  1. I don't equate popularity with substance. I stand by my comment. I've met Kevin and spent 2 days in a room with him. He is a douchebag and best if he's left on TV. Whoops - up they go again. What is that sucking sound? More money for mortgage payments being sucked out of people's wallets.
  2. There you go making things up. O'Leary is a total douchebag and has no place in politics let alone leading a party.
  3. I'm indifferent on the guy. Figured Max the frog was going to win the leadership. Still wish Peter MacKay would have run.
  4. Please point to stimulus spending in the crisis that I wasn't in favour of? Unfortunately we have a front row seat to the worst PM in history. I want to dig up Jack Layton and kill him again for doing this to us.
  5. Harper was elected in 2006 and the financial crisis hit in 2008. So you like what he did in his early years, the tax cuts and then the spending to save the economy? The spending the liberals voted for and even demanded........
  6. Got a list of the stimulus spending the liberals voted against during the recession? I will wait while you ask your union delegate.
  7. No question the GST cut reduced government revenue resulting in a larger deficit during the Great Recession. Just like JTs tax cut is adding to the deficit. The difference is all about timing. Stimulus spending during a recession leading to a deficit is smart. Running massive deficits during a period of growth is bad management.
  8. Yes - with the revenue from the GST. Do you like it or hate it? Pick one. It can't be both.
  9. You could have just typed - "Oh I was wrong" and saved yourself some time. The GST was the PCs and Johnny side talking Chrétien and his band of merry lying Liberals where going to get rid of it - remember. But never managed to get around to it. It was a necessary evil to save us from the path of financial distraction Little PETs daddy put us on. Dman, I forgot how stupid you are. Go back to sleep. Your public sector union is looking out for you.
  10. Jesus. The Cons lowered GST - twice. That is a bigger tax break for the "poor" as sales taxes are regressive. The Liberals lowered the capital gains inclusion rate from 75%-66.6%-50% The Cons created TFSAs The Cons introduced income splitting Paul Martin cut income tax rates Just off the top of my head oh and the Cons "indexed" the income tax bracket thresholds to prevent inflation from increasing taxes for everyone
  11. You've gotten lots of tax breaks from the Feds in the past. From both Liberals and Cons. You're just too stupid to realize it. I'm far from miserable and I certainly do. Surprisingly things just keep getting better - 20+ yrs in.
  12. And it's not my fault I'm where I am. But keep punishing success and rewarding failure. It fits with your MO.
  13. Too funny. There is that Liberal class warfare bullshit again. The biggest insult is that the "tax cut" to the middle class has been done on the backs of our kids and grandkids. Because it is directly being funded by the deficit. Much like the stupid hydro rate cut by the Ontario liberals. Pay for "my" kids sports? Have you read up on the handouts under the CCB program? They are massive. But of course we don't qualify for those. We've been too responsible and hard working.
  14. Like I said - my taxes went up. And my benefits and write offs went down. Income splitting was taken away, No UCCB and now I can't even write off my kids sports and art expenses. The amount I can slam into a TFSA and shelter from tax also went down etc etc The result is I pay more in taxes and get less write offs and benefits. And no shit we were in a recession under Harper. Most of the developed world was. They call it the "Great Recession" for a reason. That is when deficit spending makes sense. What's the Liberal's excuse for it now?
  15. Yes Failmaker my taxes are up and my benefits are down. And taxes are likely to continue to rise. We will see if the Cap Gains inclusion rate moves up to 75%. I suspect it will - but JT will spin it as a tax on the rich The Liberals love their class warfare. The last tax increase was supposed to pay for a bunch of their promises. We only have to look at the deficit to see their spending is out of control Deficit spending in recessionary times makes sense. Massive deficit spending in the midst of a strong global recovery, low unemployment etc etc is just bad management.
  16. Give us a quick list of Trudeau policies and legislation that has fueled this growth...... But hey, my taxes are up, my benefits are down and the deficit is balloning.
  17. It would have been easier for you to just post you got nothing. But im sure you're hurting since The Rebel started imploding.
  18. I know. Makes me laugh. Our media is pretty good and not nearly as polarized as it is in the US. Could it be called "left leaning" by a Sun or Rebel fan - I guess. But that certainly doesn't make it not "independent". Obviously the CBC is a unique case I'm just glad it's not as messed up it is in the US. The left-right bias is nuts. I will say I'm kinda glad Sun TV imploded because we don't need American style right wing media. But I'm not a Paledeau fan either.
  19. I'd question someone saying the earth is flat too.
  20. I didn't make the batshit crazy claim now did I.
  21. Really? So the largest public media companies aren't independent? They are controlled by the government? They can't cover the stories they wish to or publish what they want? Come on. Who are they bought buy and how are they paid?
