your example is poor, weak,  you  said everyone in my office?   all the Stock Markets are not in the same office - some have bigger offices :dunno:

You pick your investments, its that simple if you didn't make the same as the other guys try harder to invest better - or shut up

You know the sad part is whether you make 1% or 20% most are paying the same for that tidbit.  Where is the incentive?  And they make fun of government employees.

The problem with Seneca (or at least it used to be), was that you do/did no flying in your first year.  It was essentially an academic wash-out year.
    Is it still that way?

First year is at Newnham campass.  The next three are in Peterborough.  3 years straight, no breaks.

you do know this is in comparison and dosn't mean  ours is bad, matter of fact people have made a ton of money lately just like you.

Times are good and are the best we had in a very long time - people are working and spending money.

    be happy AC

Oh I have made money in the Canadian markets and pretty sure I even posted the references dating back years now.  But that's not the index, however there are better places to put your money.  Max 20% in Canada.

Regardless...rev was right.....he said the premiums are really high....they prefer if the person buys the sled....

Yes I acknowledged that.  I can imagine the premiums must be very high and prohibitive further south.

Well i have to eat crow.... @revkevsdi i right. The guy just called back. You have an option....you buy the sled at its perceived value or you can pay the 2500 and walk away.

That ad would have been deceiving if that were not the case.

They have about 4 months of sledding there, so they can likely afford higher insurance premiums.

:lol:You get to read the headline and then the pop up comes out.... Fail would say it is all a lie and anti-Canadian. Don't forget he is far more knowledgeable about all things financial than those experts who study and work in the world of finance. Their jobs depend on their expertise.

The ones with the best track records don't make market predictions, yet focus on picking the best companies and holding them until their time is up.  That is why I'm overweight in go anywhere Global Equities.  Having most of you eggs invested in Canada has not been wise move.

Watching them flounder around clueless all morning was good for a chuckle.  Don’t worry they’ll have an excuse. That place and at least one other at $2,500.00 There is another one that offers 35.00 per day to get it down to $1,000.00 deductible.

So is that where you rented?  Not driving to KL to pick up a sled I intend riding elsewhere.  Not the norm.  So you didn't lie but you're still a beta.

very True. My son has been flying for a year and a half and its all he talks about so I would be surprised if he failed at this one.

He was even checking out words in Mandarin the other day.............lol

See mine has not and we offered.

I knew that was making fun.

I looked into that recently. Was trying to find a cheaper way to fund the Kids career. But it didn't make sense to me at the time.

Now he is going Flight school in the fall and I don't really want to own a plane.

Mine got accepted at Seneca.  Not mine or mom's first choice, but we both know he will love it and will be good at it.

For some the restriction they face is more time related than cost. There seems to be a correlation between the amount of leisure time one has available and what they are willing to spend to maximize that limited leisure time enjoyment. When you want maximum enjoyment in a small window of time cost may not be a concern.

With limited leisure time one may find they change activities every now and then. One of the very large boats in Midland, 50' range is for sale. The owner with limited leisure time has decided boating has run it's course for him and it's time for a change. He is going to buy an airplane and go flying this year.

Thats been the case for me.  Now I'm offloading as much as I can to have more time.

I just want a name...i rented from backcountry...you gave me a few more names when i was looking....they all specifally stated the damage policy...

Id like the name @revkevsdi....i wouldnt mind doing business with them if thats how they operate.

If the trails did not get pooched we would have needed one.  I'm sure the others would be interested in what @revkevsdi guys are doing if true.

i think you would be surprised,  sure it's as much as anything a service to sell rooms but at 250-300 a day on a machine that doesn't depreciate badly they are making money after 10 rental days and at a place like northern outdoors i would bet they get 20+ days per machine.

Most don't offer high end sleds and they do get great rates for Barney sleds.  Most who rent are first timers and just want to ride out and back, a couple hours at most.  Not high risk.  Would like to see the numbers.

People will spend whatever for fun.  Some even own airplanes...lol

Just checked, I've owned too many snowmobiles, most of mine were purchased new; however, I bought my first new Doo in 1997, Formula 500, for 4272.00 out the door....my last Doo was a 2010 GSX 1200 that was 12300 out the door. ....between my wife and I we used to buy a brand new Doo every year since 97 until 2010.......number just keep sliding to the the right every year...as do fuel prices.

Got a strange feeling I might end up buying one of those in the next few years.

yup i would guess thats self insured.  Most of these guys running rental fleets can patch the sled back together on the cheap and keep renting it and lets face the fact the average 600 or 900 ace renters not sending it like larry enticer it's typically a minor bump or rollover where the $500 covers it.  When i put maryann on her roof at a fairly decent clip it only cost me under 400 in parts as doo makes everything so modular.  Most expensive pieces were the side panel which i could not find a red one used and the glovebox exension which were $220 between them

I've also seen a few totaled, over 7k.

Are you saying you haven’t been able to find the rental places in Ontario that offer insurance?

Not the main guys around me.  Did you read the fine print?
