They're putting all their eggs in one basket... Kamm is moving to Cat.

    :lmao:

Well he did start riding a black and green monster sled. Some guy that raced for cat ran those graphics. Can’t seem to remember who that was

    #1. I can read.

#2. I was involved in the PitCunt vs. AO5GSHO and supported you and the admins

#3. I can fucking read and fully comprehend the english language.

#4. I'm rather handy when it comes to interwebbing shit.

#5. I have a near photographic memory and brain that's full of totally useless trivia and knowledge.

so, your hands aren't exactly squeaky clean and spot free in this mess... and I don't know shit.

but... I'd still rather go riding with you and buy you a beer than any of the tool bags that are still currently ruining HCS.

You sound upset. Did the ice cream truck hit your hammock set up?? Lol

The seats in the GMT 800 and 900 trucks rarely made it out of warranty. My current 2006 must have been owned by a guy with a women’s body because it’s still kicking. My fat ass should finish it off in no time though.

I am little fucker and the seat made it about a year and a 1/2. Looking it vs the passenger side that is never ridden it is pathetic. The transmissions are also shit now too.

on the bold - HUGE impact. My dealer is a larger volume dealer (has the cat awards hanging on their wall) and he told me his biggest issue is CC would be selling them for what he has into them and people would expect him to price match and not even cover his freight cost. I love PJ and the crew over there but its definitely hurt the dealer network when it came to unit sales.

    Parts sales are another story.

I have a customer like that. All of them bitch about him. They all have the same opportunity as the big one but none will step up to the plate. All they do is bitch and we did something about it. Cat also did something with county cat to stop it. Their pricing is not that great anymore. It’s crept up the last 6 years or so. Also no knocking country cat as they do run a very good business. They are aggressive and will take a deal when they can get it and make a buck

Had my 1985 Indy 600 SE home couple years ago and it was a nice Sunday knowing my buddy just got done grooming our trails so figured I take it for a ride since it been a while.  By chance meet some guys i ride with and ended up putting on 180+ miles.  I didn't want to even see that sled for a while. 20-30  miles fun any more not.

I don’t ride it on the actual trail system. I putt putt through the woods with it. It’s perfect for that

it was the last sled my dad Raced, and ironically the first sled I rode on as a pipsqueek , always wanted to ride it myself but dad told me know and sold it before I was old enough to ride it. I ironically have two sets of handlebars for it sitting in my shop

Time to by the rest of the sled

The twin spar was great but it shouldn't have been their only offering for flatlanders.  They should have had that and something else at the same time.  (Not the cfr/recycled firecat) And then the procross debacle sealed the deal.  They spent the first 5 years trying to fix the procross instead of r&d'ing the next chassis.  Once you get behind it's hard to catch up, no less leap frog.  And the money resources get slimmer so that makes things more of a challenge and it's a real snowball effect.  They had some real shitty ceo's that were raping the company during this time also.

They should have offered the sno pro with the consumer 600efi in it. They would have sold a lot of them. And we all know it would have fit very easily.

I'm surprised that Country Cat has been exclusive to Cat as long as they have. If you've been watching their inventory the last 3 years, they've had almost nothing to sell. I'd like to know how many new Cats that Country Cat sold at their peak..... Not to mention how much clothing they used to sell.

It will be fun to watch their Kawasaki sales and see how long it takes before their Kawasaki sales exceed their Cat sales.....

My dealer picked up Kawasaki a few months before country cat. The Kawasaki’s out sold the cat atvs with in 2 months. They won’t order any more cat dirt products.

Getting back into the older sleds reignited my snowmobile hobby.

I honestly had more fun riding that old jag while my rr was down the entire season. I did not miss my rr one bit. I have been toying with the idea of getting an old sled to ride as I do get more enjoyment out of them

  11. Cat’s snow offering was never really an issue. They were running consistent sales and the units were moving. Even the twin spar sold and the early procross issues didn’t really effect their sales. That inventory stunt they pulled is what killed the procross.

the dirt product offerings were shit as the atv market was exploding and they did nothing. They are doing the exact same thing with sleds now as they did with dirt line. Selling an outdated widget no one wants.

I'm still finding and buying lots of cool snowmobile parts.  Recent findings are nos running board edge rail grips, a cool green early 90"s cat accessory catalog snow flap, very cool 90's cat jacket and very cool 90's era huge cat gear bag.  I also got a new cat jacket.  Gear bag showed up over the weekend and I think this is the first time since the fall that I'm not waiting on some snowmobile parts to show up, I'll have plenty of garage time come December and January

I honestly haven’t even looked at anything snowmobile related. I almost put all my stuff up for sale 2 weeks ago but I was to lazy to go outside and take a picture

Good write up.  This is a lesson learned by others that depend on Mother Nature for sales:  Stop producing and forcing your network to take inventory they don't need in order to meet production goals set forth by inept management.

Shortly after that was when Jordan was sent away and that other guy was brought in to save the company Which he did. How ever the damn devil bought it and they are doing their typical Textron thing.

  14. The year for the 2015 model year (spring 2014) is what put the nail in the coffin for cat. The sport had come off their best year in decades. Cat leadership up the booking orders to double of the previous year to be on the program. 2015 was a low snow winter so most dealers had more carry over sleds than they typically sell in a year. By the 2016 model year the dealers had 3 years of inventory on their lots and a lot of their credit lines were maxed out with cat. With maxed out credit lines and way to much inventory cat could not ship anything to the dealers and get money coming in. This caused them to start burning through their cash reserves real fast. Textron bought them out when they were danger close to running out of money. You could see this in their stock price history.

From my pov getting rid of Brian seems to be the final nail in the coffin of any new innovation on the snow side coming from Cat.

I also have an awful gut feeling they're going to kill the race program next (again).

How much did they spend on the display at ERX again?

Enough to get a semi load of crocs and vipers

Do you think the nice lady from Atlanta will be doing lot's of product testing, interacting with racers/consumers and getting her hands dirty?  Her dog is a pretty light color...

She will quit and go to ez go after the first winter

yup, they definitely don't want a guy like that walking out the door with any top secret plans for a Garmin GPS, plans for a new single cylinder kids sled or the magic formula to primer gray paint.

    Nope.

According to the article (I read it somewhere) they escorted him out of the building.

I guess it was on HCS: " Brian Dick was escorted (fired) off the premises last Thursday the 20th. "

when you are that high up in engineering that is standard operating procedure.

  19. I saw Brian was let go. However I noticed they are now full blown into “Textroning” cat. After reading the sno gore article their new chief won’t be there long. Her back ground is aero space. She has been bounced all through cat upper positions. As soon as the position is open in aero space they want her for, she will go there. While at cat she won’t do shit. I have seen them do this many times at Jacobsen. The person would flat out tell us they are there until they get moved to the areospace side and won’t do much.
