in the 90s and the 00s i had three Subways plus a Crabby Joes Franchise. it would take three franchises to make a good annual income without standing there making sandwiches. I was younger and had more energy than now. The real money was in selling your franchise, which most of us owners did in the mid 00s. It has been attempted at every restaurant I have ever owned. I used to have Subway franchises, we inventory our bread and compare it to daily sales. It must all be accounted for. Had two high school kids that would bring in a dozen or so sub buns from a grocery store in their back packs. They could turn 6 dollars worth of bread into 80dollars worth of subs every time. That one took awhile to catch.

I have the WiFi strength on the router turned down to 10percent so that they can’t sit outside on breaks and surf. I have 8 cameras that I can watch remotely on my phone or iPad. They know it and i use it a lot. It has probably saved me thousands of dollars.

Last month I had 6 employees at 13 to 14 an hour . They will all be at 14 for at least a year. No more shift manager bonuses to be paid out. I was actually happy to get a 1748 dollar hydro bill at my restaurant the other day. It actually included Wynne lates vote buying discount. Saved just under 350 dollars off the bill. Many of these people are just looking for the next bingo game or trip to casino to spend their money. Maybe one of them makes a trip to the reserve for a few “bags of smokes” . This should have been done within a few weeks of election and she may have gotten a more substantial bump from the electorate. Just spent the last 2 days reviewing my menu prices. Just raised every item 8to 12 percent. Slashed 12 hours out of schedule for Thursday through Sunday. Will slash further next week. My Labour cost on January 1st was 48 percent of sales with stat pay applied. Next year will be closed for most stats. Will open for stats during Summer months. I hope the seniors can still afford to dine out or there may be 18 people looking for work. I am only open to make money. I will close the first month that there is a loss.
