What?  No way is the stance 46/47?  Maybe outside of ski to outside..  but not the stance which is center to center.  I think most of the blasts are the 40" stance and use the high country size arms to achieve that.

I'm sure it ran the number.

yeah, worded that poorly.  overall width is wider on the XR-T and they use the same spindles so probably wider a-arms - and a sway bar.

    https://arcticcat.txtsv.com/snowmobile/blast-xr-touring#specs then click dimensions

Overall Chassis Width 44-45 in. 46-47 in.
Ski Stance 37.5-38.5 in. Adjustable 39.5-40.5 in. Adjustable

Hey I'm all for options but I would pay money to have two analog gauges over some bullshit millennial ipad for a gauge.  Fuck that gay ass shit.

precisely where is this YOUESSAY place?

I find the whole fancy gauge/ipad thing hilarious - but, apparently it helps sell sleds and I'm 101% certain it is a MAJOR revenue source and profit maker for Polaris.  haven't really heard much about the Doo-che Pad this winter?

    Probably a dealer demo

can't be, they have seven dealers left after Polaris and BRP launched their 2022's.  with 900 miles it was probably ran wfo on a track stand to set a top speed record for the 400 single cylinder snowmobile class.

in other news that's probably only interesting to me, the Blast XR Touring has a wider ski stance 46/47 rather than 44/45 - so there's that for those looking to widen the stance.  no fiche pics or part numbers yet to see which parts are the same or different... but it's probably just a-arms.

A fresh new gauge!  Add that into the Blast models and BLAMO!  Instant looks from the Poo-laiders.......while performance enthusiasts waiting for Cat to return just sigh and reluctantly peck in "skidoo.com" into their keyboards.

have been lurking/watching the entertaining threads in the Procross forum on that other site, entertaining.  JR apparently gave up on a 6000 Limited because he didn't whine enough to get them to add ATAC.  he's making the quantum leap up to 'manual' QS3R's (which aren't 'true' fox shocks - lmao) dumbed down on the Racer Replica like the way the XRS and XCR's are also dumbed down.

I want to see the 'pond' bigger this weekend... for "knucklehead" to play in again.  :lmao: that was a hilarious conversation, and we're all going to the god damned Soo next year - he's driving!

First sled I ever bought was a 96 zrt 6.  Drove to Michigan to get a cherry one.  In high school at our local hayfield where some of us locals gathered, my buddy and I watched these two kids our age racing their Dad's new sleds.  A 96 zrt6 and a 96 xcr 6.  There was a srv 540 in there too.  The zrt crushed them.  Bus lengths.  The srv actually beat the xcr too.  That day sold me on that sled and it was the only one I was going to buy.  It was so badass.  I ended up putting black magic pipes and stingers and black magic clutching on it.  They were cool.  I just think now riding one would suck ass, I think you just have to be a little smoother and more deliberate when riding one and my current style would not mesh with the characteristics of a triple.  The next one I got was my next bucket list sled the 98 tcat.

Black Magic - best marketing name ever, hands down for Cat products

There is a thundercat right at my back door that has 900 original miles on it , I contemplated it until I found out he wanted 4500 for it. I did find a vmax 4 for 2500 that looks cherry in the pictures - I've always wanted one.

    4500 dollars?  american dollars?

I think the old triples are cool, but I have no interest at all in owning one.  I do know this, if any manufacturer including Cat came out with a new triple 2S in a modern chassis they would sell a shitload of them to a lot of guys over the age of 50

    hmmm, ZRT 2.0 or F7 2.0 - tough call there  :)

Always glad to show you around , thanks for stopping by and for the beverage!

Hands down the best racing this year has been in pro lite , Travis Kern is a man on a mission and the battles have been awesome between skidoo and Polaris - the FI has been good for them but there are some honest opinions that have come out about it and not being happy with it and the powers that be don't acknowledge it or listen to the guys wrenching on them.

Polaris also squashed Kenny mandryks post about his sled issue that resulted in a broken sternum - they even posted the sleds data proving it wasn't Kennys issue and they made him take it down.

next time, I'll backpack in something a bit more premium, local and a bigger quantity.

Polaris's sleds and f.i. sure seem to be working a lot better than Cat's has from what I've seen but going back it's my opinion Doo & Poo have by far the most talented pool of racers right now which is why they are both pistol whipping the green goblins.

I don't remember Kenny's crash for some reason.  was it when we were fixing the foam peak marker and you were trying to avoid being ran over?    being at the track and moving around most of the time I was there I saw riders eating shit all over the place, even in places I can't figure out how they f'ed up so bad.  right when I got there a sport rider was coming in hot into the outside of turn 1 - alone, his track packed, he hit another whoop and it cartwheeled him off over the berm.  this said, I give those kids a lot of credit because I no longer have the stones to even attempt that type of course let alone try to make time doing it.

for those following along, if you can and there's an ISOC race in your area, make a point of going at least for one day to get a scope of the talent these folks have.

Twins are just lighter, torquier, quicker revving.  I went from a 1000 tcat to my zr9 and besides lake running the ZR was better in every way by a landslide.  I used to be all about the triples but I don't know now.  Maybe if I go to that erx triple weekend it will re ignite something with me.

Maybe if I could convert one to fan cooled.

there is something special about them, in the meanwhile I'll stick to my triple 2S outboard and call it quits there.

back in the day though... when Cat was cool.

I couldn't help but share this because of the "double take" it caused me (as in, holy shit ... Hibbert raced again?? LOL)  Only took a split second to see that BEAUTIFUL Polaris sticker on the side :stirthepot:

the type of track they were on at E.R. was suited to their riding styles in Europe, and Norum has been getting better and better each year, the kid has tons of talent.  if you watch enough of this you'd realize the European riders are eclipsing the north american racers for the past few years, I can see it in the way they attack the track and time their big jumps compared to keeping the their tracks on the ground to accelerate while others are focusing on more air more often which doesn't make you faster.  Bender and Hentjes had their Polaris dialed in all weekend and have for most of the season.  the lack of grooming a talent pool for the future and not equaling or bettering the competitions sleds from the green team after TH#68 retired is apparent and there are a f'load of talented racers on the yellow and red teams.  before, during and after the Pro-Final I was chatting with Cody from the Makita team, super nice guy that was confident in their machine, but far more confident about his racer and what his goal was who took 3rd coming from mid-pack after the start.

if you haven't been to a Pro-SX race in a while, I highly suggest turning off the brand blinders, going and getting in touch with our resident tour guide before you do.  these kids are tough, going big and getting after it.  ;)

  11. taking this into perspective

    a 1992 340

    a 1998 500

    a 2004 600

LOL, in the first paragraph I already started the math, by the second one I was like 'stop being a bitch' and by the third I was reminded of 'buyer beware' and no one made you buy any of these piles of shit.

you got precisely $200 into the red to post this thread.  I spent that just on some gaskets.  remind me again what it is you're bitching about?:lol2:

  12. standard gauge, a keen sense of direction and good old fashioned printed maps

    I'm nostalgic that way

but, if I were buying a new Poo the 7S and the 'smart grip' feature would be difficult to turn my back on due to Raynauds in my left fingers and the configurable gauge.

this said, still going to rock 2010 team green old school simple toggle switch shit and an old fashioned map for areas I don't know next winter.  what's funny is I can ride numerous 100 mile+ local loops and never stop to look at a map once, maybe that and the guys I ride with like chasing a 500 is why I normally lead.

What exactly do you mean by "frying".  Wet and lean don't really go together.

it's a contradicting statement, wrapped in an enigma.  it's not even plausible to me being "wet and fried".

OP on this issue, either post some pictures... please explain wth you are talking about with more depth or maybe take it to someone more qualified than yourself for a proper diagnosis.  where are you located?

most in this thread and page are experienced with carbs and this chassis, so start skipping the vague bullshit, make sure the timing is correct, you have proper spark and fueling to each cylinder, maybe do a simple compression check and help us help you.

How much cheaper do you think it is for cat to build a 600 vs an 800 sled?  I would bet it's within a couple of dollars.  And some extra$$ figured in for higher 800 warranty costs.  But essentially the same.  I don't know enough about those other products you listed to comment.  I'll say it's not all about a spec sheet that makes a certain snowmobiles a right fit for someone.

Things are expensive.  Get used to it.  What do you think all these bullshit stimulus things are going to do?  It's called inflation, our dollars weaken with every one.  If you got any stimulus money, in the end it will probably cost you 10x more than you got in the end (or more)

    $6.18, I looked it up.

I don't, but I don't know anyone personally that's bought any 21' sleds from any manufacturer.  I have seen them out in my limited trail time this year.

At least you can agree that pricing on all new sleds is high because that's where I was going next.  In relation to the "full size" sleds, I think the price is very in line, if not a bargain.  Really sit back and think how much cheaper it can be.  The assembly costs is same.  The front end is same.  The exhaust is same.  The chaincase is same.  The track is same.  The epa testing is same.  The r&d is same.  You're saving a little bit on the motor.  You're saving a little bit on cheaper shocks.  You're saving a little bit here and there on a few select parts, that to me doesn't justify half off from the other sleds.

People are just so negative toward this and I think it's dumb.  It's ok if it's not for you.  It's kind of narcissistic to think it must be.  Why aren't you bitching about every single other new sled that you aren't buying?  There must be a reason you're not buying those too right?

Does Doo have the right idea on the 'entry level' sled?  Maybe...

    when comparing apples to apples for 2022 you can buy an 85hp MXZ 600 Sport 129 ($8700MSRP), a 65hp Blast ZR 121 ($8255MSRP)/Venom 121 ($8199MSRP) or IDK?hp Indy 550 121 ($8099MSRP)

    next step up is the Renegade Adrenaline 600 ($11,949MSRP) an 137 Indy SP 600 137 ($11,599) or a ZR 6000 137 Limited ($13,395MSRP)

where's that 'middle of the road sled' for Cat now?  that's part of what I'm talking about, a simple fun trail sled and maybe in this midsized chassis they already have the tooling and materials to use.   no, I also did not use snowmageddon pricing as Poo & Doo guys don't seem to pay list either, heck even the Riot 6000 with base shocks has a $12,895 MSRP?  really Cat?

I feel they were on the right pricing structure for the product they were selling during the initial snowmaggedon years, this year I don't think they're in the ball park at all, nor does @taperk600 or folks that have bought many of them.
