When you look at the timeline of Carrier construction it no doubt appears the US was way behind. Not many were in process when Pearl occurred.
I didn’t post that it was the entire fleet. Reread what I posted. Pearl Harbor also had a large shipyard with several aircraft carriers under construction at the time of the attack. There’s no way that an executive would risk damage to a key shipyard just as an excuse to get into the war. The only reason that the functional aircraft carriers weren’t there was due to weather. Sorry. Not buying it.
