Also, the Rotax 912 is an aerospace engine; it has more in common with a Continental or Lycoming, than it does a sled engine.    Boxer layout, dual ignition, etc.  Renegade - An Avanti is a pusher, as are most all fans. 

The Test pilot and engineer were killed due to pilot error.  It's looking like Halladay's death could be also.  The TMZ vid shows the wreckage up close.  Some were saying he was fucking around..... shouldn't be too long before some good data from the investigation emerges.  Here's a grab I took from the vid.  Never good to see landing gear on a wrecked amphib, but It's possible the damage to the hull/gear bay is severe enough that it simply exposed the retracted gear. Would have to see more of it.  

Extended landing gear and water landings don't mix well. 

 

Its still a POS.  Not something I'd ever buy or fly in

They are a tiny little pusher plane that can land in water.  If you read up about them, a bunch of people have been killed in them (test pilot, the designer of the plane).  Personally, I would never get in a pusher at all.

I was in the same boat as you when I was younger.  Really wanted a sport bike but insurance was crazy. I bought a Suzuki GS500 1st and rode it for a few years.  Didn't really make my insurance go down though. I had to wait till 25 when it drops then I bought a CBR 600. My advice is go get your full M asap and look at something without a "R" in the name. There are some nice bikes out now like that. Kawi -Z, Suzuki SV, Yamaha YZ etc.  They will still go pretty good.  We've all been there that ride when we were young, it sucks. 

With no insurance, like ODot said, they will sue the shit outta you if you were in a accident. And you probably dont wanna get into the habit of running from the cops. Helicopters are pretty quick 

It is kinda weird that don't hear much about the chick going around saying everyone is gonna die before it all went down

I'd have to say I'm extremely fortunate.   She always tries to learn my hobbies or at least be a part of them.   I've tried getting her into bow hunting but she doesn't think she can kill one.   Loves to scout, set up cams, plant food plots and do everything but shoot.   She even will go sit in a tree stand when I'm in another to watch activity in that area.    Her only hobby growing up was skiing and I haven't really tried that.   I like sledding too much.   Only so much time.   

I have to admit I don't do a ton of recreation stuff with my wife. She will ride on the back of the Harley but sledding and dirt biking Im with my buddies.  Shes kinda a bitch lol
