  1. I think I tried to buy this one when I made a sled run out to NE WI probably 4-5 years ago.

    Different seller though.

Seller was asking $200 and I offered $100 no questioned asked and would be there is 30 minutes.  Guy didn't message back until I was already home.

Dude, I'm not 8 hours away, not down the FN'ing street eating BBQ.

Maybe a "beater" Jag "Z" instead?

I was (not) seeing the same thing as you, but I wasn't looking at it on my phone - so not sure if you really can see anything.  It wouldn't surprise me though, having the PR folks handing out a bunch of glorified Snoopy Poles to stand there, looking like they're fishing.

IDK, I zoomed way in and still can't see it.

If you zoom in on the pic there is fishing line on the rod & reel, looks like its an orange ish color, without zooming in it does look like there is no fishing line.

I looked at it several times on my big monitor and still can't see it, which is why I posted it.

I'll just take your work for it though, somedays I swear my eyes don't do well with screens.

Pretty smoky here today with the wind switch to N.W.

It was a great day out here until around 3ish.  Then the smoke started rolling in like crazy.

Not as bad as last year, but it reminds me a lot of last year.  Started our road trip in the smoke and didn't get out of it until the Badlands.

It’s pretty much the only track. I have friends that race in it and it is more than you would think. It’s kinda like Mira for snowmobiles. They also are talking about making the soo I500 track a dirt track in the summer

A quick search between the UP, the upper lower, and the Beaver side, there are like 6 pavement tracks within probably a 3 or less hour drive of da Soo.

I would think making the I-500 track a dirt track in the summer wouldn't draw a big car count.  Straights that long are hard on motors and I can only imagine how rough it would get thru the corners, plus the locals probably wouldn't have any of it.

Kinross is the local track to me. I will go check out some events once the weather gets warm. I also watch a lot of Garett Mitchel’s pay per view races. He brought that old dosoto speedway out of the bushes, revived it and has people out there racing.

I looked them up on MyRacePass.

Their website has 2024 rules and 7 races.

Be interesting to know how many cars they get in each class.

They have to be the only pavement track for many miles around.

Kevin's a funny guy.  Charges too much, but he manages to cater really well to high end clients.

The crowd that likes that place really swing from his nuts.

I don't hear anything bad though, pretty much ever, so I finger it isn't my money.

Strange that its only for catalyst sleds

We've changed plenty of them over the years, try to find them during pdi by making sure the bolts are nice and tight.  The ones that break have a huge void in the casting.

According to the parts book on country cat, the part number for the catalyst steering clamp is the same as they have used on pretty much every sled for years and years :dunno:

Change in supplier and/or process would be my guess.  Some purchasing manager from the Big-T is extra proud about squeezing one last fraction of a cent out of that piece part price.

I think they built a couple. It was the same time as blade and red line if I remember right. Blade was the only one that was successful.

Anyone here ever seen a Blade out on the trails?

We ran across a few of them 10-12 years ago in Bowlus.

A couple and another guy rode them down from Duluth for lunch.

One was a darker blue with light gold painted a-arms and whatnot.  Never seen another one like it.

Passed up on buying a black one many years ago for $1500.  Should have bought that sled.

Letters went out to a bunch of folks in TRF "offering" early retirement

A lot of places have done that since fall of last year.

We have had 2 rounds of early retirement.

The first round was Dec 31st was your last day whether you are ready or not, and when only 1 person took it, the corporate dickheads suddenly became a little more flexible when the retirees were asking for March 1st or April 1st.

Maybe it’ll be like BSE and people get the idea you can get it by eating the meat.

    Couldn’t give some cows away

I am out of steaks and roasts.

We thought we had BSE probably 20 years ago.

Turned out it was some jackass dumping garbage in a small ravine in a pasture, including old batteries.

Calf ate the batteries.  Was foaming at the mouth, stumbling around like a drunk, an odd temperament for a Holstein, etc.
