That has nothing to do with it. Cat’s low sales are from not selling what the consumer wants. A bigger than 800cc sled with a full feature display. What does cat release? A 600 with the same crap they have used for the last 12 years. They are 8 years late to the party with the 858 and the higher end options. If they would have done that out of the gate the catalyst would have been tough find this season.
And Doo (boost) and Poo (boost and 900r) have upped the game and probably already working on the next flavor of engine. This will not help Cat and their 858 imo.

Doo has it's own issues. Bought a 22 RXT and the steering shroud out of the box had a gouge in it which the dealer had to order. A year later one of the top side panels discolored for some reason and they wouldn't even warranty it. Of course the machine was 14 months old. First time BRP purchase and they won't honor warranty, blamed the customer.

Agreed. If this was Cat, the poster would not even make a comment. His history speaks for itself. We have never rolled our sxs RZR and we go through some pretty rough shit.

I have serious concerns about the survival of the brand, but I really don't expect that in the short term, I think we're looking at 5 years out for any concern over its survival, probably closer to 10. Textron saved Arctic Cat and made them profitable. However, there's only one thing Textron cares about - same as thousands of other corporations - and that's money.
Corporations are generally only loyal to their employees when it makes financial sense. They gladly let people go, even when they're planning to grow and expand, because they need to show a profit. It doesn't matter who they let go, either - often the most experienced people cost the most money and it's easier to show a short term profit even at the expense of quality. That's how it is.
IBM learned a long time ago how to avoid the subject of layoffs while simultaneously riffing people on a large scale at fairly regular intervals. They do it three ways: 1-A high percentage of "employees" are contractors and don't count, 2-If you get laid off, you have to promise not to say how you left the company in order to get any benefits, and 3-All official spokespeople deny it ever happened. IBM is publicly held, but do a search for layoffs and the story gets vague and unverifiable. I'm surprised Textron doesn't do that.
Worked for a large Japanese Consumer/Industrial Electronics company. One of the largest in Japan. Had a senior management role. As South Korea, Malaysia and China started building shit cheaper some of the product the company manufactured got sourced to these and other countries. It was all about cutting cost and maximizing profit for shareholders. I had to replace full time employees with offshore workers (India). It was never enough, every year I had to cut more people. Then my turn came, just a number. I was one of 50,000 employees let go over a 2 year span. Zero thanks for my 27 years of service.

A joint venture that didn't have AC markings anyplace on it, used 0 legacy AC tuning components, and completely identical/parts interchange to the team clutches used by pre buy out textron, Deere, and others.Like Poo RZR fire issue, Cat knew these were an issue. They knew this at the factory and now rather than fix the problem put a band aid on it.

Just design build and sell machines that don't catch on fire during normal use.
Good point, there are thousands, likely millions of vehicles on the roads today that have similar issues to this. I'm driving a 2023 Tundra with a fuel hose routing issue. Waiting for a fix.

Can't be the snow division. Someone on here claimed last year's Catalyst production was sold out. Think they even said this year's snow checks went well. Maybe this applies to the Yamaha sled builders

I'm surprised the number is not worse given the lousy snow season, high interest rates and questionable quality over the past couple of seasons. Couple that with a receding economy in Canada.

8 or 9 months ago I watched the CEO of BRP being interviewed on BNN. He was pounding his chest with glee as he stated all was good with sled production and sales. Said the clientele is on the higher end of the food chain and a slowdown would affect them minimally. I LMAO as weeks prior their were non current sleds sitting in the local dealer's yard. And even more after this winter. They also have non current Sea Doos. Times have changed

The public will never know how many, so maybe it was just one guy who lost his job at Walmart. But, we shouldn't assume there wasn't any. I think there were more than we realize.
The resident expert said all sold out. To lazy to look for the post. No doubt reality says otherwise.

Have a similar recall on my 2023 Tundra that I have had since Nov 2022. Still waiting for a permanent fix. Still not burnt to the ground

According to the Cat resident expert the Catalyst production was sold out within days of the Spring check program. These sleds showing as non current must be a mistake

I would like to see Cat develop a dog deflector for their 25's. Just in case any of these new Cat sleds make their way to Alaska.
