Lol. One day perhaps...... still whip yo' ass in the meantime.

Obviously, they only break when ridden aggressively.
You're still at Fusion-level.
Just now, Tommy said:Ive bag driven 3 800 axys sleds and one 600.....
never had one lick of grief yet poodle

As Poncho says, those numbers are meaningless unless you run them at the same time. Stock Mach Zs were well into the 120s, but you have to compare them at the same time to other sleds regardless.
The Spinegrinders seem to perform well; I haven't ridden one to see how it handles..... I thought guys liked those chassis?
Just now, Tommy said:Yamaha is still not even on the same level as Polaris and Skidoo....
Want to spend $20k plus and go fast in a straight line on a heavy sled? buy a sidewinder. no doubt they are fast. but they arent that fast until you throw another couple thousand at them .... stock one i ran against last year went 117mph.... i was on ponchos old clapped out 800 indy and went 111mph..
Now you want to have an ear to ear grin? by a polaris or doo that that does fast in a straight line and still goes around a corner... Polaris has nothing on an srx? you buy one and then come for a ride up north next year. Ill bet you im still at the bar while your at the hotel watching eyelid theater after muscling a damn 4 stroke yamaha all day

All sleds blow belts now and then..... that's somewhat easier to fix trail-side than a busted crankshaft.
JB Weld, anyone?
-
And do you know when Doo started designing their 850? I know the Poo engine is an older design; it uses an induction system from the last century.
I was referring to their market timing, not the actual engine. Don't get your Poo panties all in a bunch. Anyway, hopefully their new 850 works well, and the crankshafts don't snap like on their 800s.
-
So, for 7 years.... they were "fine tuning it", but they copied an entire 850 engine in only 2 years?
Ummmmh.... no.
I think they were hedging on the Rush. And we all know how that worked out.....
-
No, but I certainly wouldn't add louder exhaust to them to make them sound faster.....
I know kids like this new fart can stuff, but there's still no replacement...... for displacement. And they still sound like Van Wilder's golf cart.
I am getting old..... lol
Just now, Blackstar said:Come on. Are you really that old?
Who doesn't want to hear a turbo spool. The red line is 6500rpm.
Most common mods to these cars are cat back exhaust, air intake and blow off valves.
All of them make noise, non of them add any noticeable performance......lol
Did you add quieter mufflers to your average corvette?

My ol' Yukon King handles just as well as that new fad stuff.....

Actually some of us still are ......

There's a 1959 Doo hidden in the Valcourt museum warehouse with factory working IFS.
I guess they thought it was unnecessary at the time for the 8hp muscle sleds.....

Poo is still second, Cat and Yamaha are behind Poo. I'd say Yamaha's days are numbered in the sled industry.

"So, for 2019 Yamaha is going to do something that takes great discipline. Instead of adding more and more aggressive incentives to clear units, which costs the OEM significantly, they are cutting production – significantly. This also costs the OEM but is better for the dealer network and customers as far as resale.
For 2019 Yamaha is not only cutting the total number of units being built, they will only be offering 12 models vs. their 34 models last year. 5 of the 12 models for 2019 are spring-order only, leaving us with only SEVEN stocking models for 2019. There will be no Japanese-made models (Vector, Venture, Viking, Phazer) except the VK 540 two-stroke work sled."18 hours ago, irv said:Sorry to say Tommy, but it doesn't look like even the new Polaris has anything on the new Yamaha SRX. You might not want to watch that release tomorrow.
Speaking of which, is Doo still number 1 in sales? With the amount of Yamacats around, I would hazard a guess they can't be far behind?

I'm sure it is fun, but who needs to hear a little 4 banger? (No offence.) That would be like putting through-hull exhaust on a Merc 3.0.
I'd rather hear the stereo!

2013 Focus ST, 252 hp, 6 speed trans, 0-60 of 5.9 sec, 1/4 mile in 14.6 at 95 mph.
We deleted the symposer and added a Ford performance Cat back exhaust for real noise.
Its a fun little car.

Anything's possible..... Wonder why they never brought it to market?

Why would a Focus need engine noises in the cabin?
18 hours ago, Blackstar said:The sleds already comes with Bluetooth so.....put on your helmet with built in Bluetooth speakers, select from a menu of available engine/exhaust types and BRAAAAPP all you want, as loud as you want.
The auto manufacturers are already doing similar things. My son's Focus has the Sound Symposer system. When you are hard on the throttle, the engine vacuum opens a port to the interior allowing engine noises into the cabin.

I heard SG got in shit for revealing the 2019 Doos before BRP did.... lol

Yep, 850cc with an R-Motion copy skid. "Class Leading Durability". 15 year old SDI tech......
See, Polaris is innovative.....
Looks like the Rush's days are numbered....

That's what we used to say about automatics in sports cars. Now, the automatics are so good (better than most drivers), every exotic specs them, usually with quicker acceleration times.....
But, the 100 km range is a bit ghey.
2 hours ago, StevieWonder said:I watched today about electric cars and how they are the future , how in the last ten years the massive improvements , market share , acceptance , fast charge speeds , and will only get better , faster and cheaper in price as the tech .
Same with sleds , ya someone will say Gheeeeyyyyyy , until that electric sleds absolutely destroys they’re top speed . Over and over .

Good thing they manufactured more than one relay, and one fuse.
On 3/2/2018 at 9:59 AM, Tommy said:Same shit cat released already.... Boring.... Just more shit to break. So you pop a fuse or a relay that controls the suspension.... Are you stuck in firm mode in 8-14'' chop?
Yam and cat can have that BS

What I find so interesting about that, is that Yamaha is truly a world-class engineering and build company. Look at some of the bikes they've built, current R-bikes, etc. Astounding performers, purposeful, excellent build quality, and some smart design stuff.
Why is it that their snowmobiles are always a tad eccentric, different enough to alienate mainstream buyers, etc.? Not knocking them at all, but when it comes to sleds, some of their stuff is questionable.
Like the time the rep at the sled show tried to explain what that shock absorber was doing attached to the rear bumper..... poor bastard..... lol
