revkevski. what are you running? don't get me wrong. EV's are awesome machines and fuck off like a scalded cat but until i can get a truck that can take my deck and sleds and a trailer into the mountains at 20 below i'll gladly keep feeding the beast i have

Ev6. As far as cars go I think it’s better than anything in its price range. I think most ev cars are a better choice than ice cars.

Unfortunately are not good enough for people that really use their truck. The truck Elon promised over 5 years ago would have been. 500 mile range, tow 13,000lbs and cost $55,000.00.

Maybe I’m a little harsh on the cybertruck when the body panels fall off it may be light enough to hit the promised range

The Silverado gets great range but it’s a beast with a 220 kw battery. Too heavy to be efficient.

    What's a EV battery cost?

    2 minutes ago, XCR1250 said:

As much as $30,000 to replace.

Mine has an 8 year 160,000km warranty. Battery prices drop every year. Mine has not degraded at all. It looks like the cars will wear out long before the batteries.

At that point the batteries can be repurposed for home power back up or recycled.

That is an incorrect statement. Only BYD’s newly designed 1000v battery can take advantage of the high current chargers.

I’m talking real life experiences. The fastest mine charges is 230kw. Best range is 500 km. Worst range 300kw. Assume 3 hours driving. Not sure about you but after 3 hours, I’m ready for a 20 minute break.

Ev experience 90% of the time. Drive home, 5 seconds to plug in, car is at 80% every time you leave home. 100% if you plan a long trip. Total personal time for someone with a 200 mile (320km) per day of commuting :10 seconds. Cost of commute $$20.00 per week

Vs two trips to the gas station per week and $100.00 extra in fuel

Travelling. At 200 miles, Pull into a charge place, plug in walk away to grab a coffee and use the washroom. Time 20 minutes if the charger is running above 200kw cost between 10 and 50 dollars cdn

Travelling with gas. pull in, fill tank, pay, move to parking spot, walk away to grab a coffee and find the washroom.

Time ? Probably not a lot less than 20 minutes

    Gas cost $30- $50.00 every 200 miles

that’s for a car, the trucks are probably a worse experience

The Chinese EV’s are absolutely boot stomping Tesla. 400 mile range with 10 minute charging.

This is great but it in reality the chargers are the issue, not the cars.

However it is proof that Tesla has lost its edge. Their batteries are good enough for most people but they are not leading edge.

You fail to see the circus in your own country. Not a surprise, really. You have the same myopic outlook as trumpers do down here.

We had two unqualified people bickering for years. PP and Trudeau are no longer a threat.

We finally have a qualified Prime Minister. He is educated, experienced and got there on his own Merit. If he gets elected for a full term, you will see the difference a real leader makes.

Trump was trying to help Putin but unknowingly made a huge opportunity for Canada.

I doubt that this was a spur of the moment decision. Funny how when U.S. jobs were outsourced to other countries people like Obama said that it was just the way it works and that they weren't coming back. Seems that with all the government layoffs of deadwood there should be lots of jobs that'll need bodies.

I’m not surprised at a move like that. Houses probably cost a million dollars less in Carolina vs Vancouver.

  7. Back to the tariff war. I wonder if tariffs will end up being a smaller part of the equation.

Canada does very little in the form of building the war machine. But if we partner with Europe to share manufacturing while we increase our military spending, that could help offset some of the job losses. Waterloo already has some impressive drone technology

The legacy auto is dying. China is making huge strides in making EV’s. Perhaps if we remove tariffs on Chinese vehicles in exchange for manufacturing plants here, that will offset some of the losses.

Building an east to west energy system will be a huge job creator at a time when we need to be upgrading our electrical grid anyway.

From a consumer spending point of view. Each American spends 1,250 on Canadian goods vs each Canadian spending 9,300.00. Tarrifs or not, Canadians are sick of the Orange Felon’s threats. It may be only media hype but it seems like many Canadians are leaving US products on the shelf.

Oil: Building refineries at the source instead of sending it to the U.S. at discount prices. Job losses in Texas and gains in Alberta. Even that traitor Smith won’t be able to argue against that.

Why Is Trump Undermining the US Economy?

Why is Trump doing this? I’ll offer three explanations. First, we are witnessing rank incompetence. As has been widely reported, DOGE has charged into federal agencies and fired workers, only to attempt to rehire them days later when it realized how important they were. It is repeatedly posting data with significant errors about its “spending cuts.” Clearly, there is no plan here. DOGE simply has no idea what it is doing, and all its frenetic activity has amounted to nothing but confusion. There have been no material spending cuts: Federal spending in February was higher than in any previous month. If anything, DOGE’s ineptitude is likely to set back the cause of reducing the size and scope of government.

The second explanation is that Trump is a true mercantilist who genuinely, and wrongly, believes that if the US is running a bilateral trade deficit with another country, it must be losing economic value to that country. For example, he has criticized US businesses that import lumber from Canada on the grounds that the US has “more Lumber (sic) than we can ever use.” He refers to lumber imports as a “subsidy.”

But there is a third, more ominous explanation. It’s possible that Trump may have recently bought into the MAGA view that the US economy needs a fundamental, painful transformation. He said as much on March 9, in an interview on Fox Business.

Why Is Trump Undermining the US Economy? by Michael R. Strain - Project Syndicate

Conservative economist Michael Strain, who was initially optimistic about the prospects of President Donald Trump's second term, has now found himself aghast at what he sees as the president's remarkable economic mismanagement.

The felon is probably shorting the market. Funny how the conspiracy crowd suddenly trusts the government.

going to be a rough 4 years for Styrofoambarbie guzzle

It’s staring out pretty good. The danger of a lying bags of shit PP as our PM has been reduced significantly.

That significantly reduces the chance of our PM embarrassing us by sucking up to Putin and Kim like Trump does.

Canada is already great but if we do the hard work over the next 4 years we’ll be even better. Every bad contract signed with an American oil company can be wiped out. We can seize their assets to pay for environmental clean ups. Trade agreements are void according to Trump and we’ll be manufacturing our own military equipment instead of buying from the US.

Ah, no. Pierre the apple eating mushroom insulted Trump.

PP said a few light things because he knows 90% of Canadians don’t want to downgrade and be part of your shithole.

It’s just theatre from you reality tv President. Canadians won’t be fooled as easily as you bumpkins.

We could buy your country with our collective bottle return money, or take it over with a half properly equipped Girl Scout Troop.

Shut your mouth and know your roll before we have you picking rocks out of the desert.

You fuckers couldn’t take Afghanistan after almost 20 years. Just use your brain for a few honest seconds and imagine how shitty it would be to fight a war on your own turf. You’re use to fucking up peoples lives from a distance. A few weeks without power would soften you fuckers up just enough for Putin to finish his conquest of Merca.
