basic healthcare for all is a good thing in practice, but being canadian , i see the arguement for privitized healthcare and personal insurance vs our system.

I pay dam near 40 percent income tax with much of it going to healthcare. when i need to see a doctor, i cant get a dedicated family doctor in my area, theres none to be had the last 4 years, so its off to the er.

Routinely that trip to the er results in a 8-12 hour wait to see a overworked , underpaid and beat the fuck out doctor that just wants you out there face as quick as possible.

the health care in my area sucks.if i had the option to keep my taxes and pay for private insurance , see a doctor who gave a shit , and didnt need to dedicate an entire days wait to see one, eh, i might go the later route.

im almost 40, will be in july. I remember when i was a kid, the island i live on was supposed to be completely submerged due to rising ocean levels cause the icebergs were melting.
