Lots of companies make VR stuff now. There is a cardboard set that just holds your phone in it lol. There are a few options that just holds your phone and your phone becomes the screen you use. Oculus is another large company of VR tech. I believe they need a host like a PC or the like. The PlayStation VR requires a PlayStation 4 to work.

I have not used them myself unfortunately but I have heard very mixed reviews. So I have a couple friends that have a set. One loves them. Say they are awesome. He has the PlayStation 4 pro with the VR Goggles. The PlayStation it's self runs $400 cad. Then the VR package runs another $400 cad. Says games are sweet and he also takes advantage of the VR porn lmao.
My other friend got a set of VR goggles for a cell phone. He can't take anymore than 15 minutes before he feels like puking. Fucks with his brain and it cannot differentiate between real life and virtual reality so it kills his equilibrium. His daughter and other half love them.
Both guys are in their early 30s.
There is a video of a guy trying them out in a mall. He is rock climbing and there is a tv screen show everyone what he sees. Well he misses a hand placement in the game and falls. He collapsed in real life because his brain thought it was real.
I highly suggest you go to a VR "cafe" and try it there before you spend big money and find out your brain says fuck you lol.

Well it is not a sled but I took the engine out of the old klr I bought. This afternoon I tore the top end apart in search of where all my oil was disappearing to.
Had a friend help me over video chat as I have never had an engine apart other than a lawnmower in high school.
Piston looks good, cylinder looks decent. But the valves are highly suspect lol.
I think I got extremely lucky and it will only take valve clean and seals, ring kit and a cylinder hone and should be back on top

Dude, if it burns that much oil, the motor is done. But for 900 bucks I guess just run her into the ground
Ya it definitely is a little excessive but he still dragged it down to Arizona all the way from central/Northern British Columbia. I am not 100% if he is accurate. But I will pull it apart and see what's going on. May just need some rings and a hone. Valve seals are a possibility as well.

$900? You are going to have a blast on it. They are great dirt road bikes. Don't even think of taking it in a pit to play
Yes, $900. The engine sounds good. Unfortunately it burns a bit of oil. Buddy said about 1qt to a tank of fuel.
He takes it down to Arizona in the winter and lives out his 5th wheel and rides the bike. He comes back to Canada for the summer. So I don't know if the extra heat and the more "aggressive" riding he was a contributor?

Well with me looking at bike for other people, I am getting hooked. I wanted one of these for a while but could never pull the trigger. This came up today and with talking to the guy over the phone I can probably pick it up for $700 cad.
Apparently it needs a rear tire soon. Front brake pads are getting low, the choke lever is broken, decent dent on one side of the tank and the rear fender has been "shortened".
What do you guys think? I know a little from the research I have done but not a lot.

I am looking for some information on some decent starter bike options. The brother and sister in-law are thinking about getting into riding but know nothing about bikes. I am helping them out the best I can with my very limited knowledge. We went to a couple of dealerships today so they could sit on all different styles. The end result was she (5'10"- 220 lbs) really liked sitting on a 2013 KLR 650 and he (6'-180 lbs) preferred more of the cruising style bike. She is in love with the KLR but he although liking the seating position, is worried it will be terrible on the street because he thinks it is more geared to off road riding. She doesn't like the old man cruiser style. What they can agree on is that a sport bike which they thought they would like doesn't work for them. They will be sharing the bike to make sure they like it before they spend the dollars on two of them. Does anyone have any real world experience with a KLR or have any input on a good bike options?

I am home now and the colour has gone back to normal and it is not so dark anymore. Just a white smoke haze everywhere and the taste of ash.
