What will it take for that to happen?  I mean he is a know ISIS sympathizer and had an ISIS flag?

The white Christian shooter in the Quebec mosque massacre was not charged as a terrorist either.  And he murdered 6 people.

There is no doubt we pay too much to the feds today and yesterday - when I brought this up under  Harper you all disagreed

You should be taxed extra just for being a ONEWAY nuisance

A recent U.S Congressional Budget Office study found that Canadian corporations, on average, paid an effective tax rate of 8.5 per cent — a lot lower than the statutory combined federal and provincial corporate tax rate of 26 per cent.

Every year, the richest 10 per cent get tax breaks of almost $58 billion. Those breaks have an impact on our capacity to deliver the services that make Canada a great place to live: health care, child care and education.

RR if we are going to protect these huge money earners, you and I will be the ones to pay the bills - take your pick

Tax the "rich" that is the answer to all your problems.

Then out of the other side of you mouth you say the government employees making $100k a year + need to make more.

    You're a fool.

Just a heads up for anyone planning to travel there in the next few months.

As you know they took a direct hit from irma.  The Jardines airport terminal is in bad shape, but the runway is apparently ok.   Afaik, you can't book a trip before nov 1.

We were/are planning a trip for late November, and are hoping the airlines will offer 2nd bag of aid at no charge.

I have the inside scoop on the status of the resorts, the ones that are listed closed are structurally compromised, and likely need to be rebuilt.

    Hotel Update

Cayo santa Maria, Mélia Cayo, Mélia Las Dunas, Playa Cayo, Royalton, Valentine, Eurostar, Dhawa, Memories and Grand Memories - THESE HOTELS ARE CLOSED.
Mélia Buenavista, Sol Cayo Santa Maria ARE to be rebuild
Starfish and Iberostar Ensenachos ARE  to be RENOVATED.

    FOR CAYO COCO:

Tryp Cayo, Playa Cayo and Pullman Iberostar Playa, Iberostar Daiquiri, Memories Caribe Beach, Sol Cayo Guillermo, Melia Cayo Guillermoto be rebuild

Pestana, Melia Jardines, Melia Cayo, Hotel Playa, Iberostar, Sercotel, Hotel Colonial, Iberostar Mojito, Falminco Memories, Sol Cayo Coco ARE CLOSED.

Went to Cayo Santa Maria a few years ago and stayed at the Eurostar.  Beautiful beaches but I would not go back to Cuba.  JMO.  I saw they took a direct hit - I suspect it is bad.  The causeway out there wasn't the greatest before the storm.

We were in St. Maarten last April - and they got hammered too.  Glad we got to visit before these bad storms.

I can dispute the brackets and get different numbers YES

notice the low end is 50k?  why? because it would throw the twisted numbers off.

Dude percent game is played well here

With the pending $15 minimum wage - someone working for Min wage in Ontario will make over $30K a year.  So $30K is the ENTRY point to the workforce.

  5. Ya - we don't pay enough!

Only 9.4% of taxpayers make $100K or more and collectively pay 73.1% of ALL FEDERAL INCOME TAX.

HIGH-INCOME CANADIANS PAY FAIR SHARE OF TAX: REPORT

Staff, with files from The Canadian Press / September 25, 2017

Two new reports offer insight on Canadian taxpayers, as tax fairness takes centre stage in the wake of Finance’s proposed tax reforms for businesses and incorporated professionals.Read: How Finance’s tax proposals will squeeze biz owners

A study from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, which uses data from 2014, finds that people who make more than $100,000 account for just 8.4% of taxpayers but pay 52% of the total tax bill. And those with incomes of $250,000 or higher represented 1% of all tax filers in 2014, and paid 21.1% of all federal income tax.

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently claimed that the middle class pay too much in taxes and the wealthiest don’t pay enough,” says study author Mark Milke, in a release. He’s referring to comments made by Trudeau earlier this month after a caucus meeting in Kelowna, B.C.

“The middle class could always use a tax break. But it is false to say higher-income Canadians do not pay their fair share,” says Milke.

The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives says just 0.7% of Canadian families are going to be impacted by the government proposal to not allow businesses to sprinkle income to other family members.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the government is figuring out how to ensure the proposed small business tax changes will make the tax code fair without stifling growth for small businesses and startups.

The Liberals have been saying for weeks the proposals circulated in a discussion paper by Finance Minister Bill Morneau in July were meant for discussion, and the final legislation will take into account feedback from Canadians.

Not that I'm aware of. I did however miss the way things were before and decide that our best chance at getting close to that level of fun was this place. I chose to only be active on one forum and fsce was our best bet at reclaiming the good old days. I have no issue with tbp and i like scooter and everyone else there. I just prefer us all on one site

I see. The good old days will never return unfortunately. Was fun while they lasted though.

In spite of , not because of

No , dubya was shit ....Obama was not the solution hence the 8 years of stagnant results. Given the massive wealth gap and wage stagnation it doesnt take much to set a record for middle class wealth although it is far far behind where it should be. Simple

Awe yes - the austerity path you clowns wanted to follow would have provide such a better outcome.

I could, but I'd rather @f7ben do it himself. I don't think he really broke one of our few rules, but it's uncalled for in my opinion.

I'm not telling him, just asking him politely to edit the post.

I can't see where he broke a rule though. http://www.freedomsledder.com/index.php?/guidelines/

If it's not against the rules why ask him to change it then?
