Our idiot governors solution was to get rid of any kind of scoring.
Schools and students getting failing grades.  Don’t test them….problem solved.

The Read by Grade 3 retention component of the law was, on its best day, harmful to kids.   Educators knew this and used the watered down law’s many exemptions to waiver the students forward anyway.

Also, students in Michigan will still be required to take standardized tests.  That’s not going away.

  2. In many places school districts rely on the teacher to determine what’s taught.   Schools rely on the common core for the standards to be taught but give teachers carte blanche from there.  Even if the district has the money to purchase curriculum materials, they sit on the shelf because they’re too old.

Anything remotely controversial they do. FTR - I disagree with it.  Schools are run by professionals who are more than capable of educating little Johny and Sally.  Most need to be exposed to more not less.  And more often than not the parents who bitch the most are uneducated shitty parents who offer little support for their kids.  Don’t like it.  Send them to a charter or private school.  Schools shouldn’t have to cater to the squeaky wheels.

Do you have data to back up your claim that ‘most’ parents who complain are uneducated shitty parents or is that just your opinion being passed off as a fact?

Absolutely, Pretty good rumor circulating that they would/will be building sleds for Yami, when they break from AC.  I believe they've tried (and a couple other companies) have offered to buy AC, but all have been turned down.  Its a shame, because any of the ones that made an offer would be doing a better job with the talent and IP

    Agreed!

This is in no way to defend her, just to straighten a few things out...
FWIW she didn't fire Brian Dick.  IIRC Joey left for yamaha before textron, but may have come back for a little bit (and afik he wasn't in engineering)

Most of the rest of engineering and the rest of the departments that got gutted including the "retirement" of Roger, Spaulding, Eidie (sp??) etc happened under scott ernest

Joey Hallstrom went to Argo last year. Brad Darling has brought several former Arctic Cat talent to Argo.  Among other things, they build the Sherp which has to be the coolest vehicle out there.

I think they’d  be a legit sled builder.

Gym is considering applying for this position as Gym feels perfectly qualified to lead this company.  Gym would clean house and hire as many people from Polaris as he could.  Gym has seen the direction Artty Cat has gone for a long time.  Gym is tired of the sadness.

Would Gym build only 6000’s?   Would Gym only build sleds for better mpg’s or will some be built to have fun on too?   Would Gym offer a 10 year warranty to stand behind his faith in the brand?   Would Gym make the new company slogan, “Cat rules Polaris drools”?

Not really sure why Yamaha stays in the snowmobile game at this point.  Cannot be much of a money maker as the sales volumes are miniscule so it's not even a good outlet for their motors.  Maybe they sell just enough to cover costs or squeek out a tiny bit of profit due to the fact they must have very little manufacturing costs at this point.

If anything it's likely the kids sleds that keep them hanging around as the profit margins have to be completely ridiculous on those things at their current price points.

Gives the northern dealers something to do/sell in the winter

  8. If by orange man you’re referring to President Trump, the man who saved this country from Hillary, it’s possible.  After all we’re talking about New York. But one thing is for sure- even if indicted, he won’t be found guilty.

On mountain only, with zero gearing options. Face it. Polaris sucks at everything but huge recalls and riders who suck the Polaris cock. If not, they would have walked away years ago. Swallow some more boondock.

I’ve owned Cats since the 90s.   The current ones have their share of problems too.   Cracked clutches; driveshafts spinning on the inside bearing race; high idle; exhaust flames and melted plastic; turbos blowing out the oil tank seals; etc…

Then there’s the annoyances.  They make more tunnel ice than either Poo or Doo.  Also, who the hell designs an oil fill tank made out of magnesium?  You can’t see the oil level.   A big issue?  No, but just plain dumb.

lot's of options... engine, colors, track, windshield, etc., etc., etc.

Cat... this is it, take it or leave it.

It’s fair to say Poo has done a far better job with spring order options.   Cat used to offer color and graphics options.   They were great.   Loved the fighter pilot in gray.
