Peter Weltman, Ontario’s financial accountability officer, says the province recorded an actual deficit in 2018-19 of $7.4 billion.

The problem is CPC hasn't ever tried grooming anyone to step up, during the Harper years he was king with no grooming (maybe Rona who left politics),  now the Party is paying for that with no up and coming Leaders.   This is something the Party lacks nation wide for some reason.

Any good candidate isn't going to be stepping up right now that is for sure, if you lose your government job is done.
