so in this thread we are going to discuss the ford/mazda inline 4. first came out as the zetec for ford and then turned into the duratec, then the ecoboost. idk what mazda called it but for both companies this engine was introduced in the late 90s or early 2000s. specifically if the reluctor wheels are different between the 2.3 and 2.0 duratec from 05 and 06. my race car is a 05 focus st 2.3 sedan, was told it has a bad motor but i am not sure. it is for sure out of time because my boss was looking at it and accidentally moved one cam shaft and it skipped some teeth. my parts car is an 05 or 06 focus 2.0l and a manual. the only difference i know between the 2.3 and 2.0 is that the 2.3 is internally balanced and has a slightly longer stroked crank. someone told me they don't easily swap from model to model and year to year. hopefully one of you experts and know it alls have experience with this engine and can tell me
