I don't use low level consumer shocks.  I literally have no idea about the sub-par performance of them.  I don't need to know either.

    Bold:  No. ...and stop it.

Whops forget I was talking to the guy that wears crocs and his pit coat.  Carry on 👍

One doesn't need to be an expert to know this.

Tell me, with a straight face, that the top end WE are comparable to the top end KYB's or Fox in performance, durability and reliability.

Or, just tell me how Poo is #2 in sales!!!!!!!!!!!!  Both are fun to read!!!!!

I've had many of them apart.  KYB has the better quality.  Fox and WE are on par with each other.  Cat's attempt to copy Fox "Junk"

Yeah. Spread a Cat Fox shock and an ACTUAL Fox shock of the same model, across a bench. BIG difference. But......

    MUH.......SHOCKS!!!

Was very profitable when Cat tried to copy the fox shocks and cheapened them up.  Use a QPQ coating on the rods instead of chroming them. Great move and profitable for me.

Its just like the GP we have - its not a sled you're going to get out and ride all day on , but every once in awhile take it on the 40mph club ride to have people wonder what the hell is wrong with you ...

Put 180+ miles on in one day on a 1985 Indy you'll be questioning yourself " What the hell's wrong with you"  Been there and that actually the last time I rode that sled.

If you rode a triple in a new chassis it would change a lot of opinions, last Polaris triple was 2003, no comparison to the modern chassis.  I have had triples since 1977, a 74 500 TX being my first, have had really no engine issues that are specific to triples. I just sold my IQR with a XCR 800 engine in it, sled worked really well, but was hard on my knees just due to contact with cowling. I'm thinking about building another on a 2019-2020 AXY R with my XCR based 1000 HTG and incorporating either a XC or XCR hood and belly pan, just not sure if I want to put that much work into another sled.

If I get the ambition and time going the other direction.  Have a NOS XCR800 motor to go into a wedge chassis.  Have most of the parts and a set of Rugland pipes.  Maybe some day.

Nice - I would hope a 300 mile sled that had been stored in a warehouse with a cover would be near mint.  The two I bought were in the 5-6000 mile range, and had been ridden hard.  Saw the one on the trail two years before I bought it.  Juts a little nostalgia for me.  Had one back in the day, and really liked the unique one year color combo.

Always liked those sleds and color combination.  A 1997 XCR 440 is on the bucket list for me.  Maybe some day.

I was thinking the same thing.... bought a couple 1993 XCR’s a few years ago, no matter how they looked or was told, I was fully expecting to find things not right, and I did.  ‘Well taken care of’ means practically nothing on a 20+ year old sled.

Bought a 1994 XCR 600 about 10 years ago with only 300+ miles on that was covered in the back of a warehouse.  I know the guy well and he bought new sleds every year when he still rode.  He only rode the sled one weekend and hated the low seat so he bought a XLT sp.  Ran into him one day and asked what ever happened to that sled knowing they were limited build.  Told me he still had it if I wanted to buy.  Sled is in showroom condition still a little over 300 miles on it.

  8. I went with the 7S on my XCR as I had on my VR1.  I normally lead and last year we rode in areas Sth that we normally didn't ride so it was really nice.  Also that you could change the display the way you wanted was nice.  I use the phone function a fair amount as I don't work Friday's in the winter and guys would call to meet up and ask for trail conditions.  The fuel gauge seems a little inconsistent but I alway reset one of the trip meters and go by mileage so not a big deal

  9. Right or wrong, real or fake my dealer would normally wait until Snowcheck was almost up before he would submit his orders and I would get my confirmation email shortly after.  This year I received my confirmation email yesterday.  Asked why he submitted it he said this year is a little strange and wanted to make sure they're in before the cutoff day or before

i ordered an 850 just like this.  i had my 19 850 listed for an hour, and pulled it.  calls from all over the place.  used sleds are stupid. sold a 078 dragon 700 with 1600 miles on it in mint condition for 4500, sled sold in less than an hr, guy drove 5 hrs to pic it up

The used market is crazy even at the end of the year.  I was going to list my wife's sled and my dealer told me not to cause he would have it sold if I traded it.  We had one last ride planned so I had a demo to use and had to take her sled down to my dealer.

This is a lie.  You don't have any friends.  :lol2:

Still, this isn't making me all that happy right now seeing as how I'll most likely break ground in your area by end of summer.

When his customers don't lock in and he has to requote with a price increase they're shocked but still sign.

What area you looking at?  I'll go warn the nearest Culver's.

  12. Call me old school but I'll pivot the oil tank out of the way and remove the side airbox inlet.  That exposes the throttle bodies where I have a hose with 2 lines teed off and lay each line down in the throttle bodies and spray while the engine is warm.

Word of caution as we've heard this before.  If you fog down into the spark plug hole put tape around the little plastic tube or better yet use a small hose dropped into the plug hole and insert the little plastic tube into the hose.  Every year we've heard where the small plastic tube came out of the fogging can and dropped down into the cylinder or case.

The line being buried was the transponder line

jumps are never built until the day of, I haven’t been to the track yet but I bet if you look now it’ll look different.

I've groomed for our club many years but I'm impressed with these guys in the groomer that build and maintain the track during these event.  Would like to have a groomer with that width and HP.
