that pic brings back some memories.  rode mongoose, redline and pk rippers back in the day, did a bit of BMX racing and freestyle.  was the first kid who had white tuff wheels in our area that were a bitch to keep clean because they didn't make white brake pads.  rode road bikes through high school and took a long hiatus.  never really got into the mountain bike scene but I do currently have a dirt jumper for the local park very close to the house.  can't ride nearly as well (with no fear of injuries) as I did when I was 40lbs lighter and 20+ years younger but still enjoy hitting the jumps.  it's good practice for snowmobile season and hitting driveway approaches. :)

  2. we had nearly 30 miles, and fucking people on foot during the pandemic got us kicked out of some of the best we had. the land owners told us not one mtb rider incident in 27 years . but the hikers were obnoxious. naked, shitting, garbage, telling land owners to go fuck themselves. in the one guys yard taking pictures with his lawn decor. then flip him off when he tells them to beat it. we lost some sweet shit. the one even tried the mtb only signs , and gave up. they were all sad to do it but we do not blame them. we still have killer riding

  3. a few more. some of these guys are childhood friends. been riding with these guys since 1976. bmx, road, and in 1987 mountain.

the four of us in 1982. we still all live within a few miles of each other. i'm #4

three multi families left to deal with... there will be no more after those.  thank God they're paid for.

nope... but the TSA people find me funny during a pat down

my buddy is a tsa agent at the local airport. my other buddy thought it would be funny to mess with him. so e walks up to him acts strange and asks "you guys aren't gonna strip search me are ya?" . tsa guy said "mike if you don't get away from me they are gonna tackle you and you are gonna miss your flight" . he backed off

  5. my mom had help from a local group called the greene county women's league. i had never heard of them. they paid 5k of my mom's ridiculous bills. they raise money through fundraisers, penny socials, dinners, etc. every penny goes to cancer patients. they got a big amount left to them, they put it in cds to increase it. they are helping 56 people right now. my girlfriend and i have been helping them. my girlfriend knits and is making sweet things to auction off. i do woodworking and will make various items for them as well. if you have a group like this maybe contact them. they were very good to my mom , didn't make her feel like she was mooching. they just want you to win the battle. they even do a car show in the summer. people show big time for them as they are doing a very good thing. not one penny goes to "administration"

Very glad to hear and I also want to thank you.

Because of your diagnosis, I decided it was time to see a urologist, since I had some symptoms of trouble emptying the bladder completely and pissing kinda frequently at night.

I have been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, which is very common as we age.   They also tested my PSA levels for the first time ever and came back at 3.65.....so they are not very concerned of cancer.... they will be using that number as a baseline and told me to come back in 2 to 4 years for a retest unless my symptoms worsen.  I'm thinking that's a little too long so I do plan on getting a blood test yearly.

They did prescribe Tamsulosin to minimize the enlarged symptoms but I am taking an herbal supplement Prostadine instead which seems to be helpful so far.   I try to avoid medications as much as I can.

Anyway... great news on your part:thumbsup:

sadly it's an uncomfortable thing to discuss, especially men . no one wants to hear . but as we see, getting that test is easy and getting that baseline is helpful. my girlfriend's brother had a bunch of radiation as well and his is gone too. encouraging to say the least. and my boss has it too...

I have been battling prostate cancer for about 1.5 years. When diagnosed my PSA level was extremely high and after radiation treatment its down to 0.05 so basically cleared up. The radiation did alot of damage to the bladder and bowel area and they found a mass on the tail end of the prostate. They did a biopsy and then another and 2 weeks ago another and got a call from the surgeon a few minutes ago. It's confirmed no cancer for the 3rd time and the urologist and surgeon figure it's an ulcer caused by the radiation. I'm on the mend and taking it day by day.

that is a fantastic outcome. my dad and grandfather died from prostate cancer. dr told my brothers and i it's a matter of when. i get the psa yearly, just had it saturday, 1.5. under 4 is the target. i will admit that getting that test scares the shit out of me. glad you got it beat george . i ended up in urologist care from kidney stones. a good one can explain a lot of what's going on, and help with future issues.

X2.  I would want to enjoy the car I put that much time and money into.  Some people get that excitement out of shows though I guess.

I guess that’s why I really dig rat rods.
