    Been looking, nothing yet.

I'm starting to think this helmet was a Clary Sports thing. Maybe they had the electric shields made themselves.

Nothing comes up in a search.

    Could be ....

    The modular?

My buddy bought the modular last year and never wore it. We were out last week in -17ish temps and he was frozen. Icicles hanging from his eyelashes and eyebrows and his face was beet red. He said when he got in to my dust it would snow inside his helmet.

I have read similar reports like this over the last few years about GMAX.

Myself, I have my Nolan modular with electric shield that I paid a good buck for at the Snowmobile show in Toronto a few years ago. Clary Sports from Quebec was the sole distributor. It has the built-in communicators. I got one for Di at the same time. Love the helmet, its a warm, comfortable, quality piece.

A couple of years ago I broke the connector on the electric cord. These helmets use a special insert-and-turn type of connection at the shield so that the cord won't become detached. Great idea except when tugged on there is nothing to give so the wires themselves become the weak link. I email and call Clary for the part. I don't get a response so I start hunting electronic shops and find a piece that fits and adapt that to my cord, not perfect but it works. I finally hear from Clary and I order a couple cords and a replacement shield since mine was scratched.

Since I've hardly ridden the last 2 years, I never got around to mounting the replacement shield. I put it on last week. Damn, look at that, they changed the fitting for the cord to a conventional RCA type plug. PERFECT. Wish I'd done it sooner. I email Clary right away to get another shield for Di as she has the last real cord on her helmet and its hanging by a thread.

They email back "Sorry, all Nolan snowmobile product was discontinued and we have nothing left in parts."

    >:(

We paid $900/each for these helmets with communicators. A few years ago they came out with a communicator with double the range so I bought those for around $400 and change.

Now I can't buy a fucking shield? Really?

That sux , maybe eBay get a few .

357 kms today... rear suspension is totally dicked on the rental.....my back is sore as fuck from bottoming out....rentals going back first thing in morning....gonna try and ride my buddies wife if my back lets me...but i doubt it. :wall:

    Interesting ........

  4. As Puzzler will say , I grew up riding the old mans Johnson .......

and getting parts in the early 80’s was already getting scarce .

And I wanted to move into a newer sled , now being in the appliance bidness, there was always stuff kicking around . And I was working with my dad already , so I said I think I could get people to trade for   a sled . He said , you fix it , you find the deal , make the deal , you fix the sled , and you got  a deal . I was 14 I think .

So I would cold call people in the buy and sell and super shopper and try to make deals , and I did . Started out with 4500’s , sonic, Escapade and few others , went through a few , fix and flip , until I was able to buy a 90 mach , free and clear . Learned a lot on wrenchin them . Every sled was restored , and would sell easy .

Was a lot of fun .

Is winter & the accompanying cold temps a new development in Canada? Last winter we had a short winter & the previous 2 were typically cold.

I wish the media would shut the fuck up about the weather NOW! Dave Devall must be shaking his head & Percy Saltzman is rolling over in his grave over the nightly reports of the winter horrors of snow & cold that we have to endure nowadays. Most of the winter the lead story on the 6 PM news is somehow related to the weather.

You'd almost think we were in Brownsville TX.

My Dad , who’s 86 , would always tell me how he would say to my grandfather .

    “ It’s cold out .... “

    his response in broken German

    “ Well , it’s winter ...... “

everday is now snowmageddon, or extreme arctic cold !

    Meanwhile .....     “ It’s winter ..... “

Ya, I have Tenders on my Bikes in the house garage but its too much hassle in the back shed. I need to do some wiring back there.

The Cat and Doo are good to go after a trickle charge. Not so for the Yamaha. It needs a new battery. So much for Royals Crank series. Going back to a Yuasa.

What about Odyssey batteries ? Heard there suppose to pretty good .

I talked to that guy by email yesterday. He was selling a Mini Z and mentioned the Kitty Cat in the ad. He's owned it for 3 years. Hasn't done anything to it. He was asking $1300 but then he noticed the tear in the seat.

Look at the pic from the front. The hood has been crashed and patched back together with sheet metal and a piano hinge. To me, it needs a new hood, belly pan, bumper and a decal kit at the least.

Might end up looking at both if i go that way. They are only a short distance apart.

Ya that’s why I said , pics get no so mint lol .

will need a new cowl , decals . Or at least a lot of work on the front .
