Again you're wrong Jimmy, Polaris went from one line part-time to running double shifts full-time for snowmobile production and had to move wheeler production to other factories because of demand.

Same thing. Not running full shifts as they do not have the parts. What part of this goes above your pee sized brain?

Maybe this is all over your head.  But regardless of how many sleds produced a lesser amount going forward are branded cat..meaning cat dealers don't sell them...meaning less sales for them.   Record powersports sales volumes across all brands and you're saying cats production dropped from 350/day to 100-150/day!   Doo/poo are in the position they are in due to parts availability issues driven by demand, meaning producing more volume than planned.   Not due to less volume than they used to have.

Not over my head what so ever. Poo and Doo are also down to lower volumes of sleds being built per day. The Boost was at 90 per day. Less availability of parts to build means less sleds built per day. Not rocket science! F###k some people are to ignorant to realize they just said the same thing. Building 2022 sleds into April for Poo,
Doo and Cat tells me you need to pull head out and breath some fresh air. They are usually done building sleds in December. All brands. BTW, Cat sold will have sold every sled they built regardless of if the snow checker buys it or the dealer sells it at invoice or above.

So basically you are saying cat doesn't have the sales to produce 350 a day for their dealers like they used so they wanna get back to that number by building for the competition.

Their dealers are loosing out on sales plain and simple.

They did not have the parts to build that many sleds a day and they also had worker shortages just like every one else has delt with. They have plans on bringing in up to 500 more workers btw. Dealers of all brands are suffering the same fate. Ask the Poo riders who wont get there sled till the end of April. Same for Doo.

the older and blinder i get the bigger screen i want.  I am running a 7" nuvi on both sled and wheeler.  for under a grand I will upgrade to the 8" treat but not at 1300.  Esp to get birdseye on it

I had Lasik surgery and my close vision sucks but I have had no problems seeing the 5" Garmin. The Trail mount moves it further into the dash which is going to be even more of a benefit to me as the further back it is the better I see.

Regardless of the supply chain issues, Cat is giving up production capacity for higher margin full size sleds in order to produce low margin sleds for the competition.    They can only build xx amount of sleds total a year and now a smaller percentage of that volume benefits their dealers whether it be sales on a higher volume of car branded youth sleds or full size cat sleds.

You can look at it that way or they just plan on getting back to  producing what they are capable of producing, which is up to 350 sleds a day. Been at 100-150 this past year.

    base treads too small IMO.

i should have said above the 8" tread is what i want,  although the 7" overlander is priced better.

I have been using a Garmin 5" Garmin nuvi for years. Worked just fine for me. Cost to use for my money. The tread is a better value than the Poo gauge being able to use it on multiple different vehicles. That is what is important to me.

I'm a cat guy (all I ride)  and I know better than that... they are struggling I see it every round at snocross. in XC Herf has had how many DNF's with some of the greatest guys in the industry at his back.

Herf just took his third straight 500. Pretty consistent with old tech. Brown won the previous race both stock and mod. Bennum won in Fargo. Lots of sleds DNF but most were from crashes. Not sure you even know your point. New does not always mean better.

Lots of Polaris in the DNF even with all those new and improved updates.

I can hear the printers already firing up the stop sale/ride of this model .... Jk I had to get a shot in

    Polaris:

2020 - new track new rear tunnel setup

    2021 - fuel injection introduced

2022 - new ecu and refinements to fuel injection

    AC:

    2020 awol

2021 - return of fuel injection to the rail rather then the back of the cylinder

    2022 - unchanged

    Skidoo:

2020 - new rails, heat exchanger, new arm geometery, ecu company change

2021 - new shocks (why improve when you're dominating everyone)

2022 - side panel refinements, seat changes, severe changing in oem venting, changed intake , changed injectors, changed engine mounts, changed brakes

There has been substantial changes in snocross for most of the brands but simply put cat didn't change much.

Yet Cat is is still competitive without any changes. Why change when you can win with what is proven?

Only a select few people could turn Cat using their production capacity to build cheap low margin youth products for the competition instead of building more higher margin full size product into a postive.

And of that select few only a couple would still defend that business decision while still waiting for their 2022 to bet built....

I cant make my sled appear by snapping my fingers no more than the Poo and Doo folk still waiting for there sled. My sled is built but shocks and gauges are the issue and Cat made the correct call on not sending it out to the dealer to complete the manufacturing of the sled. That is Poo. What good is a sled sitting at the dealer with out shocksor a gauge going to do for you? I suppose you could just go there every day and sit by the box and cuddle.

200s and 120s are loss leaders sold at msrp. Always have and always will be. That’s why doo and Polaris stopped making them 15 years ago. The dealers were sick of them.

My dealer loves selling the 200's as he makes money on them so not sure why Poo could not make any money on there build. Must be something in the water up in Roseau.

Well, I sincerely hope you helped raise some funds for hospice.  Wife, family and myself are big supporters of our local program.

At $1,100 so far. That is what I have raised I should clarify.

I'll have to check it out again, looked like an add on last time i saw 1. I use the next stage gauge on mine and love it. Cat should team up with him to build their factory stuff. Does so much more than just gps

Only problem with next stage is the wires stick out under the gauge and you have to remember to charge it up or it may or may not light up the gauge when you go on your next ride. I use a goggle bag and I dont think it would fit properly with that and I want my garmin to go with my Alterra 600 that I hope to have this coming summer. Probably January the way things are playing out though.

  13. 16 minutes ago, Cat45 said:

I agree on the garmin, they just need to make it look more like it's built into the sled not an add on. Iike my procross too, hated it at 1st but it's getting better. I ride with an assault that i like better than my rr but he's constantly having issues with it

With the Trail mount it looks like it is built in and it is also up nice and high above the gauge so it is always in site. Quick disconnect so it can be taken off the sled for the theft proof feeling.

He's so full of shit and himself. Hes the guy in town that people will roll there eyes and nod there head when he starts babbling on.

The recent club ride pics show how much cat dominance there is in his area.

I was on it and it was about 50 50 Cat Poo with a couple three doos.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, no way this won't connect to satellite on its own.

It did not connect last season on it's debut either. Foolish doo. Better buy a Garmin. No cell service required.

I think new plastics, better graphics and a gps gauge would help them alot in sales. Everyone now wants all the high tech elctronic stuff plus lots of people are afraid of getting lost. The adventure of getting out and exploring is scary to them

They went smart on GPS and went with a Garmin that you can transfer form machine to machine. Way cheaper and being you can use it on more than your sled, way more useful. I personally love the looks of the Pro Cross. Best looking sled on snow. Calling the Matrix all new when it still is using the basic Indy chassis does not make it new in my eyes. Same for Doo.

Welcome to the party... you're a little late on hundreds of post regarding the supply chain issues.

Historically speaking when there are evolutionary changes coming they are built and tested with the race sleds first.  Also, if not for Herfindahl (much like TH68) the old Procross in racing these days is not competitive.  But you live in a little green bubble where thousands of people are riding bLasts and marketing 'the past' is perfectly acceptable.   The rest of the world is moving forward.  @Ziemann a Cat guy from HCS seems to enjoy his new Polaris and others have moved on to other brands as well.  @Not greg b, you ordering a 2023 Cat after having dozens of them?   You, and a few seem incapable of seeing past the ancient history that once WAS Arctic Cat.

Hope you put your asbestos underwear on for this place.  ;)

Well Dave Brown won the race before, on a Cat so your Herfindahl theory is already shot. Kind of like you and riding from the sound of it.

He's not buying either way just an internet critic bench racer.

There are a lot of them out there. I am hoping to push past 1000 miles this weekend. Supposed to be like a teeter totter weather wise though. We have a Fun run (use to be called poker run) on Saturday so that will be a ride regardless of the weather.
