We were through there last summer doing the Glooscap Trail. Beautiful area and great people. Really shitty thing to have happen there.

Hydrocarbon buildup is when you huff too much gasoline vapour into your lungs Frankie. Which is about every day for you.

Had to laugh yesterday when I saw like a 1993 Dodge pickup towing a large hay wagon with 15 or so round bales. Right behind it was a crew cab dually towing a single horse trailer. Seemed funny, like the trucks should have switched places.

Always amazes me how many people think they can let a car get repossessed and be off the hook for the balance owing. Usually costs them way more money than it would have if they could figure out a way to complete the payments.

Switching companies. After shopping around we’ve found the same coverage for under $2200. Pretty happy about that. Thanks for the replies, happy new year.
-
Yeah. I’ve bought them and had the lead tit on the end of the cable missing, or one cable is longer than the other on a dual carb setup. Now I just buy oem when it’s available. Pay a bit more but it always fucking fits.

I just think it should be reasonably affordable for the kids that drive properly. At least give them a chance. If they screw up, then they can pay big after that. Why should he have to pay extra to subsidize the ones who choose to drive like jackwagons and wreck shit? And we’re lucky really. While it will sting, we can pay it. Many people can’t.

Thanks for the replies. Seems to be a case of this company (Economical) was the cheapest last year but has had mega claims from young drivers and has jacked their rates accordingly. Sucks that even the responsible ones get painted with the same brush but it is what it is. Insurance agent has driving aged kids and seems sympathetic to our concerns. She is hoping to find something cheaper. We’ve got a bit of time to hopefully sort it out.

$2400 sounds like an error. $3600 sounds pretty reasonable. My son was over $4000 for the first 2 years and that was 8-9 years ago.
He's been wit Economical since day one. He was down to $1200 with full coverage last year (at 25 yr old) until they found out about his 1 speed ticket, back up to $2000.
I just have a hard time believing $3600 is reasonable

His car is an 08 Chev Malibu without collision coverage. Collision would double it as would a more sporty/foreign/Asian car.
We are with the Co-Operators and I have been with them since I was 16.
His own stand alone policy. Just the bare minimum insurance to be legal. The idea was to get him started on his own so he would take responsibility for his driving habits, I personally know three people whose kids have seriously fucked their insurance rates from multiple speeding tickets and stunt driving. We were willing to help with the insurance payments if needed, but he decided to pay for the whole year in one shot by himself. I bought the car for $200 needing a transmission, fixed it, put it in his name and handed him the keys so that helped.

You wouldn't be bitchin about over 50% increase for no damn reason? We're not rich people. We do ok, but it's a lot of money. Especially for a 17 year old. We don't mind helping him pay it, but it just doesn't seem fair. He's a good kid with good driving habits. Some of his classmates, not so much.

My 17 year old boy has a job, his own car and pays his own insurance. Drivers education course. Zero tickets, zero accidents, nothing. His first year of insurance cost $2400 which we could understand as a new driver. Just got the renewal in the mail, over $3600. Just basic insurance on a 2007 Impala. I’m ready to loose my shit. This is fucking robbery. Obviously we’re looking to change companies, is there any left in Ontario that don’t fuck you without lube?

They need to hire all these slut teachers, put them all together in one school and if your kid is being really good like doing all his chores and shit, he gets to go there for summer school.

My neighbor had a big fuckin Doberman. He asked me to look after if for a couple days while he was away. The first night I went into the house to feed him and I got half way up the hallway and the fucker came around the corner all slinked down low and slowly coming towards me like he was ready to lunge and rip my throat out. I backed the fuck outa there and called the neighbor, he says that's just a game they play when he comes home from work. Fuck man, you could have told me that!
