Never said starting with the 858. Production is starting earlier as they have 5,500 additional sleds being produced. Will be building the media sleds which include pre production 858's as well as test sleds. Get your fucking facts right for once!

Curious if you or ACAT thinks they are still adding 5500 sleds to their build next yr?  With winter weather like this, not to mention other factors such as economy and interest rates, I can't imagine it would be a good financial decision, can you?

Your lucky. Brother in law was quoted on a 850, $120, a month!

This is thru dairlyland insurance.  1st time  I've went thru them but friends have had used them in the past and my agent recommended them as well.

In comparison Progressive was $628/ yr for both sleds and Auto owners was 706.38/yr.

My quote over 600 was double. Needless, since I prefer 600"s. Don't care for Bud Light.

Not sure what I'm doing right or wrong but my sled insurance just renewed 2 weeks ago....

    2022 assault 650 was $128/yr

    2022 850 vr1 137 was $134.60

  4. This makes zero sense.  Ramstad has been very vocal about how cat makes the best utility and sport sxs vehicles and ATV'S and how the catalyst exceeded customer orders so much so they couldn't build enough of them fast enough.   Someone's full of shit here...hopefully Jim can come in and clarify how textrons financial team has it all wrong about this and can help them get the ship righted

IDK if an Balers ever won TBH.  Polaris used to offer iron dog conversion kits through the race dept to convert Assaults (I believe) to 136's before the full tunnel Indy came along but what do I know being a non native Alaskan like AKfoFoty.

Skidouche dominates that race though.  not one single Cat is registered to run this year which gives me sad unsurprised face.  Guess Textron doesn't see any value in competing in the world’s longest, toughest snowmobile race.

These comments caught my attention as I was certain polaris teams won with a baler.  A quick search proved so.   As far back as 2011 they won with a rush.   Pretty certain a baler also won In the years of 2014, 2015 and 2018

    3 of the 4 are race sleds, 1 being a sno-x sled.

Only the 15 isn't a race sled and has low miles.

So those aren't consumer model sleds that anyone could buy at a dealer?

Edit*   what makes these models different than a consumer cat 600, engine wise?

The CTEC 600 by Cat has been a solid engine, you see those sleds with piles of miles all of the time.
Not saying its the best 600 or most powerful 600 ever, but give them a little credit here.  It's won alot of races and was the reason Cat was sled of the year in 14. Not perfect, but good, and yes I would say, pretty reliable.

    I searched marketplace quick...I think i looked at maybe 10 cat 6000 series sleds...found these 4 in a matter of a minute, maybe 2

I find it amusing there's 61 pages of hate and jealousy for a snowmobile company.  Extra bonus points because it's from people that claim, and probably even believe to have no brand bias and make fun of any support of said brand.  I know you all tell yourself it's not jealousy but I see no other reason why anyone would or could be so obsessed with a brand.  A brand that you claim is inferior, at that.

AC is your guy's Trump and you guys are just little ankle biters.  Leaders don't concern themself with others and definitely aren't obsessed with the competition like you guys are.  A sorry existence, certainly have some unchecked personal issues.  But I see some of you posting on the current event forum so no surprise.

You honestly don't see the irony that the catalyst front suspension engineer helped develop the iq front suspension for polaris and how cat adopted a similar geometry on the procross?   And that cat guys on here always mention how cat introduced dual a arms to the industry 1st yet they adopted a similiar design to poos and even hired poos old suspension engineer?  You also do realize alot of the back and fourth is in good fun? And happens from cat guy, poo guy, and doo guys...we all do it.

  9. I watched the suspension video,  I found it amusing the front suspension engineer is an ex polaris employee who is on the front suspension patent for the variable caster triangulatd a arm front suspension polaris came out with in 05.   He talks about how great it is....oh and how they moved the upper control arm down 2 inches on catalyst.....

    SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Stop Sale and Use Order for model-year 2020-2023 Arctic Cat 8000 snowmobiles

    April 13, 2023

    Dear Valued Dealers,

You are hereby instructed to stop sale, effective immediately, on all Arctic Cat 8000 series snowmobiles including Mountain, ZR, and Riot from model year 2020 through 2023, regardless of vehicle identification number (VIN.) This is to inform you that these vehicles may contain a defect that could affect the safety of a person.

These vehicles were produced from January 2019 to November 11, 2022. The snap ring groove cut into the top of the fuel dampener is slightly oversized. The oversized groove can allow the snap ring to fall out, allowing fuel to leak, creating a potential fire hazard.

Arctic Cat Inc. is identifying and evaluating corrective measures to address this issue. Once the corrective action has been determined, a further update will be provided. Authorized dealers and service centers will be compensated for the parts and labor required to correct this issue upon filing a warranty claim.

Note that Arctic Cat Inc. will notify end-use owners by mail with instructions to contact an authorized Arctic Cat dealer or service center for repair. Customers will be instructed to stop using affected units until an authorized service is performed to correct the issue.

This is nothing.  Wait until the new sleds that those ex employees developed for cat get into production this fall and get into consumer hands.

  11. I informed a riding friend that you know of 3-4 yr old 850s for dick..he's interested as long as there female owned.   I dont see such a sled in the images you have so far provided.   He even said he'd take a 3-4 yr old cat 800 for dick as well....as long as its female owned.

He'd be interestd in as many of these sleds for dick as you can find...again, as long as they are female owned

Thats pretty good for a Polaris, atleast it outlasts the topend of the motor.
Smart to trade the sled in instead of fixing it, 998's with 6K miles are just getting broken in, Polaris sleds with over 6K miles aren't worth dick. You can get 3-4 year old 850's with 5-6K miles for dick.

Whats a 3-4 yr old cat 800 with 5-6k miles on it bring for comparison?  Dick, less than dick, more than dick?

You mean the old cat guard that brought you the procross.

I like how you frame it so it's a lose-lose situation for cat either way.  If it's a success it's because of "cat guard", if it fails it's because Boogeyman Textron.  So either way current cat is bad and haters are set up to hate.  I'd expect nothing less.

Its definitely a double edged sword.  On 1 hand textron saved cat from almost certain demise under there old leadership and business model.  On the other hand, I imagine, that running a recreational powersports business is night and day different than running any other business in textrons portfolio.

So what is it that the cat faithful love?  The heritage and legacy of the brand?  If so, isn't that mostly gone by textrons own doings?

Will textron be better at being cat than the old cat was?

Who in there right mind, cares? Polaris has a shit ton of 23's on the dealers floors. That effects sales of the 2024 models. BTW? You cannot change a model year Vin. Once it is produced, it is the year it is. For the stupid on the site. Not you.

You care enough to have brought up polaris 2024 sales.  I pointed out to you the enormous MFG task and market shift it would take for cat to outsell polaris for 2024

  15. 12 minutes ago, ZR6000RR said:

No. I do not. Played off a bill for a 200 we raffle every year. Dealer info.  Was told they were firing up the lines beginning of March. Usually a mid April thing. Sold a ton of machines. Did Polaris sell sled 1 yet? Ghost town in Poo town

I'd bet polaris makes and sells more 2024 sleds than cat.  Cat would need to over double their build to be where polaris was last yr in terms of volume.

Those types of volume shifts don't happen overnight

  16. I've heard multiple times Brian was instrumental in development of what was to be the procross replacement. He wanted arctic cat to retain their performance minded image, textron wanted the procross replacement to gain more sales volume.  Brian wasn't happy with what they were making the engineers compromise on for the soon to be catalyst. Many of the the ideas were axed or reimagined for cost.   What we now know as the catalyst is not what most of the old cat guard wanted it to become.

We'll all know in a year if the old cat guard was able to influence it enough before there departure or if textron got there way on costs and timelines.

Most of what made cat great left on thier own or was shown the door.  The name on the building  isn't what made cat great.  You can't buy a name and loose the people and expect it to stay the same...
