    So you made $.

    ???

Inflation is a bad thing, unless you have surplus goods to be sold.

My company just gave us a $2/hr raise. Kinda out of the blue. It equates to a %7.6 raise.

Redi-mix concrete truck operators. Truck drivers are unobtainium at this time, so we are hiring anyone with a licence, retaining even piss poor drivers. You literally have to roll a truck over, after many other things that should have got you fired.

Normally, raises are negotiated every two years, taking into account inflation, home prices, which have skyrocketed, even in my rural environment, food, taxes etc.

I've never seen more than 2 or 3 percent.

The negotiations happen in March of 2022, so this is simply a pre top up.

I simply could, in no way shape or form, afford to buy my home now. Even if I didn't upgrade it, which I have at that lesser cost.

It was a home most people could afford, even on a modest wage, with a family.

Land prices have gone loopy. A half acre in a desirable subdivision sold a few years ago for 40k. A 1/2 acre lot, beside a power line, with restrictions so you have to build close to the road, just sold for 130k

I used to find a nice home could be built for $200/sq foot. I've been told a basic home is now $400/sq foot.

No one wins in this scenario, unless you own everything you have and want for nothing.

I truly feel bad for those that are getting into the market now. They are paying a massive premium, and it may not increase in value anywhere near the value of those in the market for 15 or so years,

Citidiots  will eat each other within days.  Country folks in little towns will ban together and slaughter the rest of them, when they come our way.

That is the way I'd see it going down.

I've got generators, 400 gallons of gas for generators, fuel additives,  wood heat, wood boiler, enough wood for decades. Spare diesel generator if needed.

Inverters and batteries to power the heating system.

Water from a well. A dug well, I could lift water out of it by hand, Septic system, don't need anything else to dump my poop.

The military trained me to have spare parts on hand, and a plan B.

I could likely survive a couple years off grid, maybe forever. The wife is pretty good at making food.

More bullets than my local reserve unit has, .556 stuff, 12 guage..the standard we'd keep in reserve.

Got a couple SKS rifles, for anyone that are not that skilled in shooting back.

It's a decent round to stop a threat, can fire away. Got lots of those bullets too.

I haven't read this whole thing, and I'm not gonna', but who the fuck is a 17 year old punk, to take an ILLEGAL ASSAULT WEAPON, from one state to another, under the guise of protecting someone's  property????

This kid is gonna get something. I don't know what, but I don't think he's walking.

    Illegal assault wepaon?

I've got no skin in the game but I've seen lots of video.

The kid had every right to defend himself. It was a riot type shit show. I'm military trained, gotta have someone shooting at me before I shoot back. Be in a life threatening scenario. He was. He fired back way later than I would have, with way less rounds...

That cunt with the pistol deserved what he got.

Ontario sounds like a horrible place  Dont you guys have a 30mph sled speed limit too or some ridiculously slow speed.

Yep. 50kmh on the sled trails.

    It's not enforced so much.

It was a different law set up, doing it on a sled did not affect your drivers licence.

There have been some laws passed recently that may make it so it affects your drivers licence.

I remember back in the mid 80s, neighbor of mine had a cbx.   I6? Thing sounded insane and it was all engine . Looked like this

    download (8).jpeg

Awesome sound. Seen it before. Sounds like an F1 car.

Had a chance to buy the Kawasaki inline 6, passed it up.

    Regrets, I have a few....

  6. Super bikes for me...until the Ontario government passed the "racing" law.

50 km over the limit (30 mph) and they impound your vehicle for 14 days and suspend your licence, on the spot, no trial.

The day that passed the ZX-10 got parked and up for sale. Shift out of 3rd and y'er fucked. Cruising speed on the 10 was about 100 mph, that's where she started to feel comfortable. A buddy pointed that out after he drove it. I explain it like aircraft, it's the stall speed...you need to be either accelerating, braking, or going faster than that.

I drove down with my brother who had just got his licence and bought a Suzuki 800 cruiser. I rode the bike out of the city, through some twisties to a spot he'd take it well out of town. Spoke wheels, drum rear brake, single front disc and a steering rake of a Harley. I barely survived. The first corner I threw it in I was almost in the ditch. Barely handled better than my lawn tractor.

Bought a Drz 400 to satisfy the bike needs, but it didn't do it for me. It's good for 130 kmh, but that's just too slow, sold it.

Bought another Drz 400 super moto, 2020 in the spring, hoping I'd re kindle the motorcycle love.

It now has been lowered, geared way down, dirt tires,  so my nieces and nephews ride it as a dirt bike.

Fuck you Dalton Mcguinty and his racing law.

  7. Last Sunday.

Hail that made it off the shop roof.

    It counts, right?

I even got a video of me raking it, sent it into the club.

Grooming starts early. It only takes that much for the complainers to bitch "why are we not out grooming"?

I wish I was kidding on that,  but many think you can groom anything.

    2006 Silverado HD - 220,000

    2006 Grand Prix - 190,000

    2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee- 210,000

I don’t plan to replace either of mine soon and the wife won’t let that GC go for nothing.

Finally let my 03 2500 HD 6L go a in 2016, just because It was looking kinda grubby body wise after 3 sets of rockers. 350,000 kms. Business vehicle has to look at least presentable.

Farm kid bought it and it's still hauling heavy shit to this day.

My 15 2500 HD has 80,000 kms now. I drive my 08 and 09 AWD 1500 express's with the 5.3 to keep the miles off the pickup.

Don't want to have to buy another 3/4 ton truck, it's just stupid what they are selling for.

I'd make 10 grand if I sold it today.

This is where Covid should've helped by thinning out the Boomers

Humans are a virus on the planet. We continue to breed and spread. Covid is a heard thinner, and we're fighting it tooth and nail.

We've already begun screwing ourselves prescribing antibiotics way too much. There are now bacteria that are almost untreatable.

I fear if we try this with the china virus, it will get stronger and stronger.
