  1. My xrs rips the corners, I got it set up perfectly now imo. It’s not as flat cornering as an axys or procross but i can’t tell a difference between prestons X and my xrs as far as handling and ride height are concerned. Over the past few rides I’ve tweaked the rebound and got the rear skid dialed in, I’m down to 3 on the compression adjusters on both the front and rear track shocks and have the torsions set to 3 with couplers set to 2. Sag is perfect and it hooks pretty hard even with a rip 1. The 1.5” studs make all the difference in the world compared to the short 1.325s doo recommends which are useless with that track.

@bussman can comment on handling coming from a cat. Poo and cat have the best front suspensions in the business as of now, Maybe the RAS X evens it out.

It’s fucking garbage. Seriously I wouldn’t have paid $2000 for it. 1400 miles and the thing is blown up and junk. I’d rather own a fusion 900 than any procross chassis sled.

It looks like a pile of fucking meth heads designed it in less than 24hrs

278 miles on a 2019 ctec 800 and it blew it up. The meth is strong at the cat plant

i assume short block is all it would need  with crank imploding

I'd venture to guess the turbo is toast too being a journal bearing design? Either way, i feel for woolie.  That sucks.  He blows up a 2 stroke, goes to a 4 stroke for reliability purposes and this happens.  Fuckin sleds. They're all great until they break.

Shit happens, I was covered,  It's all good. I'd own another 800 Etec without even thinking twice about it:bc:

Kids sled (my Renegade XRS 800 that I rode the past 3 seasons) had an issue with the mag side injector. Caused it to lean out and took out the mag side.  They replaced the short block, injector, reeds and some other odds and ends.  Cost me $ 53 out of pocket :bc:

When Analreceiver's goes down, then what will he be saying. :bc:

Maybe ride it some more and don’t use ethanol fuel and you wouldn’t have had a sticky injector :bc:

Picked up sled from dealer today. Parts alone was $5,178.38.  That's not including coolant or labor. Their labor rate is $110/hr.

Glad I took the 4th year warranty instead of $250 in parts and accessories. Cost me $53 out of pocket for the deductible.

I'll never not take the most warranty available.  It's just not worth it to get parts or accessories instead of extra coverage. :bc:

Jesus, the fuckin thing come uncunted or what? The doo mechanic up in land o lakes WI told Preston and Steve that he would never buy an 800 etec. Said the 850s have been much better.

I sell and install AO Smith, installed plenty of them in 33 years, residential water heaters today have an 8 - 12 yr. lifespan. The oldest WH I’ve ever replaced was a 42 yr. old AO Smith and it wasn’t leaking, the customer was just being proactive.

how have the vertex heaters been?  Anything I should be doing maintenance wise?

  7. the Axys front, specifically the xcr is superior to the RAS 3 on the G4. It cornered flatter and felt more confident in nearly all conditions with the same bergstrom shim/7.5 shaper setup. The RAS 3 is good though. With pilot 5.7s. I’ve heard bad things about the TS skis on the G4.

r motion wins as far as rear suspension comfort goes. Weight transfer and hook up go to my xcr.

850 etec is slightly better then the poo 800ho, specifically in the midrange. Bottom end feels comparable. The etec is a smoother engine, that’s obvious.

chassis ergos go to the axys but the G4 is also very good, IMO

Its a more settled and comfortable ride. The shorties can get squirrely if you dont stud them good and arent as planted on the trail. I feel you can ride faster on the longer track because it is that much more settled. Acceleration is better, gaps bumps better and handles better IMO. As far as the quicker handling of the short tracks I feel its too minimal to warrant. Now if you are a ditch banger or SX then the short track may have some advantage, I am just not in that demo any longer.

I always thought my 121 xcr accelerated and handled very well, and rode fairly decent all things considered. I’m not sure I’d want anything longer then a 121 in that specific sled.

The r motion on my XRS is fantastic though and I find that the pro 40s are also very good. I think I have it dialed in pretty well. Limiter strap on hole 1, fts lightly compressed, and rebound set to 5 of like 30 on both front and rear track shocks

rear torsions on 2 of 5. Couplers on 2. Sag is perfect. It hooks and rides really well
