The weather up here sucks with no snow in the forcast and more rain over the weekend and mild temps. I have the cover on the sled in the garage so I'm not tempted to sit on it and make funny noises lol.

The only time I get anxiety about shit is this time of year. Booked a trip and it's all but gone. Sitting in the garage with WJ games on and tinkering with the sled and ready for a beer soon I think. :bc:

I was planning to do Quebec this year but I doubt it now. I've been invited to go to Thunder Bay and ride to Manitoba and back with a couple guys in their 70's. I said yes so we'll see if the trip pans out.

These same guys went to Quebec last year and rode 3000kms in 9 days.

Sounds like a good time. That's a decent drive to get there.

All the Doos I ride, I really like. I just can't get used to the feeling like Im gonna go over the bars. I tend to look for deep snow and hills so a good crossover is what I like. I did a couple 400 mile days on my Assault but those are rare. My Cat M , I just could not ride and literally could get higher in the hills on my assault that that. It tried to kill me more than once. Price was right and I think I only lost like $300 trading it. Build quality was on my 14 and 17 Cats was light years better than my 12. Ideal sled would be a 146 2.25 with Cat front end and Proslide Cat rear.

Yeah I wasn't foolish enough to ride a 12 cat.

I ride an SKS 146 and the riding position is really good. Kinda like an MX bike. More upright than most and puts you in a good position to handle bad stuff. My Assault was good but seat was a bit low. Harder to stand up for holes and shit.

I don't notice the length on my 146 until the trails get tight and slower. Then it is noticeable but not really a problem. My 144 Assault turned fine with tipped rails.

That's why I like it so much, never rode dirt bikes like you guys did but i love sitting up high so much better then the low riders i grew up on. Seats could be a bit wider though.

The build quality on the new cats is a lot better than 2012

Even my 17 was days better then the 14 but the chaincase still cracked.

Yeah, the nut freezing was weird.  Found that out the hard way.   Had some track pants on for a suspension shakedown run and it ended up being longer.  I literally stopped on the side of the trail and cupped my package for about ten minutes.  Shit!!!!!  My little helmet was tingly all night!!!!!

I ripped a pair of pants one year and had to wait till I got back to the hotel room for duct tape. Fuck it was chilly.

I think the Axys is a very comfortable sled. I’d sure rather ride that for 200 miles than any PC I’ve ridden.....or my old XRS.

It's definitely good for long days only issue I had on the PC was my knees hitting the cowl and the cold drafted right into my junk. Axys still drafts the wind there to but it's much more tolerant to it being on a hypersled!!!

Exactly.  I love the feel of the PC.  Was sold almost immediately after swapping sleds with my buddies PC when I was on the XP.

I for sure see that.  It’s good to be a midget sometimes.

I did the same after I rode a few axys after being on 2 PC's for 10k miles. Although they did ride great and only left me stranded twice it was the 2 cracked oil tanks and  1 chaincase, 1 starter and a destroyed primary that erked me.

We're not sure what we're doing yet. We're only 5hrs to Mt Laurier if we decide to go there. We usually plan trips with a buddy and his wife but she had major heart surgery and is fubared for this season.

I gotta get back to Quebec. Might be next year as I got 3 trips planned in Ontario already this season.

I did read that on OC. Hopefully that's the case. I know Midland has had trouble in the past. Weren't they the ones who tried to get the snowmobile club to pay for road damage a few years ago?

    I can't recall. :dunno:

He is going to ride it this week. It's up in northern Wisconsin. If it's as good as Wolfie says Vince could be on a skidoo by the weekend.

I bet he'll like it. Perfect sled for a touring fella as himself and still plenty of legs to stretch.

A lot of permit buyers down here and they want to ride local. The last 5 years have been tough as many trails in D5 have not opened due to lack of snow. I have to assume that most who are still in the sport have a trailer. But there is no doubt that these closures will put that last nail in the coffin for those who have been hanging on.

Lake Conestoga, FEB and Arthur are all in D9. They are the ones seeing the major closures.

Now , Its all over Facebook that Midland/Penetanguishene have closed trails for the same reasons.

Its an epidemic and we are probably lucky to have the trails we do for this winter. If the OFSC can't rectity the issue, I see mass closures for next season.

The midland/penatang issues look to be resolved this coming week.

As good as the XCR and it’s shocks are the RR package with the QS3’s and Cat’s front suspension is even better. I like the seating position and skid better on the Polaris better though. The engines I like both. Same with clutching.

A lot of crying going on about the rear end being soft for 250+ guys on the XCR indy. I'm gonna be a a bit pissed if it needs a revalve. Think I'll be fine with some adjustments as it set medium-soft now and I haven't bottomed in the 15 miles I have on it.
