I'd say we all kind of think the guy did it. But the copsade sure he was convicted. That's not the way justice is supposed to work.

His new lawyer doesn't and she claims she will prove it.  Apparently they are doing advanced luminous testing, blood evidence can't be completly cleaned away even decades later and cell records that prove the girl left the property.

The county must be shitting bricks about now.

Volume of people but more the stigma many tried to portray. Either they acted like 10 cent million airs or Jimmy Buffett want a be.  Early on it was quite basic fishing area. The biggest attraction for most is to say i live on an island. Water is wonderful to look at but it's at a cost hawks Kay would tell people to dive around the island you eventually felt like a side show. People thought nothing of walk on are property even go behind the house and take  pictures of them selves on my dock few time on one of the boats. Eventually I fixed that with a shepherd.

The community of duck key push hard for a gate at the first bridge over the canal. It was shut down by hawks Kay. Later it was discovered all homes on island had to hookup to under ground septic at 26k per home. It was later discovered after all homes complied that the the development pushed to recover it's under ground utility cost the county pushed it through for monthly payments.  The kicker was the septic design of each home was far better environmentally then the main treatment plant. Each home had an aerobic system once contaminate left the system it was drinking water quality.

    Who tested that?

My clients are some of the biggest contractors in the country. But I am small potatoes in comparison so they could crush me like a bug if they wanted. I have good personal relationships with the people I deal with and they help me out when they can. But I have been burned by people that I have had long standing great relationships with. It happened just this spring.

Would I do a project for the Clintons? Idk. I guess it would depend on the circumstances. If the money was in escrow and they had a solid GC on board I would consider it. But I wont even bid a job if the money hasnt been dedicated. I havent heard of alot of stories of the Clintons burning contractors out of cash. Just leaving a trail of dead bodies behind them.

Everything is great until the extra money needs to come from someone who was not expecting it.:bc:

I don't condone this at all, in fact I think it is bullshit.  But, I also know people who work with people/companies that are like this and yet they still keep doing jobs for that company.

Yup, it depends on how the relationship ends.

Its news because Trump has a history of "re-negotiating" contracts after the work is complete. The Taj Mahal stories I believe to be true because I have heard similar stories from contractors when they built Trump Tower in Chicago. Its not an issue of "over-charging" and Trump was being frugal... Its blatant hostage type tactics to screw the subs out of every last penny they can. You've been a contractor for 20 years then you know when someone decides to tie up money it can take years pursuing it thru the courts and with liens. The legal fees and possible interest you may be paying on this money being tied up can make the battle fruitless. Trump knows this and uses those tactics. Its something we call "waving the carrot" in front of you. " Here, I can pay you this amount now. Otherwise you are going to have to come after the rest" We all know companies who are notorious for this.

Now I asked if you are a Trump supporter and you didnt answer. Because you have been beating your chest talking about how you stay away from deals like this. Deals that Trump is notorious for. I think it is odd that you would support him when you wouldnt do business with his "type"

I think both Trump and Hillary are both a complete joke and I am not a supporter of either.  I see Trump as the lessor of two evils though.  I see it as renegotiating the extras that fall outside the original contract and worked on a project last year where both the mechanical and electrical contractors were asked to take about 70% of their extras they were claiming ( about 8 million in total).  That is what I believe they settled on.  For projects like these, Trump and most contractors will setup subsidiaries to protect themselves, ie Trump will protect his other assets from claims and contractors will protect the main business from lawsuits etc.

Shit how many have expressed displeasure with CONtractors, but lets not go there.

I am a contractor, but do not work or live in your world.  My customers are mainly the F500 companies and mid sized players (> billion plus annual sales) and work in production based expansion or new construction projects.  I automate the process that controls the production, so we kind of hold most of the cards.  I will be paid, that is a given, unless the general or end user goes bankrupt.

Would you take on a project run by the Clinton's?

Dude, you should give classes for contractors. I dont know of a single one who has not been screwed over somewhere. Until now. The world needs to know, please tell us!

    Are you a Donald supporter?

I been in business for over 20 years and I have been paid in full every time, but I still take out insurance when appropriate.

The original OP story, the contractor was paid 11 out of 12 million for the work completed with the balance being deemed extras.  He then went after his final payment (legitimately) and received 70% of the remaining 1 million owed.  Why is this even news?

  7. So Robbie didn't say the things on the video they claimed he did.  I was actually hoping he called Trudeau a fag, oh well.  Maybe Doolittle watched a different version than the one shown.  RIP.

I liked duck key...my wife and I stayed at Hawks Cay there quite a few times over the years.

I found nassau to be much nicer then freeport....both were too busy for my liking though.

    Turks n Caicos is perfect.

Have not been to Freeport, liked Nassau but it would get boring after a bit.  I am not a fan of just flopping on a beach, so I would likely want to leave after a week in Turks.

Well that's all great that you stay away but how do you know who is bad until you or someone else gets burned? I am not talking about foolish people here who rolled the dice.

I don't roll the dice, I take out insurance for the final payment.  If I can't get my payment terms, we walk.
