They do. They just don't migrate over the mississippi. If you're in the dakotas in spring you will see enormous flocks but only a few stragglers here.

Thanks. It was the brightest I've seen in quite some time. Apparently people pretty far south were able to see them too and we are still in a g5 geomagnetic warning so possibly again tonight.

Yep and the beef market has been fairly high already. 

My guess is there has been many more people infected that didn't know it was H5N1.
