I am a firm believer in the Ying and Yang approach to politics. both sides need to have power on near equal levels for a safe level progress. This is gone now as the left has been consumed by it's far left fringe with little hope of movement towards the center. The party had a chance here to do some soul searching and take a different course unfortunately I think the idea of change scares them and that fear has immobilized them from making changes that would put them back on a path towards parity with the Republicans. I think for the next so many years there will be less of them voted in than voted out no matter the office. Like most addicts they have to hit bottom to get help and evidently this election was not enough.
