Calling it a "hate crime" is a bit much.  Somebody knocks off my Ski-Doo hat..... no biggie.

Shit, that happens every time you ride......I'm surprised you don't have a lanyard on that cap....

  2. I think my first sled ride was in 1962 or 1963 or so on one of the original wood ski Skidogs, my first new sled was a 1977 Polaris SS340 Colt, I was 17, couple years after I bought 1979 Polaris TX 340.....40 years later I have another new sled on deck..2017 XCR800...time has flown by....

Just saw on the news that a guy is suing Hydro. His hydro was lost at the cottage near Kingston last October due to a fallen tree.

    http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/ont-man-suing-over-electricity-charges-for-cottage-without-power-1.3061684

Last October, a tree fell on a power line leading to Kip Van Kempen’s cottage on Mazinaw Lake, north of Kingston, Ont. Hydro One crews came and cut the tree and disconnected the line but they were unable to repair the power line because of red tape and logistical issues. It took eight months for Hydro One to restore the electricity to the Ajax resident’s all-season cottage. When Van Kempen later received his electricity bill, he said he was stunned.

“At that point the smoke was coming out my ears,” he told CTV Toronto. “If you’re not providing it (electricity) to the building, because you snipped the wires to the building, then you’re not delivering it. How can you charge a delivery charge?”

Hydro One charged Van Kempen hundreds of dollars in delivery fees for the months his cottage was without electricity. The bill even shows his electricity usage per day during those months as zero. The delays in restoring power to the cottage were due in part to the lack of accessibility. Van Kempen’s cottage is only accessible by ATV or boat. He said he tried repeatedly, for months, to make repairs and secure the inspections needed to reconnect the power.

Mazinaw is south of my place, in Griffith, which is north of Napanee, not Kingston.....but for the record electrical power drops out a few times per week in this area.  He will get nothing back, normally.......  Now that he has the press leverage he will get some back.

He will get his money back I am betting, but on that note how much did it cost to repair the line?  10K?  who is paying for that? "delivery charges" Van will not pay one cent for the repairs to his lonely cottage........

just stating facts - think about it

We need to go back to the days of subsidized rates like our parents and Poncho, 02sled and other old as fuck people enjoyed for decades.....

Shit we figured you Overdosed.  Thank Wynnebag you are alive....too bad for us....welcome back

  5. Last month hydro bill was 385.00 one month, I'm on actuals. This month is 325.00. My buddy in Quebec where everything is powered by hydro was 126 and 118, same months same usage....oh forgot to mention this includes his pool heater. My gas bill was 250....so last month was 635.00 hydro/gas, one month. I run the same type of pool.  We wonder people are leaving

  6. My buddy thought about bottling water from his well in the Ottawa Valley and selling it, but that was 1969 and the figured no one would ever pay for that......well what can I say......we are a fuck'n stupid society.....we now pay for bottled water.  This is worse than the Global Warming bull shit.

Unfortunately, it is a sign of the times, and a lot more clubs, including our local one, are experiencing a phase were the older guys that have carried these clubs for years just cann,t do it any longer.

Kinda sad, but I don,t see many young folks who have the resources to afford an expensive sport like sledding,  have much interest in any club maintenance or activities.

It truly is a dying sport. Lesser clubs, and lesser trails, unless clubs can afford to pay workers to groom and maintain the trails....

Frosty what was the out come of the meeting. Any word

We ran out two weeks ago.  I  knew I was low, stopped in at Golden Oro on the north side of Kempenfelt..... got 8 litres out of their tank and they ran out.  Went to Hawkestone, fucker ran out about 9 miles from home.  Had 10 litres onboard for the generator..... That got us about 5-6 miles (not bad for a 454 - Lol).  My buddy then came out on a Sea-Doo with another 10 litres to get us to the marina.

When my gauge shows empty..... she's really empty.

    Good thing you don't fly....
