  1. Yes that's where my place is and they are the Club I have supported for the last 30 years.  I far as finding volunteers, they have always had an issue finding people.  The current groomer driver is getting long in the tooth.  They need some young blood to step up.   Good luck I hope it works out.

Hey guys I have a Seadoo Speedster 2008 215 horsepower jet boat and when I'm driving it I randomly get a long beep followed by a short beep sometimes it seems that's not the beep

that comes up but for the most part I believe it's a long beep followed by short beep it has a digital dash in it but I don't know how to take a code or know what's wrong with it can anyone help?

    For what it's worth....

Here is all the info on the DESS codes.
    DESS Codes/ Beeps
2 Short beeps …the engine is ready to start
1 Long beep …no communication to MPEM
4 Short beeps… (on Jet Boats) Shifter is in gear
    8 Short beeps…defective MPEM
    1 Continual beep…engine over heating

    Advanced Self- Diagnostic Mode

By pushing the start/stop button 5 times, you’re putting the DESS in advanced diagnostics. When you have successfully done this, you'll hear 1 short, 1 long beep then, put on the lanyard cap. The engines should start if everything is ok.

2 Short beeps means MPEM can’t read the lanyard cap or it has bad magnet. It could be a bad wire connection at the Lanyard switch.
2 Long beeps means wrong lanyard or bad connection of DESS connection
3 beeps signal the wiring harness of the DESS switch are grounded, or a short circuit somewhere.

Post #3; you're welcome.  There was no need to read any further.....

If the wires are as old as the boat, I'd do them too.  Especially if the boat sits in the water a lot, is damp, etc.

Yep, I said the same.....but there is no way that thing ran fine when it was stored, 13 mph...way more to the story....lol

Court rules that BRP willfully infringed Arctic Cat’s patents on safety technology

June 14, 2016 06:20 PM Eastern Daylight Time

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Arctic Cat Inc. (NASDAQ: ACAT) announced that a federal court judge for the Southern District of Florida (Miami) awarded triple damages of $46.7 million USD in a patent-infringement suit filed by Arctic Cat against Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (TSE: BBD.B) and BRP U.S. Inc. Initially, a jury awarded Arctic Cat just over $15 million USD on June 1, 2016, after unanimously finding that the defendants willfully infringed all asserted claims in two of Arctic Cat’s patents for an innovative off-throttle assisted steering technology. Arctic Cat’s technology is an important safety mechanism designed to prevent on-water collisions and accidents in personal watercraft (PWC). Today, the federal judge tripled the damages in the case, due to the makers of the Sea-Doo jet propulsion PWC committing willful infringement.

Christopher Metz, Arctic Cat’s president and chief executive officer, stated: “We are very pleased with today’s court ruling. The jury and federal court judge found that each of our patents in this case were valid, and agreed that BRP willfully infringed on our patents over the course of many years.”

The suit concerned a long-standing safety concern in the PWC industry: the inability to steer PWC once the throttle is released, which can occur in emergency situations, particularly for inexperienced riders. Arctic Cat developed a novel and effective off-throttle thrust mechanism to make PWC safer. The technology provides riders with temporary “steerable thrust” when the rider turns in off-throttle situations to help prevent fatalities and injuries from collisions. The United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded Arctic Cat patents for this off-throttle steering technology, entitled “Controlled Thrust Steering System for Watercraft."

At issue in the case were 151,790 model year 2009 through 2015 Sea-Doo personal watercraft. These models infringed 10 claims of Arctic Cat’s U.S. Patent Numbers 6,793,545 (“the ‘545 Patent”) and 6,568,969 (“the ‘969 Patent”). Nicholas Boebel of the law firm Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP and Aaron Myers, Niall MacLeod and Diane Peterson, co-counsel at Kutak Rock LLP, represented Arctic Cat at trial.

Doubt that will happen. Talked to a lot of friends and everyone says that they guy running the marina has just given up and doesn't care anymore.

They didn't pay to fix the damage their roof collapsing on the tower of the boat cause. They tried to blame a prop that was folded in half on us as well. When that didn't fly they put a shitty used prop on it in place.

    Wow different prop too?

You should list everything that changed since last fall and work backwards.  There is no amount of speculation that can help your problem until you know what you have now.

yeah no kidding. There is an easy resolution to this which is just taking it to our tige dealer, port sandalled marina would have this fixed in 5 mins I'm sure.

Only 120k short of that being an option

Marina is owned by friends of our family on Muskoka. They are not doing well so my dad insists on giving them business when he can.

no fresh gas in it. Also it is a mystery how I dropped it off at the marina with over 3/4 full tank and it was almost bone dry when we picked it up...but thats a whole other can of worms.

What a nightmare.....for the record, I assume it ran fine last summer??  However, now after sitting exposed to rain and snow.......not to mention the fuel system was found empty the boat now runs like shit......

hey guys, we have a GM Vortex 5.7L (340 hp) motor in our wakeboard boat that won't accelerate under load. With people in it and some ballast it can't get over 13mph.

It was left in the rain by the marina before being covered up wet and stored for the winter. We picked it up and its a horrific mess, had to replace both batteries and a new starter just to get it running (the 'marina' couldn't get it running in 2 weeks of 'trying'). I suspect that they either entirely forgot to winterize it or improperly winterized it.  On the weekend we replaced the distributor cap and it can get up on plane with no weight or passengers but still runs like shit. In neutral the engine seems to run half decent.

Anyone have a suggestion on what could be causing this?

Start by draining and drying the hull.  Nothing like leaving a boat outside uncovered and protected in the rain and snow......once done baseline the engine.  The usual fuel, oil, spark, prop, lower end......find a new Marina after you send them the bill.....

And perhaps some Canadians thought that stopping the flow of Communism was a good thing.

Remember at the time we had a Communist Prime Minister......Oh wait......what's his kid up to?

  11. It is no different than the real estate market.  Plenty of hypocrites on here.....if there is money to be made people will exploit. Look at the  Climate Change bullshit, exploit, tax and get rich.  The Hip would be lucky to sell out if this shit didn't happen.  All bullshit

  12. For sure they will, just your home is another tax grab.   When is enough enough....between Wynbag and Justine we, especially Ontario, is fucked......but on a positive note Justine is flying the gay colours on parlament hill......what an insult

  13. The biggest problem with the boom market....MPAC will assess your property value.  They just did mine again.  My taxes have more than doubled in 10 years thanks to this lovely booming market.
