Well not that this wasn't well known already.

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/world/3408071/scott-bessent-trade-deal-biden-ignored/

“In January 2020, President Trump produced a template. We had an excellent trade agreement with China, and the Biden administration chose not to enforce it,” Bessent said. “The Chinese delegation basically told us that once President Biden came into office, they just ignored their obligations. So, you know, we all already have a large framework."

Mainly because no one was running the country.

  2. Don’t drink. But when I did, I couldn’t stand the taste of any beer. Taste like shit. 9 out of 10 people couldn’t tell the difference between one beer or another in blind taste testing. Other than maybe rice beers like Budweiser. Which is the shittiest taste ever. Fuck beer.

The rest of the world can pay for this research instead of Americans. And get them to stop spamming TV commercial air time so bad too lol

They already do. A lot of medicine comes out of Europe. A lot of medicine developed in the US can’t be used over there because of safety concerns.

  4. The democrats are now claiming that price controls on medication will cripple research. That’s the exact same line that republicans used when the democrats wanted the same. These people are all the same.

Isn't a prime motivator until they start earning less. Teachers often make the same claim then strike during the school year.

I took two substantial wage reductions. One in “91 and the another in “08. I could’ve went to another clinic and made up the difference and then some on both occasions. The other places I looked at had shit, extreme for profit administrations. Fuck that.

Wouldn't disagree with any of that but try attracting HC workers when you tell them you are going to put wage controls in place. What travelling nurses makes is absolutely insane.

My "regular" doctor is an ARPN. Absolutely top notch.

When my son was in intensive care for his TOS a ARPN or PA ran the floor. Even was the one who did rounds with the residents and asked questions to them. This was at U of I hospital and clinics and not some small time hospital.

I could see the administrative side of HC being and issue just like it is in our education system.

From my experience money isn’t a prime motivator for a caregiver. My satisfaction came from easing people’s difficulties. Seeing them become more functional. Reconnect with their families. Additionally, being supported by administration to create, think outside the box, and be respected. I would’ve worked another 2-3 years and made a few thousand less if those expectations would’ve been met. You’re right about the traveling nurses. I met a few. They have no sticks or bricks homes. They live out of a conversion van and bank their cash. Many use Starlink for remote care and never see the inside of a clinic

They do including what doctors and nurses make. As a past medical professional you think we should go that route?

The issue with doctors begins with their education. It’s too long, too difficult, too expensive, and from a practical point of view, much of what’s learned is useless. I’ve been of the opinion for years that the AMA imposes these guidelines and expectations to create a shortage of doctors. From my experience ANP’s are more on top of current medicine than many doctors. More needs to be done to encourage kids to look into healthcare jobs. There’s a major shortage of nurses, ANP’s, and doctors. But there also needs to be work from administration to make healthcare a better place to work. I fucking hated the administration of every clinic. More with private vs public health. But even now the same draconian measures have crept into public health. Healthcare is becoming a hellhole to work in. I could also go into state and federal statues….but that’s a whole nother rant. As is the effect of government direction during Covid. This is a very long video, but this ex-neurosurgeon talks about why he walked away. It’s another piece

I couldn't resist the easy money when it collapsed on hearsay. And Chicken Littles were running for the hills....Made a quick buck and I'm down to my only holding again. It's doing great and when that hits about 15 I'll be out of that one too.

Oh I'm still spending enough money..... Spent nearly a thousand on ornamental bushes/trees yesterday and 5 yards of mulch. ....... Having a new pool liner installed first week of June... So the money keeps going out But not necessarily on fun things... 😆..... Although I am looking at possibly getting some kind of e-bike

I played around in the market for the first year or year and half of retirement. I finally figured out that I don’t need any more money. I have enough. It seems to be a major trend with retirees or those contemplating retirement. We’ve been programmed to be afraid of running out of money. Not saying that’s you, but it’s a god damn epidemic among most people.

The level of care we seen with both in home and facility was poor. Under trained and underpaid is no way to have people taking care of the elderly especially with memory/behavior issues. Then other places simply make medicated zombies. Fuck getting old sucks.

What my mom was diagnosed with but very hard to tell for sure....basically a guess.

Its a horrible, horrible disease. I wouldn't put what we went thru on my worst enemy.

People should do themselves a favor and shit can the low fat diets. Alzheimer's and Dementia has increased ever since the govt told everyone to eat low fat diets. The brain needs some fat.

Certain fats can accelerate cognitive decline. Have to eat the right type and in moderation. The main issue with low fat substitutes and increased cognitive decline is the addition of sugar and salt that’s used to replace fat.

What is now considered to be the most damaging and contributes more to cognitive decline is poor sleep. The brain rids itself of waste products while we sleep. Another major contributor is untreated hearing loss.

Yup....market futures are way up..... But I will probably take a hit with my pharma stock with talk of drug price controls 😆.....may have to buy more if it drops with an overreaction.

Why are you fucking around in the market. You’re retired. You’re supposed to be out spending money and having fun.

Hopefully this can stick and make for some real change. No reason we pay more than other countries.

President Trump takes on 'Big Pharma' by signing executiv...

President Donald Trump signed an executive order the White House says is aimed at "lowering drug prices and stopping foreign free-riding on American pharmaceutical innovation."

"The principle is simple – whatever the lowest price paid for a drug in other developed countries, that is the price that Americans will pay," Trump said at the White House. "Some prescription drug and pharmaceutical prices will be reduced almost immediately by 50 to 80 to 90%."

Trump said that "starting today, the United States will no longer subsidize the healthcare of foreign countries, which is what we were doing. We're subsidizing others’ healthcare, the countries where they paid a small fraction of what for the same drug that what we pay many, many times more for and will no longer tolerate profiteering and price gouging from Big Pharma."

That’s because other countries have price controls on medical care.

I am a fan of air bnb.

3 weeks at an air bnb is less than the fees for a time share of similar length, or the taxes on a typical vacation home....and I get to pick the when and where.

I've been a cottage owner, and will have the means to be again in the very near future.

    Nope.

Renting is far and away a better deal, for myself.

I’ve got land in Utah that butts up against a few hundred thousand acres of BLM land. Later this year I’ll be on the hunt for some high desert land in Apache county AZ. Property taxes are virtually non existent in both areas. I just drive in with the van and set up shop. No upkeep, no HOA, no neighbors. I watch my niece and her husband at the family lake home. It’s a fucking part time job keeping it ship shape. The more shit a person owns the more they become a slave to the shit.
