Polices like naming China a currency manipulator on day one, replacing the ACA with a plan that has better coverage at half the cost, ending wars, letting 5000 taliban prisoners out and leaving 2500 US Troops and not involving the Afgahanastan govt., whoring out US military to SA.

I far from think there is a perfect candidate.

His China trade deal was/ is a joke to anyone except his supporters.

Simple, when feed, every form of bailing material, tractor and bailer parts prices goes up and availability goes down it hurt farmers.

He caved on his tariff deal, right before Christmas time when it would have perhaps hurt U.S retailers.  That did piss me off.

But his tariffs isn’t what caused this lasting increase in goods and services.      Maybe partially, but very little in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not placing blame on Trump or Biden. I was just commenting on Dairy Farms closing here in Vermont. I just read an article about it last week.

I know you weren’t.  Someone else appeared to be though. :dunno:

Vermont is in the same boat.

This has been going on for much longer than Trump and Biden.

we don’t have 1 active dairy left in our county, but that’s mostly due to urban sprawl.

Ive been around the feed business for nearly 30 years.  It’s like anything else, when the price goes up substantially like anything else, it’ll never come back down to what was once “normal”.

I got my drivers license when I turned 16 (1969) and the person asked me if I wanted a chauffeurs ( truck driver) license at the time. I said ok and paid my I believe $6 for the license.  I started driving the old man's tandem dump truck with a 2 stick and the rest is history. I retired after 50 years of driving various types of trucks from local to OTR and never had an accident.

    That’s a hell of a run! :bc:

as long as we are teaching our current employees and not for profit we are able to do in-house training, we have to follow the same FMCSA requirements as schools do, IMO most schools push student through the program with minimal qualifications just enough to pass road test, while there are good quality schools there are many more just looking at making a buck producing poor quality driver that should not be on the road, I have been driving commercially for 33 years and have seen my share of unqualified drivers on the highway

Agreed 100%.  I know young guys here that grew up driving trucks around the farm and they sat in that school for a month, paid the $5,000, right next to people that couldn’t speak a lick of English and had barely enough driving experience to operate a car on the road.  At the end of the school, everybody passed the test and walked out with their cdl.  :flush:

  7. :bc:  Pisses me off to no end that a responsible person with skills to drive a rig has to come up with $5000 and a month of his/her time to go to a "school" to be able to take a test to drive.  So you are now basically bypassing the schooling and teaching in house?  I thought that was no longer allowed?  :dunno:

What’s wrong with that? The protestors of the Vietnam war had lawyers too.

Nothing wrong, other then the fact the lawyer told them all the legal ways of protesting, and then they overstepped their boundaries and blocked entrance ways into the buildings.  They were asked to move, they didn’t.  They were told to move, they didn’t.

    So they were then moved.
