If handguns are banned in Toronto, then what? Are the gang bangers going to turn in their guns for a new iphone?

Will the police be able to stop people they suspect are carrying?

Don't forget ammunition. They want to ban handguns and ammunition in Toronto. That will stop the criminals for sure. Just ask David Miller how well it worked when he was Mayor and came up with similar ideas. The only real result was the Sportsmen show moved to the privately owned Convention Centre instead of the CNE since he declared that legal gun sales couldn't possibly happen on city property.

Perhaps Trudope giving the legal system some real teeth and imposing some meaningful penalties for an illegal gun could make a difference. The revolving door where the police arrest the criminals and they are quickly back on the street isn't working. Similarly the Young Offender BS needs to be amended. If you're carrying an illegal gun or use it in a crime you no longer get the young offender "bad boy" don't do that again slap on the wrist and actually have a real penalty for your actions. Get them to experience the consequences of their actions before they are hard core gang members.

Simple... the Saudi's don't need Canada and there is only one person to blame.... Trudope for his incessant attempts to stick his nose where it doesn't belong. Trying to interfere in the internal policies and laws of a foreign country.

Is that now 15 years without a pay raise?

As I read the article the pay scales for a specific job are frozen which simply means that the starting rate and top rate for a certain position are frozen. So the position which had a top rate of $120K won't have that top rate go up to $135K. It will remain at a maximum of $120K

says pending pay adjustments for managers, executives and staff not covered by collective bargaining will be on hold “until th e new government can put in place an expenditure management strategy.”

He's halted stupid things like the employer paying for newspaper subscriptions. You want a newspaper delivered to your office, pay for it yourself.

The documents says merit pay for the current performance cycle will not be affected, however

So they will still get raises based on their prior year job performance (merit)

The newly ousted Liberals had imposed a five-year wage freeze on public sector executives and managers. As it lifted last year, broader public sector agencies were required to post their proposals for new executive compensation packages under a framework that capped salaries at the 50th percentile of “appropriate comparators.”

The Wynnebag Fiberals had a wage freeze that ENDED LAST YEAR. Doug is continuing the freeze until the current government can conduct their review and put their policies in place

  11. https://www.thestar.com/news/queenspark/2018/07/03/doug-ford-freezes-salaries-of-public-service-managers-orders-review-of-executive-pay.html

Atta boy Doug.... Wynnebag never had the balls to stand up to them.

Ontario’s new premier has frozen the wages of public service managers and ordered a review of executive and management compensation in his latest effort to curb government spending.

A memo posted on the government website Friday — the day Doug Ford was sworn in as premier — says pending pay adjustments for managers, executives and staff not covered by collective bargaining will be on hold “until the new government can put in place an expenditure management strategy.”

The documents says merit pay for the current performance cycle will not be affected, however.

Ford had previously put the public service under a hiring freeze, except for essential frontline staff such as police and corrections officers, and halted discretionary spending such as newspaper subscriptions.

The Progressive Conservative leader campaigned on a promise of fiscal responsibility and vowed to find billions in efficiencies each year without cutting jobs. He has also pledged to launch a line-by-line audit of government spending to help eliminate waste.

The Tories said Tuesday the wage freeze would apply until the audit and compensation review are complete.

Under its previous leader, the party had promised to review the salaries of public sector CEOs and other executives if elected to government.

The newly ousted Liberals had imposed a five-year wage freeze on public sector executives and managers. As it lifted last year, broader public sector agencies were required to post their proposals for new executive compensation packages under a framework that capped salaries at the 50th percentile of “appropriate comparators.”

Normally I agree, but I had someone tailgating the living shit out of me today and there were cars in both lanes as far as the eye could see on slight hills.

I prefer to leave a bit of a gap when traffic is like this.

Thought crossed my mind of dropping a gear and seeing what happens, but I do like the Scooby Doo too much to do it.

When you haven't anywhere to go, other vehicles in front of you and to the right of you and you have a tailgater they need to back off. I haven't tried it on the new truck but on the old one with a factory electronic brake controller it was really easy. If you activated the brake controller manually even without a trailer connected it would activate the trucks brake lights. I could do a quick flash or full on of the brake lights for as long as you squeezed the two levers together.

  16. Harper is going to visit the White House... likely he can do more good than Trudope has been able to do on the trade front.

    https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/politics/harper-blindsides-trudeau-pmo-plans-visit-to-white-house-1.3992079

U.S. has suggested it would be a lot easier to have a Canada / U.S. trade agreement and achieved much sooner than an all inclusive Canada / U.S. / Mexico agreement. Canada could have it's own Canada / Mexico agreement. Later a U.S. / Mexico agreement could be reached but Trudope is standing firm on all or nothing. If Mexico isn't part of a single agreement it's a no go.

Sounds like the playground kid who says play by my rules or I'm taking my ball and going home. Oh don't forget Trudope is still pushing the gender BS as part of a trade agreement.

He needs to go before he screws up Canada as badly as Wynnebag did Ontario.

You're the one that said I wasn't making sense, I made perfect sense when I said that things do not bring happiness and that is correct.

You could poll thousands of people and I would bet my life that most people would agree that blowing 3k on a purse would be extremely dumb, except for you. :lmao:

Depends on the demographic of who you poll. A bunch of men likely would get that result. A bunch of women who have very good incomes would probably say it's worth it. You do realize they sell lots of these purses for $3K and more. There's even a solid market for used ones.

You are delusional if you truly believe that "things" bring happiness to ones life, I used to be guilty of thinking that way once but not any more.

It would be a pretty boring life, at least for us if we didn't have the things that we have enjoyed over the years. We have truly enjoyed having the trucks and SUV's, her horse, the boats, the sleds, the fishing tackle and other things that our hard work provided for. What's the point of working if you don't enjoy the benefits that income will provide? We would be bored as hell without them. As for the other things you deny your wife... my wife likes looking good when we go out and I enjoy seeing her looking good so we both win.
