutiny on the frontrunners in any race.
I can't even imagine how tough this race would be on mind and body and this is when these type of mistakes happen unfortunately.
Nowhere it the rules does it say you can bend them if you have a big lead. It does suck for them to be disqualified but the rules are black and white and the participants must educate themselves on them. Knowing and following the rules of the race is part of the race.
Ever try a Gates carbon? Can get them from Ideal Supply, cost less than OEM too. I've had great luck with them and Polaris Belts are right in that cost range as your AC.
