  1. What doesn't make sense to me is why GM would be using the Buick brand to push EVs so hard?  The Buick demographic is going to be the last ones to change from gas to electric.  Their buyers have had gas vehicles for 40+ years, are getting older, and aren't likely to adapt to a new technology.

Good article in the WSJ today.  EVs are stacking up on dealer lots with 60+ days of inventory.  There will be lower cost EVs coming in 2025 but manufactures are already having profitability problems selling the high end EVs.

Tesla is going to mop the floor with the legacy vehicle manufacturers.  Think of the carry costs on a $50k+ EV at 60+ days compared to Tesla's direct consumer purchases.

My dad and several others in my group bought those POS Delta R3's.  My dad's fell apart his first ride and none of them had them the follow season.

I've stuck with Bell and Fly helmets for many years now.

I like the Fly motocross style helmets with Fly goggles.  Seal up pretty good but on the cold days.

This year I bought a Mission CKX carbon with heated shield.  Too many cold days the last couple years.  Rain and sleet really sucks without the heated shield too.

last year was 110% on the isoc hired snow maker , guy was a waste of space. They started on snowmaking two weeks ago but if mother nature keeps up her shit (as its predicted) it will be difficult again.

I looked this week when I drove by and didn't see a spec of white anywhere near Canterbury.  They used to haul in a lot from the parking lot, not sure if they still do that or not.

That's the only price that matters really.

More oil gets turned into gasoline than diesel.  Diesel costs are mostly hidden to consumers in higher prices at the store and higher prices for services like garbage/shipping.

  5. While we wait for the Canterbury race, here is a blast from the past.  Spoiler, an Arctic Cat wins both Pro Lite and Pro Open and Elias Ishoel crashes twice.

I miss Chris Hawkey and Mike Schroeder in the booth.

The fuckin heat cycle thing is about as annoying as the fuckin crybabies worried about a run in the paint on the underside of the hood. This is the one that got me a warning and less than an hour later some other nerd posted about the same thing on there in a non satirical way.

That's the downside to the painted plastics.  They sure look good but anywhere that makes contact with another part is going to chip off like that.  My Polaris Sportsman is the same way around where the front rack closes and touches the plastic.  Cat should have a molded plastic insert that snaps in there and takes the pull rope handle abuse.

Record number of entries this weekend ... too bad its dying.

I am curious as to whats going on with the stream , Its not on flos end - we were watching the gateway dirt nationals in the tech trailer and it worked flawlessly which makes me wonder if its an upload issue from the tv truck.

Its possible since the replay on Flo still has the same issue.  On Saturday night, go to 8:48:40 in the video and you will see exactly what happened.

That's the magic of sous vide.  You can turn short ribs into tenderloin tenderness without overcooking.  140 is ruined...

I sous vide a ton of stuff, but steak is better reverse seared IMO.  Chicken, Turkey and other things that normally need to be cooked too far however are brilliant sous vide.  It is also by far the best way to defrost meat and reheat leftovers.

The steaks from Costco are blade tenderized and need to be cooked to 145F with a 3 minute rest.  Such a shame to take a prime cut of beef, run it through a blade tenderizer, and then cook it to 145.

  9. Should have all the parts tomorrow.  Here's my list:

    Install heavier rear spring

    Install rebuilt shocks

    Replace plugs

Replace chaincase oil and adjust chain tension.

Replace brake fluid (high temp racing DOT4 fluid)

Install the new BRP rail mount scratchers

    Put on WI trail pass

Clean clutch faces and adjust belt tension

See how much of a mess the mice made this summer, might pull off airbox and exhaust depending on what things look like.

  10. Getting locked in here for race weekend.  New Roku hooked up to the garage TV.  Should have all my parts here tomorrow.  Picked up shocks last weekend.  Finally found the Lynx service manual online so I can look up things like toque specs and how to change the spark plugs.  Never even had the hood off this sled!

This is all that needed to come off to remove the shocks.  I'll put the big boy rear spring on when it goes back together.

probably trying move the inventory from last year:pc:

Aldi's inventory is probably new but mine was still from last year.  Just smoked one last weekend I bought there on a sale last year.

Turkey is so much messing around.  It's a pain in the ass to prep, brine, cooking it sucks, and at the end of the day it isn't any better than a Costco rotisserie chicken for $5.

I read an article earlier where Max said that itt was BS and all of the other teams should stay out of it, Red Bull included. And he gets the biggest benefit of the penalty.

Max is a racer, he wants to beat you on the track.  I like Max for calling it like it is, he thinks the track sucks and the fans getting a $200 merch credit instead of a refund for Thursday is BS.

I'm happy to report that there has been major pushback in the investment business against the whole ESG thing.  It needed to happen, as it was turning into political agenda.

    Sweet fuck, it's about time.

My dad moved a significant amount of money out of Vanguard to Fidelity for this exact reason.

But still not as gay as the football team that resides in Vegas :pc:

I was just reading an article this morning about the crazy ticket prices for Vegas. Add on the 700 percent higher hotel rates and it has priced a lot of fans out.

The ticket prices are the main problem.  Flights were around $200, hotels less than $300 within walking distance, just need to stay off the strip.
