maybe in your mind... but not on an actual temperature gauge.

as previously asked, if they aided in cooling why wouldn't Cat also market or mention that as a potential benefit?

    just a pig headed fool...

The temp gauge is on my sled you fucking idiot! Where does the snow they deflect go? Into the track and tunnel. It works for me. I could care less if you believe it or not. It works!

yes, you're wrong and can't factually back it up... as usual.

I don't have to back it up. It works for me. You have to prove me wrong, and I know you will try, but you will fail. I know the facts on this. You would argue your coffee is too hot and your ice cream is too cold. One of those stupid fuckers.

I forgot how you'll never admit to being wrong and can't back anything up with facts

I have no problem admitting when wrong. Just not wrong on this one as it worked. Only time I had my scratchers down after installing the flares was on super hardpack or bare ice. Can't fix stupid. That being you.

    can you explain how... :news:

I Installed and tested them on a sled which was constantly overheating and they made zero change in the temperatures while riding on snow.  Dropping the scratchers was the only way to get the temperature to drop.

Well, you don't know shit! It works for me. Could care less what a whack job thinks.

you can repeat it here or in your pea brain as many times as you like, but they don't deflect snow or ice back onto the track or into the skid or aid in cooling.

you only need to add roost deflectors to the back of your tunnel ... and problem solved.  I read it here on FS

    9_9

I dont have to repeat it. They just work. You can claim it does not all you want, but I have validated it. Not pixy dust like you claim. Get off the smoke. Too late, but a mind is a terrible thing to have wasted.

Could it be the trails got chewed up as the day went on and allowed more snow to be thrown around as you rode?

This was 2018. Great snow and no. Trails did not change. Any more dead theories? Last year, I never dropped them on that sled. Put them on my 22 and? Three rides?

  7. 23 minutes ago, racinfarmer said:

So you rode the sled that day, installed the flares, rode it again, and the temp was 25 degrees less after the install?

Yea. Installed them after a morning run at the cabin. They showed up (Country Cat order). 15 minute install.  Two rivets to drill out, then rivet them in. Was a test. It passed. Might be a little over your head.

    no, it doesn't

stay dumb as fuck, rather than surprising us all for a change

they're a proverbial bag of bolts and rivets and were built for speed, light weight and ease of manufacturing... or so I've heard and read a jillion times.  13.5" track ftw!

Only stupid fuck between you and I is you. Amazing the difference on my 2018. 25 degrees, same day, same conditions when I installed them. 25 DEGREE"S!

Tunnel flares don't aid in cooling you dummy.

Helps eliminate snow spray from being thrown up on the rider.

The flares deflect snow coming off the scratchers from building up on top the running boards, tunnel and riders back.

Scratchers and the shit snow flap being low enough keep them in a safe range.  I put the flares on and tested... They didn't do shit for cooling eagle eyeing the gauge.  Scratchers deployed.. no f'ng problem.

Granted, that covid engine was already on it's way out the door when we got it but the fucker ran hot hot hot.  Obviously it didn't get run with a fresh mill this year to see if it changed on temp ranges.

Where does said snow go after being deflected off of the flares? Into the skid and tunnel. They work great with snow. Not so much into what Greg rides. Course when your daddy buys you everything, who fucking cares?

They do nothing!  I have tried them and extended flaps, all that shit . I ride when the sun comes up and back by 2-3 pm. I ride tons of hard pack, matter fact I would say I run 70% hard pack. The faster procross 2 smokes are very finicky and almost always run hot. Best set I have tried for scratchers on procross 2 smoke and 4 are the ski doo tunnel scratchers. They throw tons of snow on the upper rear of the track and up and into exchangers. Never seen anything work better and tried all of them over the years. These ski doo tunnel mounted ones work so well usually you only need one down as they throw so much shit

Well, they worked great for me. I have scratchers as well, but I rarely deployed them. Only on bare ice conditions. They took the snow that went on the tunnel and put it inside.

you're just wrong retard... It's not like running a full tunnel enclosure on an ice racing sled.  they simply deflect snow as advertised by ARCTIC CAT. During testing I got red flashing temp light multiple times with the flares on and only dropping the scratchers turned the light off.

on my SP's (without flares) and with the scratchers deployed my tunnel bags gets snow all over them, chunks of snow/ice fly up all over the place and due to aerodynamics behind me at certain speeds there's a snow tornado 🌪️ behind me.  I think @Not greg b has seen it and I know my brother and other riding buddies have.  I also run the abortion hangers, not the stupid cables.

Again dipshit! I have and have had several Pro Cross sleds. Either stock or add on, the flares worked to better cool the sled. More snow in the tunnel = ? I know it's early, but you do the math you fucking idiot!

They keep more snow in the tunnel, retard! They worked for me.

Those didn't help on either 15 XF LXR or the XF Cross Country.

My 15 was finicky. Was told they relocated the sensor some year after. 2020 came standard with the flares. Could count on a missing fingered hand how often I used them. My 18 was the same. Thinking Greg likes riding in mud.

Yeah, it's probably just old PTSD from procross'.  On my old zr900 there's just a light and I would've even seen it if it came on.  Never look at those gauges.  In my limited catalyst time this year, I was surprised how well it cooked for the conditions I had.  Maybe I will get back to not looking at it.  For me it's going to be all the single track trails I travel around on, often slow going and compacted.

Once I put on the tunnel flares, I never saw temps above 120, unless I was on bare ice. Some on here are trigger targets.
