  1. i was talking to a guy from south Dakota when on the europe cruise that sells wind mill parts. as he put it they dont work without a big subsidy. he says i make a lot of money selling parts but i hate them. every 5 to 7 years if they were well maintained you rebuilt the gear box the parts are 150k. one bearing was 50k

  2. i was in europe for 10 days in may. for another cruise. got on the boat in bordeaux  france. the place they had a peaceful protest by the looks of the cars piled up that were burned along with the tires they burned on the lawn of a goverment building. we were ashore every day all told between cars and motor cycles i counted about 20 that were electric. there was a tesla dealer that had maybe 50. in france there are no solarfarms none that i saw. when i was in the wheelhouse talking to the crew i did see a offshore wind mill farm on radar he pulled it up on the plotter it was quite large. in Belgium the wind mills are everwhere but no solar. the port we tied up in. there big export imp[ort was cars 2.5 million a yr along with equipment. thousands of case new holland and some cat machines. and there was a russian oil tanker docked in france. the world runs on diesel fuel look around besides in your back yard. its not going to change for a long time really long time.  half the cars over there are diesel and a lot of cars are manual trans. one of the crew in the wheelhouse is from serbia i asked what he thought of the war in ukraine he said its just the west making money again

  3. for those that say its a game changer.. do you own trucks? drive them? the driver sitting in the center is not new look at a front discharge cement truck. is it a good idea for a concrete truck yes. how many dealers are there? its gonna break when it dose it needs to be fixed quick. and the weight what is it? its all about weight

  4. up here  green short tree length  ( 25ft) 130 to 140 if you can find some. hard wood pulp price is close to that. as far as klim dried not only dose it dry it  but it kills the bugs. the state of maine was taking camp fire wood away from the tourist and replacing it. the emerald ash borer crossed the river from ny to ct on a log truck. 500 ++ in boston sounds about right those libs deserve it. in case anyone asks how they get the wood out of the trailer. its a live floor

  5. was at my dealer yesterday.this is whats he thinks. they have a fix but it has not been approved yet. polaris says the repair will take 2 hrs. and may not include replacing the fuel pump. dealers can not sell new or used sleds. except the 550 fan. this part i kinda expected if you own a sled included in the order and you take it to the dealer for a repair unrelated to this polaris tells him not to return the sled to you

  6. they all had a wood core in the transom some in the stringers also. use a wooden hammer handle to sound the hull. if its soft it will sound different. i would at least reseal the drain plug and any screws for a transducer.. use 3m 5200. if thats a 185 that was rated at the crank not the prop. the cross flow pretty much has the intake and exhaust port across from each other. a high dome on one side of the piston makes it all work. fuel burn wot close to 20 gph? if it turns out you really like the boat look around for a 150 etec. quite no smoke and burn half the fuel

many rear a/c evaporators use an expansion valve at the evaporator. if the system is full and evac properly it should work. doubtful there are any doors or actuators back there but it may have for heat /ac split

this is true but usually ford uses an orifice instead of a expansion valve. it dose the same thing. dose the front ac work well? was the rear a add on or from ford? if a add on it may need more juice . dose the engine fan come on?

  8. is the tank above the motor?pull the hose off the pump is there fuel? the solenoid in the carb can keep it from starting if bad but it should still pump fuel. it may not fill the filter it may only show a little gas in it. and will run fine. if it hasnt been started in months some of them start hard

  9. fire wood pricing this is how it breaks down. if a load 10 cd is sold to a cutnsplit dealer. he will pay around $130 a cd. out of that 130 comes stumpage to the land owner the logger gets some and then the trucking. no one is getting rich. but now the dealer will cut n split it and deliver to the home owner. green always was$250 and air dry 275 i would expect that is a bit low now. the cutnsplit guy makes 120 to 200 or more per cd and always complains wines cry's

  10. if anyone is thinking about burning wood either cut n split or split it yourself buy it today or at least get on the list. there will be a shortage and the price will go up. i have been a logging contractor for 40 yrs and i have never seen this many guys give up. for the liberal city boys that say $6 fuel dosent matter. you have no idea. kerosene is $8.50 at the store down the road. back to fire wood if you can find ash buy it . it dose not need to dry. but with the ash borer killing every ash tree south of here. the old saying was a cd of wood is equal to 200 gal of oil

  11. some bright star from new jersey found out it cant swim. just google bronco bar harbor me. you can drive from bar harbor to bar island at low tide this guy went off the bar down into the mud and there it sat for 2 days in the salt water. they used air bags to float it to where it could be towed. motor trend did a story on it

  12. has anyone tried this?most outboards from 06 and up have this. it allows you to connect the motor to your chart plotter. on there you can see rpm speed engine temp it may show water pressure engine hours and what i wanted the most is fuel burn. the 2 wire harness i needed was $200. finding it was a bit of a problem at first. lowrance has the interface cable for evinrude and Yamaha then you need the back bone cable with the tees and terminators all plug and play. parts just came so we will see how it goes

Maybe a little preventive bridge maintainance might be in order ? ? ?

Foolish masks in public, vaccine mandates . . .

Maybe a little common sense..  Put sand on the bridges..

ok i cant resist sand the bridges. and how long do you think that sand will stay in place? less than 5 min. i wasnt there so i cant say there was ice even if there was some unless you do something stupid. i have been plowing sanding roads for 25 + yrs . your comment i hear a lot from the imports why isnt this road perfect all the time

  14. speed limit is 75 only north of old town. last summer headed to the county with the camper a guy goes buy me like a shot with 3 4 wheelers on a trailer just above the medway exit they were scattered al over the median . trailers will sway at certain speeds what you do next decides how much it costs you . sometimes a light tap on the trailer brake control will do it others its pour the coal to it.
