You bought into the FEAR its the only way to get things done with you.

Doug could have stopped any job action within minutes  but lets just take their Bargaining away DOUG FOR THE PEOPLE (hasn't really proved true yet)

More stupidity from the forum idiot... it can't be stopped in minutes and you completely overlook the time it takes to shut down Pickering and start up again but what else is new. Can we shut off power to your house for a week? How happy will you be when everything in the freezer thaws, the heat goes off, you don't have a stove or fridge or lighting.

SloganMan said there isn't any use talking with GM, ITS OVER DONE.

Don't worry SloganMan will take full credit for all jobs gained by GM employees.

Sure glad the Union is trying to help the employees in talks with GM - Sloganman isn't doing a thing according to his own words

When you die they need to study your brain. As for GM it is over it is done. The decision by GM has been made. It isn't changing. The fact they are and included from day one of the announcement to help people transition isn't anything new. If you looked at large corporations when they have had restructures they have typically provided counselling, assistance in finding alternative employment, training options and of course preferential opportunities to other available jobs in the company.

The union went to GM corporate made a presentation and guess what, no change. They are still closing.

What do you think the union is doing for them now?

The union management is more concerned about losing their jobs and putting on a dog and pony show so they can say we fought hard for you, we tried but weren't successful.

While white flag waving SlogamMan gives up and is now blaming Trudeau, we have GM stepping up and willing to pay for training to becoming a tech and other jobs.

over 2000 jobs have been identified with GM in the Durham region.

It won't be long before Doug says it was his doing in talks with GM

but really he has done ZERO

I guess you've been asleep, right from the start GM already said they would provide transition assistance and finding alternate employment. That's pretty common with any large business. They hook you up with employment counselling, placement agencies etc. Typically displaced persons are given preference if qualified for other internal job openings as well.

More stupidity. How many people should lose power to their homes in the middle of winter before the province acts? I guess you don't know it would take days to shut down and days to bring the systems back online after being shut down. Meanwhile no heat, no lighting, for everyone, no cooking or hot water for many, but that's just fine in your world.

Exactly what do you want the police to do at the border when a mother and child cross illegally?  shot them? I will wait for your answer

The same thing that would happen at a legal border crossing. Deny them entry and send them back. Load them on a bus and take them back to the US at a legal border crossing. Pretty simple even for you to figure that one out.

No I couldn't do your job nor do I want to. 30 second conversation about anything mechanical and you'd be lost too. You may as well plow the roads and parking lots as well. Come in and operate a refrigeration system at rec centers or local arenas well you are at it.

Let's hear the dangers of your daily tasks?

You seem to be skimming past the key phrases "UNSKILLED" and "GENERAL LABOUR"  The government has doctors, lawyers, nurses and more that are all highly skilled. They are in a totally different category. You'd be surprised what I understand and know about the mechanical world, especially power (diesel generators) and cooling. Data centres require significant cooling or face hardware failures.

Maybe we can talk about cfm of cool air, dissipation, heat containment and conversion of kWA to BTU and more. We actually may have something we both understand.

So what do you do for the city.... cut the grass? You couldn't do what I do if you're life depended on it. 30 seconds of technical conversation and you would be lost. Go ahead and try to deny the fact that there is a huge number of no skill people making inflated incomes working for the city. Okay since it's winter we'll forget the guy cutting grass. How about the guy that runs a Bob Cat down the suburban sidewalks to clear the snow the residents have already cleared themselves.

Average City of Toronto General Worker hourly pay is approximately $27.56, which is 92% above the national average. That is fact

Now that doug hasn't a clue about health care you are willing to listen to the workers

Why do we pay Doug's health Minister?  apparently Doug says they can't do the job and have no knowledge of the system.

Management 101 HIRE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK petty sure that will end much of the problems in hospitals

    ARE YOU LISTENING?

Fail... I wouldn't let you manage a kids lemonade stand. You'd screw that up. So don't even pretend you have the slightest idea about managing people. There's an enormous difference between highly skilled doctors and nurses and the vast number of low or no skill government workers. You know the guys that cut the grass in city parks as an example. Average City of Toronto General Worker hourly pay is approximately $27.56, which is 92% above the national average.

Of course you will deny the facts and claim they deserve much more. It's a given.

We are talking about the health system which is highly process and procedure driven. The people working that system know it best and can make the recommendations on how to eliminate,  wait for it.... administrative government waste.

Something Doug has been doing is working to minimize the administrative and red tape waste commonly known as low hanging fruit. Ontario Hospitals spend more on administration than hospitals in other provinces.

    https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2012/04/05/ontario_hospitals_spend_more_on_administration.html

You want to bet the doctors and nurses can tell you what bureaucratic administrivia is just waste without any value add.

I always listened to input from my teams. They knew what they did daily better than anyone else. They didn't make the final decisions though and shouldn't. You continue to prove how little you know about management and you are just another drain on the taxpayer.

Friends with kids in school have told me how they have been solicited to provide input on the education system, what the priorities should be and changes to the curriculum. Something that never happened with Wynnebag.

Go back to wasting taxpayer money Fail... it's the one thing you do well.

Flag waving Doug is now happy to admit he hasn't a clue about Health Care and has decided to let the front line workers run the show.

you can't make this shit up

First order of business is to hire thousands of nurse to relieve the back load

Dumb as a stump Fail continues as usual. During the campaign he said he was going to listen to the doctors and nurses on how to fix the problems with the hospitals. Management 101 which obviously you never took... listen to the people doing the job. Most of the time they already have the answers and just need someone to approve a decision.

I got one telling me they were going to lower the interest rate on all of my credit cards. They wanted to start with my Visa card. They said that is the one that starts with a 4, please confirm the rest of the number so we can make sure we have the correct number on our records. It's 16 digits. All Visa cards start with 4.

Once the Province takes it over Ontario will be among the most subsidized -  might be a good thing

The BOLD is typical 02sled blame some workers and want lower wages.....   TTC is one of the best systems in the world, why do you think they steal our leaders :dunno:

    such a clown

More BS from the mental midget Fail. Where did I say blame workers... oh that's right... I didn't. Fail you sure are good at making things up. What I did say and you put in bold was

Run it better and actually make it self sustainable.   Of course an idiot like you would think it's run efficiently and not wasting money. I was at a conference last week which was attended by people from both public and private. We all compare notes. The waste those working in the public sector shook their heads at and told others of were shining examples.

Oh look at that... we didn't spend all of our budget for this year. Lets' get all 400 people new office chairs. There's nothing wrong with the ones we have but we MUST spend the money because it's there. .

Back in Windsor we had a place called A&H Nut and Bolt. You could go into their retail part and grab a paper bag and take hand fulls of what ever nuts, bolts washers etc and just paid by the pound.

Is there anywhere around that does that? Not the Home Depot or Princess Auto where you put the Qty and item number on a bag and pay per piece.

I can't see that working especially in the stores like Home Depot or Princess Auto. Their inventory replenishment would be automated based on sales. They set a threshold of 500  1/4 X 1 bolts as the reorder point, sales are tracked by stock number and when they hit that 500 they automatically replenish up to 1500.

Inter Provincial Trade is important, but until Doug tells you this you will not agree.

Provincial matters are a Premier concern, not federal business

Pay attention Fail. Cherry picking what suits you again. The full context of what was said was that if he was going to have to listen to Trudope and Climate Change Barbie lecture on how wonderful everything was and how we need to do more for climate change no matter what the cost he would leave. He also expected quite reasonably as did the other ministers that the hot topics impacting their provinces economies be part of the agenda. A bunch of Trudope fluff and nothing more would be meaningless.

Dumb as a stump Fail continues. Nothing new. Where did I say unlicensed and untaxed daycare... oh that's right I didn't. As usual...your imagination is in overdrive. Pay attention. Parents are lamenting the high cost and the availability of daycare. He is simply easing the requirements, not erasing the requirements which will in all likelihood result in more spaces and lower costs.

The issue I would have with this is the TTC would become one of those Campaign promise things every year just like Health Care and Education.  I am not sure some voter in the north or southern ontario cares about the TTC and shouldn't have to pay for it.

Another issue is lets just use Doug as an example he will push for nothing but subways underground, next guy comes in and changes it and so on.  it would be The Rob and Doug show all over again.   They are the reason Toronto has gotten little done in the past 8 years, but its better now with Tory.

On the other hand expansion could be good done at a faster rate if the purse is opened up - which will happen sooner or later money money.

    Dig to sudbury I say

If TTC was operated by the province you could expect to see it expand outside of Toronto which would be a good thing. Right now it doesn't get a provincial subsidy. What makes you think it would suddenly be subsidised by the province. How about a novel approach. Run it better and actually make it self sustainable.

Still thinking this isn't FORDS friend?

Now we find out he was 3 levels short for the job so Doug changed the hiring rules and qualificationsn needed....

but Doug had nothing to do with it (again) lol going to hear this often in the next 4e years

I am okay with it if  you are.

So far nothing more than politically motivated rhetoric. You miss a couple of key points. One Doug has to sign off on any job appointment of that level. That would exclude an awful lot of people from being able to fill the job. When Fantino got the job try and tell me that Wynnebag or was it McSquinty at the time didn't know Fantino well.

It's not Trudope hiring someone for the job. If it was all males would have been excluded. Now you're also making assumptions but what else is new? Who says Doug changed the requirements. The committee changed the requirements. How many people do you think there are in Canada that would be eligible for the job under the initial prerequisites. It would be a very small pool of people. Then of that small pool how many would be interested in moving for the job. That reduces the pool even further.

It's not a new concept that if you can't find interested candidates for the job you change the requirements. I've seen it many times.

  19. So now Trudope wants to throw the immigration door wide open. Even more than he already has. The media must be educated to comply with politically correct terms and prohibited from distributing any negativity on immigration. Remember... Trudope admires the Chinese government. They control their media too.

  21. We are shelling out an average of $14,000.00 per illegal person walking across the border and claiming to be a refugee.... oops... Trudope likes to call them irregular immigrants.

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/pbo-budget-officer-asylum-seekers-costs-1.4924364

That cost will go up as the number of them increases and the wait times for processing increases. But of course he doesn't have money for our veterans who want more than we can afford to give. So a family of four walks across the border and costs Canadians $56,000.00 and he doesn't see that as a problem.

Campbells is shifting production to existing US plants with existing US employees. They will just ramp up production. Only an idiot like you can't see the difference.
