Makes sense, and since they put out the guarantee it will be the first one across the lake, I guess they had better make sure it is.

    The electronic suspension sounds interesting.

Still a Yamacat though. Are there any "real" Yamaha sleds left other than the VK540V? Is the Bravo Trapper still available? Apex? I guess we find out in five days or so.

Nice looking sled, but questioning the 1" track? :dunno:

More top end speed, and better to stud since it requires shorter, therefore lighter and more durable studs.

I don’t doubt it......but that name doesn’t ring a bell....  This guy, Dick wasn’t in business long, big guy, older like us...lol, walked with a limp....anyway I will dig up the name eventually.  Cheers

So if I've got this right, you're telling us that you bought the sled from big, old, limpy Dick? Well the industry was pretty crazy in the 90's..............

I saw that and thought the same thing

Considering that I got $1100 for my '89 Cheetah Touring, I would say that ad is about half-retarded anyways.

I think I paid that back in 91 when I bought the same sled for my wife...Christmas present for her from me....she loved it...two years later I traded it for a brand new 93 Jag Z 440. To this day she says the 93 Z was the nicest sled she has every had....

Funny you mention the sled purchase price from back in the day. I was just saying to a co-worker that in 1982 a new Bravo's suggested list price was  $995. In good shape they easily fetch more than that now. I know that it mostly due to our devalued dollar, but I wonder if the same will be true of any new sleds being sold now?

BTW, my buddy bought a Jag Z in '93. They really were great sleds.

Apparently there was so much fog she didn’t know were she was.  If I was in that position my kid would come to shore with me or I would  have died trying. How is she going to live with this?

That is also what I heard. She didn't see the "Road Closed" signs due to the fog which is completely believable. The fog was so thick up here that night my wife literally had to stop several times on her way home and get her bearings or risk driving off the road.

Most people don't realize but it only takes about 24" of water to start floating the average passenger vehicle. Once the tires lose contact with the road any sort of current will easily sweep it away.

A very sad story regardless and an absolute living nightmare for the mother I am sure.

Where’s Deisel , get him out there :)

Pretty sure that Glenn has his hands full just trying to keep trail 15 viable in his neck of the woods.

I took B trail to 3/B back to gravenhurst on Saturday from baysville area, remind me to never do that again. I was trying to avoid the long road run on 44, I'd rather the road run.

I hear ya.  Snowcrust has really dropped the ball. Used to be the best trails out this way, now they are all but forgotten. B trail has literally been groomed once in three years, lots of the signage is f*cked/missing, very little brushing has gone on, etc. That is a big part of the reason why we sold our sleds. I'm almost to the point that I would prefer to see the trails shut down completely out here rather than die slowly from neglect.

  8. I was back by the snowmobile trail yesterday cutting firewood and saw more sleds go past than I have in a long time.  Beauty day for it. Sad to think that the season might be over in mid-February.  I'm holding out hope that we don't get as much rain as they are calling for.

    How did Phil do?

Not so well.  He was leading the first lap when the PTO carb float valve stuck open and it started puking fuel. He was down at least three laps by the time he got it sorted. He did make a valiant effort to gain back ground, but it was too late. I think that he ended up two laps off the pace.

Its all your fault Pete. Also can I park in your driveway to go sledding tomorrow lol. Looks like muskokas will be ok this weekend, besides the road running.

You can launch from here if you want. I can always find a spot to park a truck and trailer.

Didn’t lake of bays atv club open some winter trials on the same trails the lake of bays sled club used and cause a bit turbulence I heard sled club just abandened trail and walked away?

I think that it was the Happy Wanderers that lost the trail to the ATV club. The land owner gave permission for ATV's or something like that.

    glad I sold my sleds

I hear ya. Even if we hadn't have sold when we did, this shit season would've likely precipitated the sale of them next fall. I doubt that I would be able to sell them then for as much as I did since they would be that much older - not to mention coming off of this stellar winter.

Either way, definitely no seller's remorse. If you want to get right down to it I still have two of the useless f*cking things in my garage anyways.

Things are starting to shape up in Muskoka. If the clubs can get out and groom some of this snow we got this past weekend should see a lot of trails going green. Get out and enjoy it boys, looks like another melt down on it's way starting Family Day weekend.

They only recently changed that forecast. Hopefully they are right. AccuWeather and the Farmers Almanac both are calling for rain in the last week of February and the first week of March.

    Nah,

We should be good, that is of course unless @DAVE plans to head back through ON again.

This is definitely one time that I am not happy to say that I called this one right, but what the hell - Nailed it.

  14. Anyway, back on topic to the (non)Winter of 2018 - nice freaking 14 day forecast. If it pans out like they are saying it will, we are all but done in Muskoka for this season.

    Thanks to Yamaha! :bc:

You aren't entirely wrong there Irv. I would say that Cat's fit and finish has benefited from the Yamaha relationship and Yamaha power in some of their sleds certainly can't hurt their sales.  Add in the fact that they currently are building some of the best looking sleds with the most reliable two-stroke motors on the market and you are bound to see plenty of them out there.
